Football and rugby were both from the same sport and was more like handball as they could kick and handle the ball when football first started.

Now it is our leading sport and worth millions that some clubs grew and others went into Administration, example Wimbledon football club then became later on AFC Wimbledon and change split into Milton Keynes football club.

Aldershot went down and Chelsea was sold to Ken Bates in the 80’s and bought the club which was only a pound.

The leagues are now very different when it all used to be Divisions not leagues. The top division was Division one and now is the Premier League, Division two is now the Championship league, League one, League two and Three. All clubs that a top flight have changed the way in running a team, cause managers and players would sign long life contracts and once a play signed a football club contract that would be it and would work through their contract before they left to go to other clubs.

Racism in football: 'It's not black and white' - CNN

The top clubs have changed too and now we see that Chelsea, Spurs, Liverpool, Man City and Man utd are all tops teams and often will go head to head in winning the Premiership, Champions League and still the FA Cup.

See above an old picture of the players under Bobby Robson, who managed English up until 1990 and was one of the longest men in charge of the England team now many from this picture have become coaching, pundits, commentators and presenters, forgetting that these guys all played professional football and created a legacy that still gets talked about today.

Who had thought Gary Lineker who had male admires ad woman too, who was always chosen without hesitation to play club and international football would be a adveriser for Walkers Crisps and now top presenter for BBC and English Soccer.

When Gazza came along then the team changed again and was a player that saw for the first time a guy in tears over a second booking so he wouldn’t have had the chance to play in the World cup final and was one of the best players under Bobby Robson and for Tottenham Hotspur to have played on the English soil.

Maradonna was a leading player for Argentina, when it came to them taking drugs it overshadowed both their capabilities and feel they needed more guidance in their play and not feel that had to do this in order to make a name for themselves.

John Barnes who originally played for Watford started to shine when he moved to Liverpool football club but struggled when playing for England as everyone doubted his performance being a non stop creater and scorer for Liverpool but got a lot of stick from England fans for not being the same.

This can happen but I watched his football and asked “Where was the problem?” I thought his performance was good as he always got involved didn’t shy away from playing international football so for me it was “Well perhaps you are expecting too much” and they was. He had flare and knew how to keep the ball along the field without it being taken back by the other team. I think supporters compare too much at was the issue, as he did put 100% into is game so where again was the problem? He created goals, he passed, he was brilliant at ball control and worked the left side with no issues at all.

When football changed and Sky TV became it became a lot of money to fork out to watch football and it made it very commercialised and took some of the spark of English football away. I loved it on a Sunday when we would have our roast dinner after socialising with friends in a pub in chelsea to then sit down and watch the football it set you up for the weekend and everyone tuned in.

Then you had cable and they too tried to make money from the game but Sky dominated and became the leader of the UK TV world and a massive influence that not all clubs got featured like before. Only FA Cup games would at one time show on normal TV or we’d listen to it on the radio.

When going to visit a real match it was part of the culture and I didn’t care about seats and standing I just loved the atmosphere and being part of the soccer world, and wearing the shirts and sometimes coats and jackets it made the game even more excitable and then when I bought a season ticket and would go on my own it again was brilliant and I loved being with other season ticket holders. You became a community not just a fan base and hearing fans sing it gave me goosebumps and made me fall even more in love with the game.

I will share more inspiring stories on this site and will talk about the Athletics and the Olympics.

everyone can build a castle, royal traditions, the monarchy, The Queen and the trooping of the colour, Yearly events of Britain and England

So, I watched part of the Trooping of the colour, where the Queen gets saluted by her army, The Queen Guards, and seeing them for real for myself and being in the grounds of Buckingham Palace seeing it for real, as a young child, loved it as it marks the Queen’s rein of being The Head of the Monarchy, and gets the Red arrows doing a fly path marking the Queens second birthday too.

BBC One - Trooping the Colour, 2021

It has been going on for centuries and mainly began when Queen Victoria was the head of the Monarchy who out of the Royals was the long head of state in the world, and lived onto like Queen Elizabeth to Jubilee.

The Queen’s army is the biggest of the world, and they even live in the Quarters of Buckingham Palace and Windsor to support the Queen to make sure she is well protected and has had her ups and downs but always kept a steady head and she really gets her role in being in the Monarchy and being a Grandmother of the world.

People often ask why does the Queen have two birthday’s but I don’t?

Reason, because she is the Queen and she is doing her job as the Queen to keep these traditions going, and it is her right. You could have two birthdays by celebrating the Queens birthdays too. As its nice weather why not have a BBQ to celebrate it.

The Trooping of the colour is a yearly event and it had to change due to social distancing rules, but it is good that even with Lockdown it’s been able to still be celebrated and it is a mark of respect to celebrate the running of our Royal Family and having a Queen. This year instead of it happening in Buckingham Palace was now at her second home Windsor Castle, due to not being able to celebrate normally by the Royal Balcony of Buckingham Palace.

Everything has to in order and precise, and how she likes it to go.

So if you have never seen it why not have a cup of tea or coffee and watch it.

The Saints of the world? What I consider a saint

inspiring people, Inspiring stories, the people who have changed the world, the sainst of the world, what i consider as the saints

So the saints of the world. Well there have been so many in our world that it is hard to pinpoint one that stands out, as they have all be saints of their own. That is Saint George and I thought it was in May but no just checked I missed it, it was 23rd of April and I will gonna do a whole decorating thing, but no missed it once again. I even bought fleece of the occasion, but no bother I will wear my St Georges attire tomorrow.

Then there is St Patrick, St Davids and the pop group All Saints. So who are now the Saints of this world, now we are in another century and another decade and another year?

  • Warriors

So, the warriors, the kids and adults who have made a different to this world, example Micheal Jackson. Now I know people may quiz this but honestly he is not a Sex Offender at all, and in fact the total opposite. He changed music and bought the music of the 80’s and 90’s to a whole different level and I trusted him with my life and this is from someone who knew of kids being abused and he was not that.

He used his fame to look after the world and kids, yet the price of fame lead him to his death as he was set upon and made into a monster which was not true. When a guy of him relm come along there are always those who want a slice of the cake and that is what happened.

Micheal, loved music and that was something that he knew could help him in his position to change the world, but often like Jesus they can put on trial for doing so. He was being used and drugged cause people around him pretended to love when they didn’t. I can identify myself with Micheal as this happened to me. I would never abuse or bully anyone, and isn’t in my vocabulary. Yet cause of people pretending to be on his side, made him into an enemie because jealousy and resentment.

He struggled with self image, and people were like, why? He is famous how can he have problems with the way he looks? Cause like many the image we see in our heads is not always what we see in he mirror, and he did have a generic skin condtion which effected his confidence.

To me though, I want to celebrate the art he created and he was a one off, as he made music into being cool when Disco, Mowtown and soul were seen old fashioned. He put music and started he 80’s and is why it is one of the most celebrated decades of music, on the map. Even now the the video Thriller is the top videos of music videos of all time.

  • Survivor

So that leads me to the next one. A Survivor. To me that makes me think of the people who Survived the disasters like Hillsborough, as this changed the world of football, and how matches were managed, and seeing this disaster unfold, I was in total shock afterwards, and made me feel fear like nothing before. I feel in some way an imposter for saying that because “I wasn’t there” but I knew that possibly my cousin had gone to the game, and I said to my mum to call my Aunty to check, but it was fine he wasn’t and it was one that will always be gut wrenching.

The supporters who were the saviours of that day, then were accused of killing other supporters, yet they were the heros. I am now working with the Police and on that particular day the Police failed them, as when they tried to get out of the massive surge of fan, the Police kept sending them back in. I think of the survivors, who have had to fight truth and nail, cause as the day carried on, it was obvious that there was a massive cover up. That some of the supporters (Liverpool) were drunk, that there had been fights breaking out, and that they falsed a gate open.

Being a Liverpool fan myself, which it has been one of the teams I have supported, and meeting Liverpool fans they would have never done that, it was because the Police weren’t checking tickets and as football crowds do they follow and if they aren’t to, “Go into the other Pens” they went to the first place to watch the game, not realising that there were a packed full of supporters already in there.

From seeing this unfold. I honour Liverpool FC and Everton on how they carried themselves and the game against Everton, I couldn’t watch and I remember turning as I was my living room, to go in my room. I have no idea of how they must have felt, yet they were the ones (the supporters) in trying to save the people who died and injured lives. THEY WERE NEVER CRIMINALS AGAINST THEIR OWN SUPPORTERS IN WAS A POLICE ERROR AND YES GROUND!

  • Inspirational

When I think of Inspirational I think of my friend Kelly who I knew from Peabody and people like Oprah Winfrey. She changed a chat show to a talk show. You think they are the same but no they are not. When I think of chat, i think two people having a natter but often you talking at someone, and I like it when I am talked too. She would talk through the audience to the people on her show. She never hid about problems with her weight and dieting, she was someone who didn’t have a good childhood, but it never stopped her, and became a household name, not just in America but all over the world.

I think of the Queen, especially now, as it goes to show that they are a famous family and she is a real Queen, yet like other families there are problems within it and she has to some how keep it together, and its never out of he public eye. If it were me I know I would be like I am not getting out of bed today, but she has to. That’s how people see it and its the attitude of people saying “Well she is the Queen so what does she expect”. Without seeing she is still a human being, and still bleeds like we all do, and yet has always put on a public appearance.

Anita Dobson I think of too. She put the pub landlady on the map as the pub world even when Eastenders came on our screens was seen as “A mans world” and they turned heads Anita the guy who played Dirty Den, by bringing London life into play. She was he first from the land of the soap to be on Top of the Pops, singing the theme of Eastenders.

I can not walk away without mentioning Cannon and Ball. They are to me Saints of the Double Act world. They have the best double act tune, and I loved The two ronnies and Morecambe and Wise but I was and am a massive Cannon and Ball Fan. Having been someone who hated school knowing they would be on the TV on Saturday made my school days bareable and I would feel so sad when their series would end. I, would say in terms of school Miss Conley was the Saints of Saint Pauls. who would want to walk out by 2pm some days, as yes it was that bad, and she would swear but was one of the fair few teachers who all pupils respected and could relate to, cause she felt like we did, that school was the last place you’d want to be in this world.

So who do you class as saints, going in these things I would love to hear.

Inspiring Stories: The Comedy With Lots of War History, Dad’s Army

amazing people, British sitoms that live on, developing things that change the world, everyone can build a castle, magic of wonderful TV, my weekly inspiring stories, passion to make people laugh, the art of making people laugh when items are tough, timeless TV shows, TV Classics that helped people smile when they were down, TV Sitcom, Wordpress weekly blog post

So each week I write an Inspiring stories post and thank you so far for your kind feedback I am so glad you are liking them. So this week it is about The Comedy with a lot of War History and still there is Clive Dunn and Ian Lavender who were stars in the sitcom who have lots of stories as most are no longer here but in spirit still, and told the story of Veterans who petrolled the streets of London and Britain whilst other folk went out to fight across the globe in World War 2 which it was set, and that is Dad’s Army.

  • It is a brilliant comedy with a brilliant catchy tune, “Who do you think you are kidding Mr Hitler”, and the majority of the cast were in fact retired and came out of retirement to be in the show.

It showed the funny side of the war and how they would try to make friends with the enemy and was a constant pop at Germany our arch rivals and a lot of it was, off the cuff and not scripted. They never did that many takes and sometimes left the bloopers in as it made it even funnier.

My favourite one is when they have to sleep in a barn and comaflage themselves in hay, and my favourite Pike played by the wonderful Ian Lavendar is dressed up like a Gangster.

Clive Dunn who I also adored and I know someone who knew him very well as he was a local gentleman, a Londoner, and as Ian Lavendar was a teenager when it was filmed as he was the clerk in Captain Manoring’s Bank, was taken under their wing and was famous for the catchphrase of Mr Manoring “Stupid Boy” whilst Clive Dunn’s charactor catchphrase was, “Don’t Panic Mr Manoring”.

Many of it was filmed in a studio outside London and in the countryside where they could build pretend trenches and use it to look like a battlefield and had leaves over their helmets with pretend weaponry.

It first aired in 1959 and was black and white and then when they did more shows in the 80’s it was in colour and again many retired and then came back again to be in those episodes too.

You can always tell a good comedy when the whole cast show there enjoyment of being in it and you can see many are laughing along with the audience.

Now they are shown on UK Gold and they are still as funny as they were back then and would be a relief after the war as the serious side of it was that many that fought didn’t make it back home, and so it made good TV, because sometimes coming to terms with such an iconic event, it enabled the country to look back and laugh about parts of World War 2 and celebrates it in a way that no other show did.

There were many episodes made that didn’t get aired and so they have tried to remake some of the shows, and I suppose it gives others a chance to experience being in such an iconic comedy like that and was timeless. The gags were rememberable and all the cast were national treasures and will live on to be one of the best UK Sitcomes ever made on British TV, and you can’t bit the classics and the material was good because it wasn’t overly staged and was good from the start of the show to the end.

Dad’s Army you are a fine art and the writers deserve a cheers because it bought happiness to all our homes and will continue to do so. It does help me keep memories as I would watch it with my Nan and Grandad, which others have claimed too, and yes was tremendous TV.
