80s music and fashion, decades of my life, sharing blog about the 80s, true inspiring stories, TV shows in the 80s, weekly inspiring stories post

Hello and welcome to a new Inspiring stories. In this post I am writing about my favourite decade of music, The 80’s as I was a young child and born in 78 and as soon as I am remember I fell in love with music and still I play a lot of songs from the 80’s that brings me so much joy of the memories I have.

The first type of music from the 80’s as I saw it was very original, powerful ballads and some good electronic songs. I forgot that before I became a fan of Dollar and Bucks Fizz I used to listen to Juice Newton who mixed rock with country and western music, and then as I got to the age 5 it then became pop and soul music.

In the 80’s the pop culture was huge with young girls dressing like Madonna and men dressing up as Micheal Jackson who in the 80’s became a sole artist selling over million records and captivated the music industry in a different genre by created inspirational videos one being of course Thriller. It also became a norm when singers like Micheal Jackson and Madonna entered into the film industry to further their careers and then Motown became a sound and musically of its own.

It was when many groups became solo artists like Phil Collins, George Micheal, Freddy Mercury and Micheal Jackson.

Best 1980s Albums - Rolling Stone

With the music came the fashion and many girls dressing up to be like Madonna and it was the last decade to feature ABBA;s music and they would wear differnt outfits we all remember to and then there was the male and female pop groups. The band I ever saw i the 80’s was Bananarama and then Jason Donovan and Kylie Minogue.

Peter Gabriele who was lead singer of Gensis became a sell out solo artist with Sledgehammer and then the Communards, The Cure, A-HA and more and more bands came into the light of fame.

Then came the soaps Eastenders, Emmerdale, Coronation street and Brookside. Corrie and Emmerdale were already soaps when Eastenders came along and some came from the UK TV show called Grange Hill. I knew Vinnie who was in it with Todd Hardy when I lived down the southcoast for a while and then a lot of the Soap actors UK and Australia became popstarts too.

There was also fashion with puff ball skirts and acid t-shirts that then lead into the 90’s and before that you had charity causes with charity songs like We Are The world and the first time all UK bands and singers and the USA came together to raise money for Charity for causes like Comic Relief and it put a lot stars on map having new set of singers and bands.

Then you had theme tunes for comedians, TV Charactors like Sooty and Basil Brush that had their own shows and even went to see them after we had our Wimpy’s that weekend and was when I did dancing an performing at the Syvia Dales Dancing school and then took up Ballroom Dancing and Latin.

It will be my decade that even now I wish I could relive some of it. Not school as I hated it but playing out on my estate using break times at school to sing and dance and would learn words of songs int he charts. Such a fantastic decade of wonderful works of art.

If you like these kind of blogs then please let me know as I will post more and have a great rest of the week.

Using different ways to destress and feel on top of the world

Being happy, blog about different ways to destress, everyone can build a castle, happiness and wellbeing, life coaching blog

Hello! I have often been a stress head and I would frantically worry. It would be of the worse case scenario that I’d think about and then it would often be when I put my head on my pillow to go to sleep, and yet stay awake from Stressing and worrying.

I remember watching Big Brother once when someone of the housemates was asked do they worry and they said no cause it’s a waste of energy and I feel that is true. I would worry about not worrying and feel it is my mind and body warning me of danger, but it is also by the influence too.

885,300 Emotional Stress Stock Photos, Pictures & Royalty-Free Images - iStock

So the 1st destresser I give is have a morning, afternoon and evening ritual. So I will always have a cup of my favourite tea, Earl Grey and a good breakfast, along with playing some music and I used to watch some Youtube or when doing the school run me Henry and I would dance. In the afternoon having time to walk and explore and evenings a good dinner and some chill out time listening to music, reading a book or low level screen time catching up on some weekly TV.

The second distresser is arrange events to go to yearly or monthly to have things to look forward a throughout the year even including a holiday. We all need to get away from normality for a bit so doing different things each year or month helps to break up the weeks and months and have a date set.

We can be so hooked on existing rather than living that we all get desperate to have space and purity included so third tip is light a scented candle and read a book along with a cup of tea or hot chocolate with some favourite biscuits and again practice meditation or mindfulness. We all deserve a treat so go for it and never look back or be regretful as it is your mind saying “Make a change to everyday life”.

To feel on top of the world we have to make the effort to look after ourselves and to give ourselves 5 minutes or so to be just with our thoughts and mediation or mindfulness can help in this respect. It is about learning about what you need and so take 5 just to gain perspective and nuture yourself. Chat with those who make you feel on top of the world and are on your side. Take out negativity and just be with yourself.

So the fourth tip is, find an exercise routine to do. There are loads on Youtube that I have created a playlist for the ones I have found and want to try out. If you are paying to have Sky TV and Broadband then get your moneys worth and workout at home along with walking, running or taking part in a sport.

The fifth tip is to Take yourself out of a situation when you meet difficult people. When working in Customer service you had to be think skinned and when I was getting upset over some phone calls I moved over to the Chat and email team and it was the best move I made. It can be so hard to take yourself away in that kind of work, yet it paid well and didn’t want to leave so when I saw there was a need for another email Customer Service agent I applied and glad that I did. If you find you aren’t getting any benefit out of a job and start to withdraw yourself it means you need to change for something better. One reason why a lot of people take time off from work is due to Stress and worry.

So be good to yourself and never fear you aren’t alone in this world and can move onto better things to destress and be happy.

building our happiness and wellbeing, building up your life, creating affirmations, giving ourselves self care, supporting yourself

Hello! As I sit here listening to music and listening to One Moment in time, it makes me feel so grateful for music like this is how it makes my day everyday and I now have a notebook where I practice Affirmations, and it does feel good in doing that.

For me it is like writing a message to myself and that is exactly what it is.

I do have to kinder to myself it is important to have that relationship with myself; part of growing up is to accept myself. I have fallen out with myself a lot and been my own worst enemy.

It can be whatever message you want to tell yourself each day like one of mine is, I will make each day count, so it gives me a reason to pop out and walk to listen to my body more and be caring with myself.

I have created some more printable for you to download and print off in your Happy Journal or as a guide to use your own.

When you write a affirmation keep them growing and if it helps write Keywords that stand out. Circle them and place them in a place you will always see them.

Change and Tweek them if you want to make new ones and helps me to continue to grow and make more for myself aswell as supporting other people.

The Power of the mind/Looking after your wellbeing

Being happy, everyone can build a castle, happiness and wellness, health and wellbeing, life coaching blog

Hello and welcome! Thank you for the follows and the likes of my blog it really means the world to me. In this post I am talking about The Power of the mind/Looking after your wellbeing.

All our minds are our own and taking charge of your mind is the key to unlocking the endphorines that come with The Power of the mind.

What do I mean?

Well, it is controlling the inner critic and having the positive critic heard more than the one that says “No work today lets sit around all day”, then you feel “I’ve wasted the day and now I feel like I have accomplished nothing”.

Does this sound familiar?

So listen to the inner critic and ask it “If I listen to you how will I feel if I don’t wash my car or take a shower that day?”

Am I gonna feel good, bored or frustrated by the fact the car is still dirty and I feel clammy?

When I was getting up and then going back to bed for an extra snooze I would wake up about 12 and then feel I had lost part of the day, yet now I wake up early and start writing blogs, creating books and other tasks I have, I now feel I have more energy to work on, and then everything else fits into the day too.

Our minds work like a train station, where we start at one platform and place and then once we have completed those tasks and routine of our morning move to the next platform and station. We run by blood, water and bone, and when we run out of steam we can delay our work and proscrinate. We can avoid tasks as we see them as a huge problem and a burden and feel pressure because if we don’t it delays the other tasks we want to do.

Take your time with tasks and block them in the day and the more challenging the task reward yourself so next time we do something we have to do but don’t like we have an incentive to complete it to then move to the next station and do the things we love again.

The more difficult the task the bigger the reward.

It helps to look after yourself and stop neglecting your wellness because we need to let people hop on so we can then move for the second party of the journey and reach the final destination.

I talk about goal setting a lot and when we give ourselves too much to do it can make us more pressured and ends up delaying part of our jobs to move onto the next stop.

When you give yourself just 5 things perlist it eases the pressure and furthers our wellbeing. We aren’t robots but humans and so we need to for our wellness by kinder to ourselves, check out this video where I share the ways in which I do will be doing that: How should we be kinder to ourselves. It is important we give ourselves slack, as we aren’t made to multi-task but me focussed on one thing at a time.

Our minds can get clogged up and so anything you can jot down to schedule do so and then go through the wants to the haves and then circle a few and the less to do’s the more goals we can set.

Look after yourself and give yourself some credit rather than piling on the amount of things to do and enjoy life more.

We aren’t put on this planet to work ourselves to the bone but with balance and stability we can do more by giving ourselves less.

Inspiring stories: The Years of the English Football League

Blogger, everyone can build a castle, inspiring people, Inspiring stories, life coaching blog

Football and rugby were both from the same sport and was more like handball as they could kick and handle the ball when football first started.

Now it is our leading sport and worth millions that some clubs grew and others went into Administration, example Wimbledon football club then became later on AFC Wimbledon and change split into Milton Keynes football club.

Aldershot went down and Chelsea was sold to Ken Bates in the 80’s and bought the club which was only a pound.

The leagues are now very different when it all used to be Divisions not leagues. The top division was Division one and now is the Premier League, Division two is now the Championship league, League one, League two and Three. All clubs that a top flight have changed the way in running a team, cause managers and players would sign long life contracts and once a play signed a football club contract that would be it and would work through their contract before they left to go to other clubs.

Racism in football: 'It's not black and white' - CNN

The top clubs have changed too and now we see that Chelsea, Spurs, Liverpool, Man City and Man utd are all tops teams and often will go head to head in winning the Premiership, Champions League and still the FA Cup.

See above an old picture of the players under Bobby Robson, who managed English up until 1990 and was one of the longest men in charge of the England team now many from this picture have become coaching, pundits, commentators and presenters, forgetting that these guys all played professional football and created a legacy that still gets talked about today.

Who had thought Gary Lineker who had male admires ad woman too, who was always chosen without hesitation to play club and international football would be a adveriser for Walkers Crisps and now top presenter for BBC and English Soccer.

When Gazza came along then the team changed again and was a player that saw for the first time a guy in tears over a second booking so he wouldn’t have had the chance to play in the World cup final and was one of the best players under Bobby Robson and for Tottenham Hotspur to have played on the English soil.

Maradonna was a leading player for Argentina, when it came to them taking drugs it overshadowed both their capabilities and feel they needed more guidance in their play and not feel that had to do this in order to make a name for themselves.

John Barnes who originally played for Watford started to shine when he moved to Liverpool football club but struggled when playing for England as everyone doubted his performance being a non stop creater and scorer for Liverpool but got a lot of stick from England fans for not being the same.

This can happen but I watched his football and asked “Where was the problem?” I thought his performance was good as he always got involved didn’t shy away from playing international football so for me it was “Well perhaps you are expecting too much” and they was. He had flare and knew how to keep the ball along the field without it being taken back by the other team. I think supporters compare too much at was the issue, as he did put 100% into is game so where again was the problem? He created goals, he passed, he was brilliant at ball control and worked the left side with no issues at all.

When football changed and Sky TV became it became a lot of money to fork out to watch football and it made it very commercialised and took some of the spark of English football away. I loved it on a Sunday when we would have our roast dinner after socialising with friends in a pub in chelsea to then sit down and watch the football it set you up for the weekend and everyone tuned in.

Then you had cable and they too tried to make money from the game but Sky dominated and became the leader of the UK TV world and a massive influence that not all clubs got featured like before. Only FA Cup games would at one time show on normal TV or we’d listen to it on the radio.

When going to visit a real match it was part of the culture and I didn’t care about seats and standing I just loved the atmosphere and being part of the soccer world, and wearing the shirts and sometimes coats and jackets it made the game even more excitable and then when I bought a season ticket and would go on my own it again was brilliant and I loved being with other season ticket holders. You became a community not just a fan base and hearing fans sing it gave me goosebumps and made me fall even more in love with the game.

I will share more inspiring stories on this site and will talk about the Athletics and the Olympics.

Life is a pattern of many twist and turns, and often we can get lost in life and having a regular routine, that we often stay within our shell and only come out when we feel “Is it safe to do so?”.With the Lockdown many have been struggling but to help to follow a different pattern we have to change of lifestyle to have a much better one, even in Lockdown.

Please check out a new Online course: https://carrieseducationnetwork.thinkific.com/

I have also written a new book which is a comedy, check it out via this link:

10 Good Habits to Have in Life to Be More Successful

Here are ten habits that can help:

  1. Do one thing at the weekend which is different to what you do during the week, and this can be a breakfast, time to do an exercise routine and just something that separates the week to the weekend.
  2. Have a night off where if you are a mum and you can have someone take care off your children one evening that take them up on it.
  3. Have that glass of wine, and sit out in the garden reflecting on each day and on the next day
  4. Do a Zoom chat of someone you have not seen for a while or face time them and arrange a time and place to meet if you don’t live close by
  5. Have time watching the sunset and end the day naturally like when waking up get yourself a SAD light that can help during Winter when it gets dark earlier and still get your Vitamin D
  6. Don’t put it off tomorrow do it today and then tomorrow you have freedom to do something else that you want to do
  7. Change your hairstyle. I am wanting to get my hair done and dye it again, and so gonna plan that in the summer when finally lockdown has shifted
  8. Recycle and get rid of too much waste. I always look at items purchased and think “Can I use that for something else?” example I have Jaffa cake box that I ue to keep my desk tidy and for my supplements, a jar of coffee and my body spray and deodarant
  9. Reduce the pennies. I was tempted to buy myself a notebook but I didn’t as I have plenty to use, and will use these up before I buy another
  10. Use a favourite mug to make your brew or have a certain glass you like to drink from, it then make sure you dehydrate especially when it is a hot summers day

All these habits are positive and doable so even if you do one or two of them it still can make a difference to your lifestyle and have better days, months and years.

Inspiring Stories/Decades of the Trooping of the colour/God save the Queen

everyone can build a castle, royal traditions, the monarchy, The Queen and the trooping of the colour, Yearly events of Britain and England

So, I watched part of the Trooping of the colour, where the Queen gets saluted by her army, The Queen Guards, and seeing them for real for myself and being in the grounds of Buckingham Palace seeing it for real, as a young child, loved it as it marks the Queen’s rein of being The Head of the Monarchy, and gets the Red arrows doing a fly path marking the Queens second birthday too.

BBC One - Trooping the Colour, 2021

It has been going on for centuries and mainly began when Queen Victoria was the head of the Monarchy who out of the Royals was the long head of state in the world, and lived onto like Queen Elizabeth to Jubilee.

The Queen’s army is the biggest of the world, and they even live in the Quarters of Buckingham Palace and Windsor to support the Queen to make sure she is well protected and has had her ups and downs but always kept a steady head and she really gets her role in being in the Monarchy and being a Grandmother of the world.

People often ask why does the Queen have two birthday’s but I don’t?

Reason, because she is the Queen and she is doing her job as the Queen to keep these traditions going, and it is her right. You could have two birthdays by celebrating the Queens birthdays too. As its nice weather why not have a BBQ to celebrate it.

The Trooping of the colour is a yearly event and it had to change due to social distancing rules, but it is good that even with Lockdown it’s been able to still be celebrated and it is a mark of respect to celebrate the running of our Royal Family and having a Queen. This year instead of it happening in Buckingham Palace was now at her second home Windsor Castle, due to not being able to celebrate normally by the Royal Balcony of Buckingham Palace.

Everything has to in order and precise, and how she likes it to go.

So if you have never seen it why not have a cup of tea or coffee and watch it.

Many thanks for reading,

Carrie X
