Hi yes it is that time of the month again where I share what I have been up to and what is coming up in my content. If you didn’t know I am a mum and this month been writing blogs on this site and creating videos on my Youtube channel (https://www.youtube.com/@typicallondongal)
So here it is, and I hope you like the new look and that you enjoy reading my other ones for this year, I love putting these together and sharing what I have been up to and what is to come, and your response to my blogs and videos means the world.
Here I am it is Sunday and feel a little bad that I didn’t do my morning walk that I have been doing because I was lazy and so I wrote down in one of my notebooks of what I want my Sundays to look like, and so going to make sure that me and my son will have this time as it does feel so good and not allow my lazy part of mind set in, so I miss doing this again.
It is up to me to do this not on anyone else. You have to take ownership of your life, to make changes and what you gonna do to build your dreams. I still had a good day, met my husband (m son’s dad) for a coffee and then did a bit of walking and so wasn’t completely lazy but we have such a good time together and we did some walking on Friday and played some rugby on Saturday, but I love my walks on Sunday.
When it is raining it can be tough but whenever the weather is good I like to go out for a walk and it really is refreshing and so what do you want your days to look like? Like Sunday’s. What can you do on Sunday that you can’t do in the week? I did have two lovely coffees this morning but next time I will take my coffee with me and get outdoors on a Sunday morning and explore.
It was even helping me with my running and don’t want to stop. I have got to grips in managing my life , but I want to create more good habits. I like feeling alive and ready for each day and I like doing my tidy in the mornings and catching up on a Sunday on my lists and set myself up for the week.
It is also is a day where I have a good dinner thanks to my step dad and have a home cooked meal, and now I want reshape my afternoons. I want to be productive and use them to exercise, by walking more and with the son, and walk through the parks and common near by. This will really help lower my travel costs each day and eat more sensibly and do some writing and drafting more blogs and videos to build my blogs and Youtube channel.
So it is up to me to take action and what I want my days to look like. It is the little things that makes a difference to me and use my time wisely and productively. I like my mornings and evenings, and when my son comes home from school, making his dinner and playing football, along with some dancing, as we do with the radio on do some dancing and just be active which I want to keep doing, but simple logical ways, that make me feel I have had a good day and moving forward to my dreams and ambitions.
I want to work outside as want to do more to make a difference and not feel I can’t because I don’t have the experience, as I was watching an interview and she talks about how she applied of a secretarial job and was wondering whether to apply for it because it said you need experience and got the job.
I have always been super ambitious and always had aspirations, and that has never changed. I have lived and I had always wanted to go on holiday during Christmas time and I did went first class to america and it was my last big holiday for a while and was a dream I had always wanted, and if I did that once I know that is something else I tick off my list.
You should never give up your dreams and what you do today can effect your life tomorrow.
We as humans can make a difference to the world and create so much. Only have to look at people like Bob Geldof who created Band Aid and King Charles who created The Princes trust helping young people have a better life and create amazing things for other people. I remembering a story in a magazine I used to read and she talked about how she was made redundant and didn’t know what to do, so she saw that the Princes trust did a Mentor’s programme and she helped a guy to find work and changed her life.
I have this morning getting my sons bed ready for the weekend, cleaning a pair of trainers as they got super muddy, at a festival in London, which I have filmed so a new weekend in a life video will be put together as it was really good fun and I have just put up a week in a life video check it out via this link: https://youtu.be/w06X8BlQx8s
It took me a while to wake up this morning but now when I get up will do a tidy up, and it has made a huge difference to how I feel and feel that I have taken action so I can concentrate in working on my blogs, filming, uploading and writing my new book.
Many may say “Good for you” but this not gloating but sharing how I like to live and how changing my morning routine has helped me get stuff done and not procrastinating and love being productive in the morning and running errands rather than later on in the day. It does depend on lifestyle, check out my Pinterest board that I have created for lifestyle topics and tools:
If you find in the mornings hectic then then what takes the most time? Choose a time in the day when you can get things done and use the morning to get the kids out of the door and choose what you want to do, until you feel ready to tackle errands and chores, then break them up, rather doing so many things at once.
I do put things off, like I want to dye my hair but by the time I get home it can be late and then tiredness sets in so going to get it done at the weekend in the morning and I know I don’t have to dye my hair, but I like changing my hair colour and changing my image as I get bored with the way I look, and so to help reset I like to give myself a make over and you do have to look after yourself and so getting it done in the morning will set my day on a high, and I know once I get it done I will feel better and planning my wardrobe and adding to it and I like to plan what I like to wear each day in the evening and get dressed as soon as I have a shower, but will be a bit lazy at the weekend but I like taking it easy at the weekend and now in the mornings my son and I go for a walk and I love this time we have and so if you want to make changes to your lifestyle then get it done in the morning and then you have a whole day to yourself.
Now I will be doing some more Reset videos for my Reset series for 2023 as it has really helped in rein myself back to go back on lists not completed and go through what still needs to be completed before planning anything else and change my habits to stop putting things off and I did a video on my main Youtube channel about Resetting your life, https://youtu.be/kmR-iY_qQNU because it has made a difference with trying not to do too much, and break down all the things I want to do, like spending time with my son and I keep myself informed of what my son has been learning at school, if he has any school trips and I will often volunteer to go with my son to help and that I write each day and stay on track with my blogs and working on different projects I like to do each year, aswell taking time away and taking regular breaks and making sure I sleep well, and be properly rested.
When we have many tasks to complete it can make us procrastinate and not be bothered. So I will do a brain dump and recently using one note created a tab called “What I really want to do this week”, and this has helped to go through what is important to me and what can be put on hold and be done on another day. See screen shot I took of this new tab.
I will be making changes to the videos I do for my channels and thinking of creating a different channel for my Life coaching videos and like doing days in a life videos, but I would like your feedback. So check out my channels see listed here and let me know what type of videos would you like me to do and if you have topics you’d like me to talk about.
Anything that is going good for me I continue, but if I feel that there are areas of my life not working like changing my morning routine, I will then go through it and change it so it is better and I am liking my mornings now.
I like my evenings, but not liking my afternoons because of my diet, and want better lunches, because I find myself going for snacks, rather then having a more healthier lunch that fills me up and boosts my energy as the one thing I have been doing after lunch time is a workout.
Set yourself time to spend in working on you. If you want to have a bath but you worry in case you get interrupted or you feel you don’t have time, then schedule it and pre-plan to see if someone can look after your kids so you can have a nice bath with a glass of wine.
Have a bath with your kids, I used to take baths with my son and I know some people will frown upon this, but sorry it is a great way to save money and bond with your kids and then he took baths on his own I would sit on the toilet sit with lid down and sing songs and talk and good time to catch up on your kids day and now we have a good night time routine too. Let me know if you’d like me to do routine videos on my main channel Typical London Gal.
I have created a board on my Pinterest called Planning your life check it out:
And I will be adding to this board and check out my Pinterest as I have a lot of my content on there that I write and am on Social media so check these links to check these out:
This blog hits on imposter syndrome where we feel we don’t deserve to be successful because we doubt what we are capable of and any failure feels such a big deal and feel that there are loads of people doing what you want to do already, and think “Who do you think you are?” “You can’t compete” and what chance you have in becoming successful too. Like music as I start this blog I am watching Eurovision Song contest, and really anyone can win it, but there are some many countries taking part and I bet some have thought they don’t stand a chance. This is from watching interviews of Bucks Fizz because watching many interviews they have all said that they didn’t think they’d win it, but they did.
This was when my mum and I did the Thames Path challenge completing 25KM and never thought I’d do that but I did.
When I first began to learn Ballroom dancing there was a girl called Claire and one other girl who were on their Gold, as when I first started I did my Bronze, then you did your Silver and Claire when I went to my first dancing presentation night, won the Cup for having the highest marks. I remember getting goosebumps and my heart pounding thinking could it be me, but I had only first started, then a girl name Lesley had won by one of the adults who had won before wanted the next person to win it and was Lesley who passed her exam, her Silver with flying colours and did hope it would be me one day, but didn’t think I’d ever win it.
Often we can feel that we are punching above our weight and “Who would want to be interested in us?” and when we hear someone say something negative about us that can contribute to your feelings of not good enough. When I played football at my Secondary school I remember a girl saying I couldn’t even kick a ball and so I stop going. Yes should have taken no notice and carried on but didn’t, but learning from that I have become resilient to criticism and it makes me more determined to succeed and when running a football team I could see that many of my players confidence would be affected when playing in matches, because they make mistakes but this also showed me how much they really cared, and not being biased they were good and we did win many of the matches they played.
We all can a level of doubt its a human feeling but for me I see this now that it prepare’s me of what if it goes wrong and then visualise me succeeding too, and the question I ask myself reading many books by Paul McKenna is,”What if I was unstoppable and visualise that” and it has helped, and listening to Mel Robbins, who wrote about the 5 second rule, who asks the same thing. What do you picture? looking at this person how is she standing? is she smiling? what is she wearing?
Create a plan. I always brainstorm, I will write a list of each project and goals I want to achieve and this really helps me a lot.
When we put our mind to it we can achieve so much. It is perseverance which is a word I have used a lot but it is and any setbacks address them and learn from them. We all meet bumps in the road, but it is our actions that speak louder than words and make a difference.
Si what are you going to do today that can make a difference to your life right now?
I wanted to take my son to a music concert and I did yesterday, I wanted to take Henry to his first football match and we did on his first birthday, like my mum and dad did when me and my brother were kids, and is like a tradition and wanted to win the cup for the highest marks in dancing and I did. I wanted to do the Great North run and did, this helped boost my confidence to continue to charity runs and walks and inspired others because it helped my fitness my feelings with life and people when doing these events are so friendly and are complete strangers and they showed me what I was capable of. Set goals, continue doing positive habits and keep visualising and keep taking action.
So if you have dreams and ambitions then it is time to take action, but yourself belief has to be good because what you project you will receive back and so what is causing you to not believe in yourself? What is your self belief saying to you?
Keeping a journal and writing notes on how you feel about yourself can help and where did these feelings stem from?
I have never been seen as clever or artistic, and school played a huge part in it. I remember when I did a school play a lot of the pupils at the school said how pretty I looked with make up on and so thought “Oh so I am not pretty without make up?” and it did make me feel sad, and then I was told by another girl when I was at secondary school that I am basically boring, because of keeping on about The Bill which was one of my favourite programmes on TV, but then she became a fan, and I didn’t resentful of shout, and respected her honesty and so I did stop, and it never became a slagging match but she would cause arguments so not sure of her true intentions but looking back I could be annoying and I could have been defensive but I wasn’t. I was not cool about it after school but now when thinking about it feel differently and I took it on board of what she was saying, and yes I could get on people’s nerves and it takes a lot to speak up and say it, so I stopped and didn’t see it as a personal attack, which could have happened but that she was being true and we still remained friends and still hung out, so I respected her for talking with me and talked it through rather then it lead to a disagreement.
Dwelling has played a huge part, and I think about what I could have done, when thinking about those events at school mentioned above, and thought perhaps I should have punched her on the nose but what good would that had done? I would have gotten detention and suspended so it wouldn’t have been worth it to lash out, instead I took it on the chin, and we carried on being friends as said, and she wasn’t saying she hated me and that we should stop being friends but was calm and I understood.
If they are being rude to you and just being spiteful, then rise above it and it tends to not be about you, but about them. Noone is your dictator but yourself and this doesn’t mean being ignorant and not listening to others but if they are vicious to you because in fact it can be their own insecurity that is talking and not actually you, is to say something like “Okay I heard you and thank you for your honesty and how you feel and will take your comments on board and will stop doing, I am sorry it annoyed you”.
In order to build our belief with our self we need to listen to others and when they compliment you never throw it back into their face, and use it to build your mindset of seeing that you are an amazing person with a good heart and mind, and good that people look up to you, because people do, and when someone wanted to join me when I began to do running or walking for charity, it really made me feel amazing and rewarding.
I have accomplished a lot in my life now at the age of 44 and there is still more I want to achieve, but I have had to do some work on my mental health and self belief. I have had to stop being afraid and take risks and learned from my mistakes and get rid of scars and keep moving forward.
I never thought I would run a half marathon but I have and it was tough and I was done by the 5th mile but I kept on going and struggled to walk the next day but still did it and felt so amazing and surprised in what my body can do. I carried a child in my tummy, I inspired others in doing my runs and walks to fundraise as said, and made a difference in peoples lives.
When I see ticks on my lists is an accomplishment and another step for me to grow and learn and continue to build my knowledge and understanding of life and where I want to go, and where I want them to lead to..I want to get back into doing charity walks and runs, and so I try to do some walking each day and when my son goes out on his scooter will run. I want to finish my next book, so been doing a bit of writing each day, and I want to help my son with his learning so will make it a must on a Sunday for him to do his homework and do some extra learning when at home, by playing different games and want to set a good example for my son, as he has helped me to grow and get to grips with my life, and self belief.
Sometimes we have to learn to lead others and felt I did that when it came to doing dancing, which I did until I was 16 and looking for work when I left school and then like I say go into to running and walking to raise money for charity. I did football coaching which was a dream I had and enjoyed it and would like to do that again as it was rewarding and then worked at a holiday camp which is something I wanted to do as a kid and I feel proud in myself in that I did that and as said there is still so much I want to do and to do that I have to have self belief, and so do you.
So lets build up our lives to help build others lives too and believe in conquering your dreams.
So it is here my printable for my Life Coaching programme Summer Project 2023 and topics I will talking about in my blogs and will do some videos too.
Let me know if you prefer blogs or videos, as this programme is for you and if you have anything you’d like to share then please do in the comments below.
If you have any questions please leave below and what you’d like me to share. Life is precious and so is time. We try so much to make others happy but we forgotten about yourself and so I want you to put yourself first for a change and make time just for you to recharge and reset your life and that is my motive and intention to help build your happiness like I have in my life and things I have learned now being 44 years old.
Yes here we are and I am so glad for the feedback from my previous yearly life coaching programme blogs and videos, I want to begin today and was going to put it on hold because my son was unwell and had time off school, but he is a lot better so lets begin.
I have a printable that I am creating, and so this will be up by end of the week and it is all about what is coming up and what I will sharing in this years life Coaching programme.
So first of all I am not a medical professional, I am a mum and have worked in Customer Service, worked in Childcare and worked at a holiday resort but recently did some courses in Mental Health and how it affects adults and children as I want to work in Childcare and Healthcare.
I wanted to create this is programme from sharing my own story who has had a mental health illness and struggled in life and feel I know about life now being in my 40’s and had to work on myself to be a good mum, daughter, sister and overall a good human being.
I want to help people be happy and not feel that they are alone. I want you to be able to create dreams and ambitions and build a life that makes you smile and a reason to get up in the mornings. There were times where I’d dread each day and that is not a good way to feel. It can be draining and I have suffered with stress and anxiety.
My life has changed a lot and had to make serious choices like looking at my own actions that has caused people to be upset and angry, I have had to work on my principals and focus on what is important and take it easy as I kept getting burn out.
Life isn’t about doing 100 things a day or running 5 miles a day everyday when you have kids and pets, but setting time to just be with yourself and looking after yourself and doing what makes you happy. I like to exercise and glad it is part of my life, but I also like to rest and relax.
I like to have my first cup of tea in he morning and then a coffee and doing my son’s breakfast and getting ready for the day. That is an area I still want to work on, as I want to make more of an effort in terms of appearance as I do go into autopilot and go straight on to my laptop. I am not saying I have it all sussed but have a good understanding of life and want people to feel good. I want people to not deprive themselves and help get rid of the bad parts of their lives and how they feel about their lives.
There is always room for growth and getting to know yourself and being true to yourself. I love writing and I do want it to be one day my income, and be a professional writer and do have books already on Amazon. You can check them out under the names, Carrie Challoner, Carrie Lee Holmes and Carrie Holmes. I want to continue to be help my son and help him grow, by setting an example and help him follow his dreams and ambitions. At the moment he wants to be a train, which I have had to explain is not a living thing, but can work on the trains. Who knows what ambitions our kids have, and we can learn a lot from our children.
Just as a I write this first blog I am in my pyjamas bottoms on because it is bank holiday Monday and feel that I will get items done by being more relaxed and go with the flow. It is good to have a schedule but adding relaxation time is a must, and I like being snug.
So I hope you enjoy my Summer Project 2023 and all feedback is welcomed.
It talking about the being the underdog and in writing this I feel I have been a underdog when taking my dancing because I made a few mistakes and always passed but there were other pupils at my dancing school that were better and it took me ages to have 100% all high scores and when I played football, when I was picked to play at my Primary school was the underdog but I still played and to be the best you have to play against the best. Andy Murray was against Federer but then went on to win Wimbledon and other tournaments.
England football team against teams like Argentina, Netherlands and Germany we have been underdogs yet we still won and countries like Brazil, but we still qualify and still got to the final stages and from defeat you learn, and Gareth Southgate still turns up and picks players who could possibly be winners and stand a chance against teams that are seen as top rated international teams.
It doesn’t mean we have a chance, in fact it means we have more and seeing others succeed can be really a boost to be good at what we want to be good at or be better at. I was already naturally bodied to dance and play sports. That is down to coordination, but so did many of the other dancers I would dance with and made me improve and put in the effort in to be just as good.
This means competing against yourself and be better than what you originally was and challenging yourself, turning up to every lesson and visualising me doing the routines and steps, to practicing at home and watching professional dancing.
I want to pay a tribute to one of the judges that was on Strictly Come Dancing, Len Goodman, who whilst writing this blog I found that he has passed away as I went to see it and is one of my favourite TV shows and was his last series. He was such a brilliant judge and had watched him for years when you had the show before strictly, called Come Dancing and never got to see him dance but was such a lovely guy and wished I had as he was always cheering for those who were underdogs that never danced before and are the ones that I find most inspiring because it takes guts to want to perform in front of millions of people all over Britain and not danced before. Not saying I dislike the ones that are good and already contenders to win it, but it’s difficult and many like Ore Aduba who I did meet, have gone on to win it, and not danced ever. He didn’t even dance at his wedding.
It is a lot about trial and error, picking simple little tips and learning as you grow to be the best from being the underdog.developing your skills. We all have things to learn and I am the underdog being a self published author but this makes me want to write more books and continue to work towards having a best seller. It does take time but with persistence and determination it can happen, what you put into your dreams and ambitions is everything, so stand up if you have been underdog and gone on to be successful in areas in your life. You can leave a comment below, and love being inspired by other people its what helps me to grow within myself and out, and good luck with achieving the things in your life I have your back all the way,.
Well since 2021 I wanted to help others during Lockdown with my blogs as it was tough on all of use.so wanted to reach out and make a difference. At that time I was recovering from struggling with my mental health but I wanted to help people at the same time by teaching about building your life for a better year that has helped me. Life comes with challenges however much you avoid them but you can get back on your feet. If I can do it so can you. That is my moto. I want to see others succeed and be happy. It can take a lot of time but once your there you find that it is easy to control.
If you wanted to know I was diagnosed with Psychosis, and was in a bad way for a while. I did take medication and spent some time in a Mental Health hospital and was what I needed. I was depressed and lacked energy, and was very anxious and it affected me socially and emotionally too.
I got my life on track by starting to pick my son up from school again and by changing my habits and doing the things I love and doing lots of walking, spending time away from social media and setting new goals. I was in debt and now paid off one and now got one debt to pay and have began to save again and rebuild my relationship with money and making wise choices.
So this year it is my third year doing my life coaching program and if you didn’t I have made changes, check out my previous blog: Changes to my Life Coaching Programme 2023
It will begin on the 1st May 2023 and will be a bank holiday in the UK and will finish at the end of August. I am creating a printable which is almost completed, and will show the blogs and videos I will be filming, but there is so much I want to include but don’t want to bombard you with blogs and videos, so going to go through what I want to share and if you have any questions or specific topics you want me to add, then please leave a comment below.
This program is free and no cost at all, but going to create some online courses based on these programs and so when this is done will blog and let you know.
So I will blog again as we get closer to when my Life Coaching Program begins with the printable I am creating and what I want you to take from it. I do have a board created on Pinterest with resources and tools to help:
