end of another year, goals, habits, new year, reflecting on 2022

It is new years eve and tomorrow it will be 2023, and soon it is all systems go again, but not gong to forget 2022, it has been okay for me. I am happy that I did complete the writing of my book I wrote about yesterday and going to make it a tradition that I publish a book by the end of each year to publish as I approach another year.

I didn’t complete the writing of my Christmas book and want to make changes to it and so still got to achieve this goal and have a book about Christmas. Many may not believe in goals but I do, as I like challenging myself. It gives me such a good energetic feeling and looking over 2022 I really liked the challenging to read a book a month as I have read some really good books, check out my videos All About Books. I do video book reviews and due to do another as talk about the book I read and finished during the Christmas holidays.

Doing my reset and for Autumn and going to do another this year as it made me feel free. It is good to have space and I plan tomorrow to do part of it and film, so I will let you know if this happens, and I liked reaching out to you through my Life Coaching blogs. It was good to go through my emails and still got to do more to empty them out, and so yesterday did a big clear out as I have run out on storage on my google account.

This year I began writing newsletters and love putting these together and I am glad that you have liked them too.

Another year means more challenges to come and creating new habits this year, like not having my phone near my bed has made such a difference and making my bed each day. There is more I want to do, as they are helping me so much in making sure I look after my self aswell as other people and concentrating on what makes me happy.

So lets all have a good new year and celebrate a new year,

Happy new year everyone.

When it comes to doing a Reset it is clearing out the feelings you have as you move from Summer to Autumn, get rid of negative thoughts and welcoming a new change of weather and time. Getting up the dark and going home in the dark, can have an impact on our feelings, so to help with this is to get to alter your way of thinking, by making changes to it.

Photo by Vidal Balielo Jr. on Pexels.com
  1. Use a SAD light, as getting up when it is dark and make us more prone to put our alarms on snooze and so getting a SAD light still make you feel more awake if you suffer with SAD, or for me I use m little lamp to help me become awake and I set my alarm earlier to help me awake better. Cold showers can help too and go for a run or walk if you can in the morning wake us up also.
  2. Have a daily ritual where by in the mornings you have a drink, have your clothes ready to put on and your croissant, anything that helps you to function through from the morning to the evening, where you wind down ready for bed.
  3. Set out your day. I plan the night before and use my weekly block schedule I showed in a previous blog, where I have set different task for each day to help what been done, going to do next and what to do after those tasks have been completed.
  4. Change your home. A lot of people, watching Youtube mainly, change their homes for the Autumn and winter, and when I do get a new home of my own again, will be something I will be doing, and it can really help prepare and enjoy each season through the changes you have been making in your home.
  5. Spend time getting extra rest. Doing the school runs, fitting in some writing and making a meal for each day can be tiring so set a time to have some extra rest.
  6. Go for a family walk. If you don’t get time to spend time as a family then set time. Like the weekends to go on a autumn or winter walk, and why not pop in a coffee shop together and have coffee and and walk regularly.
  7. Remember to have a good weekend meal. I love Autumn as it can be a great time to have a traditional Sunday Roast and so why not make one whilst watching a good Sunday and Autumnal movie, followed by a nice tea in the evening whilst watching a good Sunday Drama on the TV or Netflix.

It is so good to try these ways to get used to a different season again, and make the most of each day and create more happiness in your everyday life going with the changes of the seasons.

april newsletter, blog talking about saint george's day, celebrating yearly occasions, life coaching site, self help site

Hello, so thank you for your likes and follows and really means the world to me, and allows me to see what topics you like me sharing on this site.

Tomorrow it is St George’s yet it doesn’t always get celebrated or publicized, and gives me more reason to celebrate the day, and I am English and should be able to celebrate without feeling I shouldn’t.

It was when St George died and so for me I like celebrating these occasions and dates.

What special date you’d like to celebrate?

Does it inspire you?

What I get out of it is being present and being proud of where I come from.

I think we should feel that way. Not to hold it against anybody or to look down upon someone, but as apart of your heritage and have fun with it. I know there will be a lot of people celebrating the Platinum Jubilee, and have street parties. I love that we do that in England and being part of it is why I celebrate such occasions. It is good to pass these special days down like Easter too, to my son.

Check out my new Newsletter for April, which has a list of special days I like to celebrate, and of what is to come next in my content and bring more to the table and help and support you all.

creating new things to your life, do things for yourself, looking after yourself, make life your own, self help blog

I don’t see my life as perfect, but someting that is growning as I am, and I feel that I am still learning, and really we learn everyday.

You need to often be ruthless and if we feel out of control, it is important to gain it back and not allow others detate, but respectng people more and have respect for ourselves too.

What are your belief systems around money? Around receiving? Worthiness? What is money? Join me for an online workshop w… | Inspirational quotes, Words, Life quotes

We need be with like minded people, who want to see us grow and have a life that makes you happy, not feel like a tug of war.

It should be about you for a change and so take time to be with yourself aswell as socialising, be with yourself.

If there are people who can’t accept you, for who you are then, that is fine, I am not expecting everyone to be my BFF, but I still want to the best for them.

Take a lunch break if you often don’t, as working all day can tire us out and when this happens to me, I often find it is hard to put one leg in front of the other, forget working.

Have a holiday, if you often don’t and even if it is staying at home, so not necessarily going anywhere or staying anywhrere else, just time to do different things.

Like booking a manicure or a pedicure, visit the gym, go for a walk and take yourself on holiday somewhere if you need a change of senory.

Create a yearly tradition if you don’t have any, or the ones you had faded away. This could be like I do, go for a Christmas day walk and and restart my fitness routine and meet up with people I haven’t seen for a while.

Have that time to go through what you want to add to your life, that will help you not fall of the wagon, and after half term if you are a mother like me, to use that time to go to a Spa or on a retreat somewhere, if you can find a friend or family you can trust looking after the kids whilst you have a break and just be good to yourself.

It is about taking time out for yourself and why not after you drop you kids back to school, go for a regular brisk walk somewhere.

I do write a parenting blog and written books too, check out my wordpress site, https://theparentingadventurestipsandtricks.wordpress.com

Summer Project 2021/Can your family history and your own history dictate your future?

Summer times for me as a kid was getting out even when it rained to different places and meet different people and my holidays as a kid were full of having fun and long lasting memories. Now I trying to do the same for my son and other children that I may have, and I do like have a happy journal and try to keep those memories going, and one day the can read to look back themselves.

I think your family history can have a massive input on how you are when becoming an adult, and I loved going on holiday with a lot of families it made them extra special and it introduced different cultures and socialising.

When it comes to history it can dictate your future as you find that you are forever learning and it is good to have things you learned as a kid into your world as aduilt, like for example, working in a Holiday Camp, as my first holidays were spent in Clacton and it has influenced me to wanting to holiday again and would love to go on a holiday and rent a cabin.

I come from a huge family and loved it when I saw my relatives and looking back on the Christmases we had, sorry about mentioning the C word only being Auigust and near to Setpember, made me want to have similar Christmases and do all the things I have dreamed of doing. My nan loved it when we, my family all got together and was very family orientated.

My nan was very good at looking after people, and for me along with my Nanny rose were proper grandparents and I still love horse racing and have gone to see it as a kid and would love to do this again, and my one dream since a kid was to go to a ladies day meeting, and dress up.

So family history can definitely dictate the future, but of the good things to make more good things in your life today and the future and learn from the bad to not make the same mistakes as want others have made and yourself.

Inspiring Stories/Decades of the Trooping of the colour/God save the Queen

everyone can build a castle, royal traditions, the monarchy, The Queen and the trooping of the colour, Yearly events of Britain and England

So, I watched part of the Trooping of the colour, where the Queen gets saluted by her army, The Queen Guards, and seeing them for real for myself and being in the grounds of Buckingham Palace seeing it for real, as a young child, loved it as it marks the Queen’s rein of being The Head of the Monarchy, and gets the Red arrows doing a fly path marking the Queens second birthday too.

BBC One - Trooping the Colour, 2021

It has been going on for centuries and mainly began when Queen Victoria was the head of the Monarchy who out of the Royals was the long head of state in the world, and lived onto like Queen Elizabeth to Jubilee.

The Queen’s army is the biggest of the world, and they even live in the Quarters of Buckingham Palace and Windsor to support the Queen to make sure she is well protected and has had her ups and downs but always kept a steady head and she really gets her role in being in the Monarchy and being a Grandmother of the world.

People often ask why does the Queen have two birthday’s but I don’t?

Reason, because she is the Queen and she is doing her job as the Queen to keep these traditions going, and it is her right. You could have two birthdays by celebrating the Queens birthdays too. As its nice weather why not have a BBQ to celebrate it.

The Trooping of the colour is a yearly event and it had to change due to social distancing rules, but it is good that even with Lockdown it’s been able to still be celebrated and it is a mark of respect to celebrate the running of our Royal Family and having a Queen. This year instead of it happening in Buckingham Palace was now at her second home Windsor Castle, due to not being able to celebrate normally by the Royal Balcony of Buckingham Palace.

Everything has to in order and precise, and how she likes it to go.

So if you have never seen it why not have a cup of tea or coffee and watch it.

When I lost my spark for Christmas.

An image from https://www.pinterest.co.uk/pin/82683343132677806/

In the year 1999 my world appeared to crumble in front of me as it was the first Christmas that not all the family were their celebrate, as my mum and dad had split up for good this time, and was getting divorced, my brother and I fights got worse that we both would hit out at one another as soon as we saw each other and not long after that Christmas my nan died, (my mums mum).

I knew it was going to be different when earlier in the year of 1999 my mum told me whilst driving to North End road, but I was some what prepared because I saw it was going to happen a long time before then, and said “Yes I know, I had a feeling that was coming”, but I did end up spending a lot of time out, not wanting to face the music of it.

The reality of it was stronger than the thought of it, and I didn’t want to be involved, but I was, because as soon as it happened my dad would be very angry saying some very nasty things to me, about my mum, like I hope she dies of cancer and if I see her again, I’ll stab her and my mum then would say, Your dad cheated on me, she moved us to North Sheen, near Richmond, because my dad kicking off because of the nose of our neighbours living in our block and it was just being between a tug of war.

I am rewriting my book called, The Peabody Years, as it was quite small compared to what I wanted it to be and there is more I would like to add, but in the year of 1999 we had been living in our first houses in North Sheen since the year of 1996.

That year in 1999 was the first time I had ever dreaded Christmas and wanted it to go away. I had gone into a depression that I can not describe, and found it hard to even get out of bed.

I had changed jobs and was not happy at all. I hated where I was working and resigned as we got closer to the festive season. The spark I had for the Christmas had gone and I thought it would never return, and I was getting drunk a lot before then, and finally I came out of it after the new year, after reading a book by Paul McKenna, called, “I can make you confident in 7 days” and it was what I needed and yes it helped me immensely.

I was so used before this happened in 1999 used to traditional Christmases, where we would go to my nans house in Finborough Road Estate in Earls Court, and my grandad when he was alive, would cut the turkey, we’d open our gifts before dinner as my I or one of my cousins would help him hand out the gifts under my nans tree, and then after dinner my grandparents, my parents and my Aunty and Uncle would play a card game.

So when Christmas of 1999 approached I knew that those days were surely over and it hit my like a knife, that Christmases a I knew them would never happen again.

It did take a long time to get my spark for Christmas to come back, as I for a long while became a humbug, and saw it like any other day.

I hated the way I felt, and I had also begun to starve myself. Yes I had an eating disorder and it was when I passed out at my nans, I knew I had to turn my life around, as I was frightened of how much weight I lost. I lost strength in my arms, I had no energy to do anything and was constantly feeling guilty about everything I ate.

To not make this blog not too long, I did end up finding my spark again when I went to Florida one year and after my son was born.

I decided to also help bring back my spark for Christmas I needed to create a new set of Christmas traditions and that is I always like to do a Christmas run or long walk each year, and on boxing day too. Another one, is I like to decorate for the Christmas cheer whilst playing Christmas songs, and go to a Christmas market, and borough market in London, and have a cup of Mulled Wine or Winter cider.

My sons first Christmas being a mum was different too, as Henry was born unexpectantly premature and again I didn’t think much about it, but from his next Christmas I wanted it to be magical for him, like it was when I was a kid, and want to continue to do so, for when I have more children.

If you have had a familiar experience around Christmas time I would love to hear your story. You can leave a comment below.

Also if you are new to my blogs then you may not know that I like to raise money this time of year, for one of my charities I like to support, and this year I am raising money for a Charity called Tommy’s who raise money to support families whom have had stillbirths and premature births.
