“Summer Project 2022” Finding the right Station

When we get off a train it is because we want to go to a known destination and an idea of where we want to go, but with life there are stations we never get off on, because we have no need too, but often when I used to travel into the central London, would forget where I was going or I’d be trying to keep my eyes open, missed my stop. I’d get into a panic state because now I have no idea of where I am going and the fear was getting stranded and so now I travel I often will be looking at the map on the train, numerous times to make sure that I get off the right station.

Photo by Fabrizio Verrecchia on Pexels.com

So what happens when we forget and miss our stops?

Be glad that I had realised and didn’t travel any further and hope I can get back where I forgot to get off to go too the right destination? I would instantly get panicky and feel really stupid, and start to demolish myself. Yet if someone actually said these things to me and not in my head, I would be like “No you are wrong and I am not the only who’s done that”, but its fine to say it to ourselves.

We have all got off the wrong stop, and we will make mistakes which I did a video on, which was a chat video: https://youtu.be/SUw2pGZlPoI All about when my son had a new teacher teaching him swimming and one of the dads got a bit annoyed about it, as she wasn’t as thorough unlike the usual teacher and was being supervised whilst she taught, but did okay and we all make mistakes.

Did she panic? No

Did she get angry? No

She got on and taught her lesson, and the kids learning including my son, were fine. So getting off the wrong stop doesn’t mean your going to be stuck forever, you learn, THAT IS LIFE, and you will still be a success and you’ll know soon where to get off and get on. As Dean Graziosi, life is about repetition, and so as keep doing the journey you’ll always know, and when you do, then the panic will fade.

Summer Project 2022: Doing what we should rather than what we want

everyone can build a castle, life coaching, Personal Development, running errands, self help

Do you feel sometimes that life is full of errands, like doing laundry, cleaning, checking my finances, packing for the school holidays and on emails, that you avoid these tasks?

Photo by Meruyert Gonullu on Pexels.com

Yes my hands are up, and I think its because we build too much of hard expectation of ourselves and it usually because we are pleasing others in doing so. I mean we pay our debts because we began not to care anymore about where it is going, and have a load of books still to be returned to the library, but know we are pissing off the bank we are debt with, and return our books to stop the library being annoyed with us and avoid visiting, and not because we actually want to be these things off.

Of course these things need to be done, because of our own insanity and we don’t want these things hanging around our heads, growing and know we want them to be gone. You feel begrudging about the bills you have to pay. So what is the answer?

Well do we want to be debt for the rest of our lives and still have those library books? Of course not and so set a date and each day go through what will help face them to get them done. Create a plan and a goal.

I have used a bit of paper on my wall and set myself a target of paying off my credit card and plan my finances of what needs to come out and what I want to come out. I also go through where I can save money, by going to parks which are free to use, not always having a coffee out and if it a store I use of the time do they have points cards that would lower the amount you pay, like Boots for example I love their points system and use the points I build up on items from their stores.

I enjoy setting myself goals and I do it bit by bit, rather than all in one go.

Invest in what you want and not what you don’t. Go through the things in your life that makes you avoid errands and can you delegate? I am no good at making beds, but I do it because it does help set up my day, but if someone offers, of course I am not going to say no. and the same with having a reset each week. I find that I avoid them because I make them bigger than what they are, rather than seeing that it is not a hard task. Example: Worried about getting up to London and not being up there on time.

So I packed my bag the night before, saw a cash machine on route yesterday as took my son to Wimbledon park, and withdrew some cash and checked the trains the night before and then in the morning, set an alarm and just prepared myself.

Separate errands into sections, and think about how you will feel once the task is done and what it will lead to. I know when I complete tasks I feel a buzzed and that the preparation is the the key.

So don’t avoid get them done, do them but then reward yourself, very important and then go onto the things you want to do and do one together. Example when I have written a blog, I reward myself with watching a video, which is what I want to do, because I love writing blogs, but often will be my own worst critic and editing it can be a process, but I feel really good afterwards and so will then watch a bit of TV, what I want to do. If someone could in help me with editing I would be truly thankful.

It’s all about balance and not getting left behind, as this can be a factor, the time you have.

So break things down, prep and break each task down so its not such a burden to get the errands we plan done and make it enjoyable, example when I write I may listen to a podcast or music, with a cup of tea or coffee, have the window open and wear a favourites T-Shirt, anything that helps boost your enthusiasm to get errands completed so you and focus on the want items.

It is all about living life and making the most of it, why we have it.

“The Summer Project” Hard to take a night off

So I went to bed feeling tired, well I wouldn’t go to bed wide awake, but as soon as my head hit the pillow my mind became active and so got up. I began to watch a documentary as I love to do at the weekend and if you wanted to know what, it is an Celine Dion Documentary when she goes back to perform in Las Vegas after she not long gave birth to twins.

Photo by ANTONI SHKRABA on Pexels.com

I then get the urge to write this blog, and realised in the online world that it is hard to take a night off.

Being a writer it is often all I want to do and this after writing my previous blog “The Summer Project 2022” When you just don’t feel like it and suddenly feel the urge to write once again and so I have to get up and do it. I knew if I didn’t I’d be laying bed thinking about it and so admitted defeat, and now as I write this blog now, it is Sunday and 6am in the morning.

I had a relaxing day yesterday thought. I got to have a lie in thanks to my Step dad and watched some TV with my son, and then my mum took him out on his scooter and then when he left to be with his dad, wrote my other blog, filmed a video and then whilst doing a bit of Admin listened to some good music, my love at the moment is Jessie Ware.

Being the UK summer holidays it can be tiring and so not sure how much I will do during this period so when I get a window where I can write I will take the opportunity.

It is good to have a break, I have had burn out too many times and so I take it easy but never forget my passion and when I get the urge I will take it and reminds me why I love writing so much. I love connecting with people through it. I love being part of the online world and so I have to keep it going.

Thank you for your likes and connecting with me through my blogs and following me, it means a lot and more blogs to come. I have been creating videos too on my Youtube channel and so check them out: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCUDFIqjVKLy7NhtcR6Hy0Tg

health and wellbeing, life coaching, making the most of your days, Personal Development, things I enjoy in my life

Yes, yes and yes, tomorrow is the last day, and want to document it and to say thank you for reading my blogs and liking my content, I want it to reach out to you. I love being part of the blogging world and it has been one of the most amazing experiences I have ever discovered. This is not a goodbye, as next it will be my “Summer Project 2022”.

I never knew what Life Coaching was, and so when feeling low and felt my life wasn’t going anywhere I discovered Tony Robbins and has changed how I see my life. I am bopping at the moment listening to Jess Ware “Please” and it such a feel good song, and if you have had a bad day or a busy one, then put on some tunes and enjoy. I see music as poetry and connects me to the world and grown up using music as therapy and to mark different parts of my life.

Reading books is my next love and one that I would not do without, and love reading whilst travelling to wait for son to return from school and I do videos on my Youtube called All About books on my channel,

Typical London Gal, and review the books I have read and trying to read one a month and so important to help me write my own books. I do have quite a few, on amazon.com under my two names, Carrie Challoner and Carrie Holmes.

I then next thing is taking a shower each day and my first tea of the day and coffee. I don’t feel right when I don’t have these items, and would not change a thing. They help me function and so why change that? I know they say Caffeine is bad for you, but I feel it has benefits, I do drink decaf tea, but with coffee no. I love the kick it gives me so why change that? It is good to have things that you enjoy.

The next thing I enjoy is listening to podcasts and been listening to these on a daily basis. The ones I have been listening to, is Mel Robbins and Vern Cotton.

I do enjoy exercise to and do a short workout, just six exercises and then walking, and playing out in the garden with my son. I don’t do complicated or too extreme, but just enough to feel the results. If you don’t already, and you’d like to be updated when I post on this site then you can do that by following me and I do write other blogs too, see the links below:

Life Coaching/”2022 Project”/Monday Reset will I get it done?

It Sunday evening and I am in my bedroom and aswell as listening to a chat of Fearn Cotton and Sara Fox, and I have been challenging myself this month to sort out one area a day in my life, including my blogs and social media sites, and tomorrow I want to do each Monday a Reset, and do my laundry, Vacuum and change my bedding and have a really good morning reset to begin the week.

Photo by Viktoria Slowikowska on Pexels.com

Yet as soon as I think of it the energy in doing these tasks, puts me off. I know I will be like, “I’ll do it once I have had my first cup of tea”, “Oh let me just watch this Youtube video and I’ll get it done”, are you the same? Comment below.

I also need to call the doctors because I have a swollen eye due to Hayfever, and has been really sore, and only just remembered that, as I write this blog post. I know I can do a reset, but especially in the morning I am going to have to really push myself to get out of the bed to do anything. Yet last week before I had my first cuppa and breakfast did a sort out of my clothes. Seeing the result made it worth it. I know I am going to be nervous about calling the doctors, because it is so hard to get an appointment and means putting other stuff off, and I don’t like bothering my doctor. Its the mindset of “It’s only a swollen eye I am sure it will go”, but who knows.

I am guilty of putting things off, example I bought Henry, my son a new pair of shorts from Sainsbury’s but they are too small and so have to take them back, but I haven’t. However I have decided to keep them and donate them, and will get my son another pair. I have learned that if I don’t take them back they will still be good for someone else to wear and done my bit for charity. So I don’t feel that bad about them not being returned.

“You’ll find ways to get it done and still see results”

I am a one bit at a time person and hate rushing. I have to stop myself from jumping in with both feet, because I get overwhelmed. It means slowing down, but a moderate pace.

Do you do reset each week or perhaps everyday? Where to you begin?

For me it has to be in eye view, and of course I am not going to vacuum as soon as I wake up, which is usually around about 5am, as I know it wouldn’t be appreciated. So it will have to be a sociable hour around 8am, or is that too early? Anyway I will get up and start once I know I am not going to disturb anyone else and get it done.

Life Coaching/”2022 Project”/When you mess up?

Well where do I begin. Yes what to do When you mess up?

I have messed up a lot, like when I was working for a Marketing company, my first full-time job and was an Office Junior, sent a load of books which had peoples names on them, didn’t see them and sent them to the wrong person. My heart sunk and then I was helping with Printing out sheets for a project and printed a load of them to the point the documents all over the place.

We all can mess up, and get things wrong but it is how to deal with it that will help you so continue to grow in your life, and remember “We are all human” we will get it wrong.

The powerful thing you can do is to admit it not run away.

The feelings you get when you mess up is gut wrenching and like “How do I deal with this and turn it around so I prevent it from happening again?” and make it right. For me it is “Can this be fixed?”

Yes it can. I analyse a lot and it drives me mad, as I have done some stupid things and yet I still kept a roof over my head and I have achieved things in my life. I would call myself a lot a nightmare, but really its reality. I find it hard to deal with.

I have questioned my life and why I keep messing up?

I think because I don’t often feel worthy and imposter syndrome and that there things I do still like to have in my life and scared of “What if I never get the chance?”.

Yet this is someone who has achieved a lot and even writing that, I hear the voice saying “Really, your not supposed to feel like that and that is being big headed”.

Do you ever feel this way?

It’s the voice of doubt and the one that can stop me in my tracks sometimes, but I have a way to deal with the inner critic, and is “Hear it, talk to it and push it away”.

We have all made a mess in our lives, and that it can be rectified. It’s believing in yourself and not be so harsh on yourself.

It can become draining, and so putting the gut wrenching feeling when you mess up, is to say “Ok I didn’t get it right this time, but I will and this is going to make me stronger” and it has.

Life Coaching #2022project/Habits of a lifetime

I never thought I’d be reaching this point in my life, if you’d had seen me last year, spending time in a mental health hospital, yet here I am with over a hundred followers, so thank you for the time you have spent on reading my blogs, it is truly touching and drives me to create more that reach out to you and that you find them helpful to you.

I have created a new Life Coaching video about Managing your life/new habits and making your life your own.

As I write this blog I am listening to the song “Wind of change” brilliant song, and I want to be able to whistle in tune and learn how to play electric guitar. So that is a new habit I have created there, lets see if it happens. I will let you know.

Habits can last a life time, but they have to benefit you. I want to whistle so I can write more songs. as I do like to write music and still have that ambition of wanting a song I have written on the radio, and is a dream that never goes away.

I have just recently been doing new habits, not having my phone near my bed until the next day to put it on charge, but not at night. This has been uplifting and now I know that this will be a new one I know I will follow through with, along with making bed, which I had been trying to do, but never kept but now it is a must, to not attempt me to get back into it.

I have also been doing my indoor workouts, and it is good to get in touch with your body and just stretching, lifting weights and walking, really makes a massive change in the way I think and see myself, the human body is amazing of what it can do, so get in touch with it. Take up a skill that you’ve been wanting and get into the habit, and not rush into it. TAKE YOUR TIME!

Keep them relevant to what you want to achieve by following new habits and feel. That is important, like not driving everyday to work, but walk on some days, to save money on petrol, to then use that money to save for something else.

The other habit I have been doing, is taking off my make up with a wet hot flannel and feels so good, and really has made a difference to my skin, not getting dry and I just use hot water from the tap, and in the mornings, I will use my face wash. So it is little habits like that one, that can make a difference to how you live your life.

So get a pen and a pad and write about the habits you do and what others that will help you, and pick ones that you can begin right away. If they make you excited and happy, then they are working.

Many thanks for reading,

Carrie X

getting on with life, happiness and wellbeing, life experiences, Personal Development, self help blog

If there are things in our life that has not worked out, it doesn’t mean your life is over, it means it wasn’t meant to be. We can often feel like a failure, and beat ourselves over the head with it, example, starting a new job and you realise it isn’t what you thought and the format is not for you.

All experiences in our lives count to us growing and finding the job that is what you have been looking for. I want to work in childcare and so I have been trying different ways I can work within this industry to find the role that matches the one I want. It is good to have direction and trying different routes, but keeping in mind the expectations you have, to find the one that makes you feel like “Yes this is my dream” and makes you excited each day. Its not good if you dread it, because it can effect your wellbeing.

If it isn’t the right job then it is fine. Noone’s going to blame you for trying. Life is full of choices and we all in our lives will take a different turn.

You should never give up, but keep moving on and get on with it. Stop the worry, the analysing and the guilt, but put it down to life. It is all about choices and finding what works and what doesn’t.

If you allow life to be hard work it is going to be. If you keep giving yourself a hard time, then ask yourself “Do you want to be doing this all your life?” It can be draining, and so beating yourself up is sole destroying that doesn’t help, so getting rid of those feelings will help you breath and take stock of where your life is heading and set goals and trying new habits is the key to carrying on and letting go.

How do you make people listen when they don’t want to hear?

blog about being heard, blog on listening, people who clash, Personal Development, self help blog

Hello and welcome! I am going to make sure I blog once or twice a week on this site, but with the school run, not be possible and so if you have been waiting for a new blog on this site, I apologise.

So topic of blog. How do you make people listen when they don’t want to hear?

How many of us have had this experience?

I know it can be a never ending battle, but if they aren’t willing to see things on your point of view, often they never will, so the ball is still in your court on that.

How important is it to have these people still in your life? You need to ask, as can you move away from them?

That is not always possible, but actions can speak wonders.

What do they bring you when you see them? There are people who can be super jealous which leads them to resent everything you say and just want to argue and what they seeing is that. You being happy reflects on them, when no they just using you as an excuse so if they don’t want to hear you, then don’t give them the time. Say to them “If you aren’t willing to listen then we can’t carry on as me being here is not making you happy and you want me to be, so lets talk or move on” this way you are still giving them choice without taking full control over them, but gives them something to think about.

I hate it when it feels like a tug of war, as then I end up not wanting to speak to them and there story has to be worse than yours and it becomes a battle of “Who’s story is the most important” and it should be equal. They listen to you and you listen to them.

Are we made on this planet to get on with everyone? In an ideal world perhaps but not realistically impossible, but you can still be polite rather than hostile and just keeping distant if you can’t move away from them completely.

So what are your thoughts? You can leave a comment below.

Many thanks for reading,

Carrie X
