It is a new week and today my Self Development training begins. I will be filming for my Educational Youtube Channel and I am really looking forward to it and hope it will help follow your dreams and have a life you love.
For me Self Development is simple. Change what you are not happy with. Go through the passed but in a way where your not dwelling but learning. Learning what you have done that turned out to be the best thing you have ever did, so far in your life and what didn’t work out. What is holding you back.
It can be that you failed your driving test. So the first thing is to reflect what happened. Was you driving too fast, you stopped when you shouldn’t have or your nerves distracted you. I made a mistake yesterday where I was playing a song on my radio show and accidentally turned it off but it was okay as I rectified it, reflected well I know that I was rushing and needed to take my time, but the rest of the show went according to plan. Your going to slip up, that’s life. The worst thing to do is allowing it to dominate. Not moving on.
I have created a free Printable which you can download and will give you the details of what the training will be covering.
I will be posting three videos for this training each week and can use it not just for February but throughout your life.
It will be three sections and a conclusion. What you will need, which is basically your time, if you want to write things down and a drink whilst you watch and listen to my training for this Self Development training and please if you want to give me your feedback, then please do.
Doing an Autumn Reset, I have to have a reason to do it and a goal, to move onto the next stage of my life. For me it is because I like to have projects completed and learn from them as I continue so I can create more blogs, and more content and build my income and because I enjoy my writing and sharing my life with you, as I like being part of the online community and to so wanted to help others complete tasks, to build more sustainable life, that they put themselves first sometimes.
Being an adult now. and being a mum, I have responsibilities and it can pile up and up, and make you feel like say “Sod it, I’m gonna what a TV series instead” and that is okay, because for me that is a sign I am doing too much, so now I use Autumn to catch up on things that I had to put a side, for the summer holidays and why also I developed my Life Coaching programme too, Summer Project which is to help you have a better life and better year, and can be used also for all year round, but meant that I had to put the work on my next book to one side, and do a little, and now I have completed the second edit of my book, feels so good, and having minimal stuff, and sorting out my bedroom in Wimbledon, see the space I have from doing that, and clears my mind, and be more functional room and everything has a home, and getting rid of what I don’t want, and that I may use one day and still in a years time, be there still untouched.
Don’t feel as though you have to do it, as I am not in charge of your life, you are, and may not work for everyone,.but I find it has been helpful to me and so I am sharing my Autumn Reset, because I know it can help, and because I know many people like me, find it hard to work one project at a time and become a chore rather than enjoying the process of working on projects that need completing, to restart for the New year in January. Then there is Christmas and very busy time of year, so implemented so I can focus on enjoying get ready for the festive season, and have birthdays coming up that I need to focus on, and has helped manage my time better.
So, set goals, create a plan and ask yourself, what do you want out of this years Autumn Reset? And please if you want to share then please do, you can by leaving a comment below.
Just to let you know I have books already published on amazon, under the names. Carrie Challoner and Carrie Holmes and on parenting and novels, including serious fiction and comedy too. They are on Kindle and on Paper, so please check them out.
Today after being away at the weekend did a tidy of my bedroom, took Henry on a bus ride and on the train and then came back and sorted out my clothes that I had been meaning to do and tomorrow going to continue.
>It does mean having a good amount of sleep and relaxing properly so you can start each day fresh faced.
>It means taking time to have some self care so I had a shower and washed my face, hair and body.
>It means taking time out from being on my phone and being present and having a good daily routine
>This weekend away I journaled which I hadn’t done for a while and drafting for videos I want to film and blogs I want to write
>Making time to visit and meet with friends, having a night out doing something different that you don’t always get to do, and went to social club this weekend away where they were playing Bingo
>We walked along the seaside and had fish ‘n’ Chips and went to a pub we hadn’t never been to before and had a climbing frame for kids
>I caught up on my steps I like to do each week and went swimming with my son and my husband. something we rarely do together, it was such a shame that on that it was windy and rainy
>I did some laundry and unpacked from being away this weekend
>I did some reading and had a cooked breakfast which is very rare these days
>Now I am catching up on posting my blogs, whilst I watch a live video
>Started to go through my finances that I like to do each week
>Tomorrow I will be getting my son ready as he is going to a holiday club and getting myself ready for the day and got to have a blood test and catch up on editing my book I am writing and dusting my bedroom.
I like having things to do because it helps to manage my mind and not wasting my days and getting as much out of them as possible.
I bet you have watched the X Factor or BGT, that many say when they do the auditions, that this is their last chance, but what if you had one chance? I wrote in my last blog about Dealing with Knockbacks and that to keep trying to do what you dream of doing, yet sometimes you do only get the one chance, for example: Being on a quiz show or game show, as it lets other people have a go, or winning the lottery.
I read a book by Paul McKenna some years back and he asked in this books, it was Building your confidence in seven days, and for me it would be to travel and explore with my son, and raise money for a charity and have a house built.
So what would you do if you only had one chance of achieving your dreams?
What steps would you follow?
I would clear my credit card debt, build up my savings,
Decide on the fundraising events I’d like to do and train for them and walk and run whenever possible again and continue as long as my legs allow me to do
Save enough to have the money to have a house built, by creating numerous income streams and have a bank account for building the house of my dreams.
Please leave details of what you would do in the comments below.
You have to make things happen for yourself, and it has taken me a long time to realise that and so I make the most of my days and weeks, and months now. I want to make sure I create good memories for my son, and it is up to me to do that and receives the best education, and learning about places and life skills such baking and cooking, reading, writing, how to wash their clothes and keep things nice and tidy. That has to come from me and his dad, and making sure that his needs are met and the same for us too being parents and be a role model.
If people see you achieving your dreams a lot of people will follow and be inspired, and life as it is, we never know if we are going to live or die, that really is out of our control, and so living each day to the fullest is how you can do the things you want, have happiness in your life. It is not about money, that is a necessity, but about how it makes you feel and the people around you.
So it is here my printable for my Life Coaching programme Summer Project 2023 and topics I will talking about in my blogs and will do some videos too.
Let me know if you prefer blogs or videos, as this programme is for you and if you have anything you’d like to share then please do in the comments below.
If you have any questions please leave below and what you’d like me to share. Life is precious and so is time. We try so much to make others happy but we forgotten about yourself and so I want you to put yourself first for a change and make time just for you to recharge and reset your life and that is my motive and intention to help build your happiness like I have in my life and things I have learned now being 44 years old.
So if you didn’t see my last blog then I am taking on a new challenge for January and that is no spend. This is from and idea I got from watching a Kate Kaden, and not because she is doing it, it’s because I do want to control myself when it comes to money and focusing what I need rather than what I want.
If you’d like to see more of my videos that I do each week then please subscribe on my channel as I love reaching out to you all.
Please check out first vide on Youtube here:
I really you enjoy watching and there will be more to come.
Hello and welcome! So firstly if you have not been following my series of blogs for my programme “Project 2021” then please go to my Pinterest board which has all my recent videos and blogs, which has a lot of Life coaching tools and information. There is also new boards and sections I have created too, if you wanted to look at my other boards and pins.
So in this blog I am talking about How to not get bogged down but getting it done/Being super productive.
I firstly work with one notebook which is my main one and for me is a life saver. I did a video on one of my other sites which I write, on google and did a video about How I live in my notebook.
That is the first,
Tip 1# Find a system that makes scheduling your work simple and that can help you stick to it. I am creating a planner at the moment that I hope will help you, and will be for fello content creators.
Tip 2# If you have kids then separate your time, so when they are homeschooling give them tasks that they can do without supervision so you get work done, and spare an hour to help them and use the evenings to block time out to do your work.
When I have my dinner or do my skincare of an evening I will use this time to watch a bit of TV on BBC iPlayer for example or watch a Youtube video, and it is great to just have that time and do a bit of reading a day. This is a new habit I am Implementing at the moment and it has helped me to read a bit of a book if it is only reading one or two pages. It just good to do things that help me wind down and in the morning wake me up.
Tip 3# Batch your work. So on some days I will pre-film a few videos or put together a batch of blog posts ready to go live. It can save a huge amount and then have a “Take it easier day” and have that time to catch up on reading or watching television. Or even some cooking or go for a walk if you have been cooped up within 4 walls all week.
The other thing I try to do is the night before go through what I have done on that day and what else that needs completed, is there any overdue items not done? What is scheduled for the next day ahead?
Tip 4# Plan ahead on some days, but don’t over plan. Try to get what you still have left from the day before and then get todays list down, and make time for breaks.
Once I have my own home again, which is going to be soon in a few days it seems, I like to potter so I will be each day even though I don’t like cleaning I like to, just go around the home putting bits away, taking anything that needs to be put in a different room that hasn’t been put in its home and just go in each room, tidying and straightening out.
Tip 5# Set time to do this each day or twice a week. I find doing this helps the chaos that life can bring be stopped and get up to date with Home Projects.
So I hope these tips are helpful and I hope you have survived lockdown too, but waiting for it shift and be able to do more fun things again out of the home again.
Many thanks for reading, ‘

P.S: Please check out my Youtube channel, as I have today uploaded a few new videos including my weekend chat video:
Hello and welcome! So it is Monday once again and for me it means new goals to set and many more days doing the things I love and hopefully soon being in my own home again.
If you would like to see my recent Life Coaching videos and blogposts then please see my Facebook Group page that you can join, to see them and use the Life coaching tips I share so you can have a better life and a better year:
It doesn’t have to be a drastic change just something that adds Value to your day, and gives you a purpose to get up in the morning and gives you joy. I am all about the Self care and love now, as I could be very critical about myself and it would be a viscious cycle and you end up being so drained of putting yourself down, that even you want to tell your critic self to shut up.
A habit is a ritual, and I know we have been restricted with Lockdown but we can still function if we just take care to put on some Make up, take a bath and listening to chill out mindful music and light a scented candle. Or have a glass of wine whilst taking a bath. I think we have been fed too much about diet and what is good for our bodies and what isn’t. My grandad smoked all his life yet he died old age, and he had been in a middle a war literally so I know smoking isn’t a good habit, but in the end when he couldn’t go out that much having parkinson’s disease, it was the one thing he still had that he enjoyed. Why take that away?
I don’t smoke but I do like a drink every now and again, and it was the one thing I have never felt guilty about, as I was always feeling guilty and often I would question, WHY AM I FULL OF GUILT? Often this feeling in bred into you, and I avoid emotional blackmail, as to me it is a no no.
Life isn’t about scoring points, playing games. It is living the life you have always dreamed of, being near those who are like minded and want to do positive things, even when you have those who want to shut you down. It’s your life and we all have to share this earth so I am all for LETTING PEOPLE LIVE HOW THEY WISH, NOT HURTING OR USING SOMEONE AS A VERBAL PUNCH BAG OR AN EXCUSE TO BE UNKIND!
As we are in a Pandemic a good habit is by doing and “Act of Kindness” like baking a cake for a neighbour, offering to clean your mums car or send them an E-Card. It is something I have always done and is one of the reasons why I create these posts, not to get pity or to drag on about not being confident, but to use to inspire and bring hope to people that may be feeling low because they can’t see love ones and want a change of scene.
So I wrote a post like this some time ago and said how I had a good foundation of people in my life, and that it is good to have that around you. I do still feel the same but the people who are now my foundation are different people and having a horrendous seven years, I have come to realise that those original people didn’t have my back and were very much against me.
I am someone who believes in Love that is out of this world and I have that now being in a new relationship which some may mock but I don’t care.
I was not on this planet to please everyone and to be like someone else. I am me and I am at a place now in my life where I feel contentment and very much sure of myself and it is changing those in your life that can bring a bad smell in your life alone and be with good hearted people who will always have your back no matter what.
I have created more Life Coaching video content on my Youtube channel and put together a playlist so here is a link for you to check these out:
It can be hard work when someone just wants to go against everything you say or do, but I am a fighter and have found a strength within me that I never knew was there and has helped me to battle my way forward and create a lot of things that only some can dream of.
Now when I say that I feel I have to justify those feelings, and concious of not wanting to show off but isn’t it my right to compliment myself? That’s been part of what has been drumed in me to not wanting to praise myself, but I am not going to stop being kind to myself as I can be my worst critic at times too. Recognising your strengths and self awareness is a big step forward and makes you see,
“Oh I am not that bad as I think I am and I have finally found the qualities within me that will drive me to success and forget those who want to attack and I am not going to stop believing in myself when once it was seemed wrong and will be my own Life Coach and as Cyndi Lauper sang “Be as Strong as I can””.
I am not doing this because I feel that I have not had a bad life because I have had a good one. I never was left hungry or without clothes, but now at the age of 42 have seen that there will always be those who remain your friends and family, but there are those that won’t and you just need to let go and push forward and live not exist, and create a foundation that is filled with love, faith and empowerment, that will catch you if you fall sometimes and be there to celebrate your success too.
So stay safe, stay strong and never let anyone get you down.
So the one thing I have talked about in one of my videos is about Habits, and I have added few new Habits into my life now that I have done and they have just blended into my daily routine and helps shape my days.
The one thing I have is a daily routine.
Yes it does pay to be flexible on some days, but it also is good to have structure and shapes the day out for me so I know what I planned for each day and make sure I give myself breaks and I spend each day in the mornings writing in my journal.
I don’t always get up at the same time but I do have a cut off time of when I can stay in bed till and that is no later than midday, 12noon. I will also keep track of blogs scheduled that have been written and then scheduled to go live.
The same with Youtube videos.
Lists
I live by lists and have a notebook which I live in (see blog post with video about this below) as sticking with one notebook for organizing your daily work is the key to staying on track, and I will often sit down each day and go through what I have done.
I will even keep a list of blog ideas that come into my head and videos to film. A list for me isn’t a to do as then it is seen from my eyes as a chore, so I see it as a goals list as this helps me make sure it is done.
Having a daily clear out
As I have a laptop now and doesn’t have the same amount of storage as a computer I will go through my files on my laptop, to go through images and video content I don’t need to keep and delete items, making space for more videos to be done and photos to be saved.
I have a day where I will use to organize my desk and make it tidy each week and keep my room clean. I will clear out at the end of each day my emails and then list what is scheduled for the next day.
Digital CameraDigital Camera
My cleaning day is usually Thursday and I have selected this day as I don’t do a Day In A Life on this day, so is free and helps re-organize and have some order for the rest of the week.
I am not a lover of cleaning and so schedule it in to make sure it does get done is the way forward for me.
Have a few days off to recuperate and catch up
When doing this it helps me to stay on track and catch up with my work and have some days off, like this week I didn’t film any Day In a life so I could catch up on the ones I have filmed but yet to be uploaded and this then makes space for me to film more.
I feel that I have to take that break to reset myself and do other things that are important that need to get done. Life is about variety and as human beings we all need that type of rest.
Food should be a hug on a plate or in a bowl and having food you enjoy is good for your wellbeing. To much of it though you can become sick of it, but having food that comforts you, is fine. Create yourself a weekly menu of meals to make and this can help you use up food you already have and make meal times fun.
Reading a good book
Find refuge in a good book can do wonders and I find self help books are a comfort along with Chick flick books such as Bridget Jones and I used to love reading Lena Kennedy. Her books were based on on the 1940s of ladies living in the streets of London.
A good book is something that makes you look forward to picking it up, and can be picked up and put down without losing where you left the story. I love reading about other people’s lives and so I do read an Autobiography aswell as fiction and I find these help give me direction and help me tell my own story.
Book are works of art in words and a good book is one that leaves an everlasting thought and you wanting more. I am so glad I was given the gift of writing as I too have books out and very proud of them. (See Amazon.com), they are under the name Carrie Challoner.
Keeping happy memories in a folder and using greeting cards as pages
I have a small blue folder from Rymans and I use this to store various photos of when I did dancing and holidays and days at school. This folder I love to look at and it stores a lot of memories that I want to keep hold of and love looking through this from time to time and will be putting more of these together.
It keep those greeting cards that you don’t want to get rid of and recycle to add photos onto the back or inside the cards.
The other reason I want to do this along with photo books and scrapbooks I put together is so they can be passed down to my kids to their kids one day.
Choose a song or a play list that helps you get out of the bed in the mornings
Every morning without fail I will put on some music and I have in my Life Coaching video list spoken in one how the Power of music has become my life, giving me empowerment and told my life story.
I even have different playlists and going to make a few more playlists of songs that wake me up in the mornings and are easy to listen too.
A Safe Haven in your home or outdoors
So this can be anywhere in your home or outdoors and I am going to create this as soon as I have my own place again. I want to create a room and have a park I go to where I have no TV, but I can listen to music, journal, just sit quietly with my thoughts or read a book.
If it is in a room of your house, you can make it just your space and design it with plants and a scented candle to let the people know who you are living with that you are in there and do not want to be disturbed and having them see or smell a certain scent tell them this, so they can join you in being quiet and be a great place to have a natter or just be by yourself for a bit.
So make each day count for you and there is no time like the present to do this then now, as we are still in Lockdown and Stay Safe, Stay Strong.
Many thanks for reading,
