Being productive living in a city

Rising to the top was an idea I had watching the Winter Olympics, and how much training that these athletes do to get to be a gold medallist and even compete and it means training every single day so it becomes like drinking water.

I bet some have had falls from doing for example Snowboarding, and ended up in hospital, but they still continue on to rise to the top.

Now we aren’t all going to be able to have a gold medal but doesn’t mean you’ll never rise to the top, because we all have it within ourselves to be better to what we already are, for example I knew that if I continued dancing and gaining my medals I would win the cup for the highest marks and I did it.

I needed a weekend job that suited my lifestyle being a mum and finding something I could do that would not interfere with looking after my son, and so found one and recently I wanted to stop working in a call centre to do Childcare and Housekeeping. I wasn’t good as a housekeeper but I did love the nursery work I did.

Due to circumstances couldn’t continue on because of the hours and because of COVID, but doesn’t mean that I failed or didn’t accomplish anything, because I did. It helped me to build my experience in one of the sectors I wanted to work in.

Now I am going to be doing a number of courses to help me build up my knowledge in Life Coaching, working in Mental Health and Teaching Assistant.

This blog I created because I was searching answers to change the way that I felt about my life. I felt I hadn’t achieved anything but I have. I did the Great North Run, I was able to travel to Florida for Christmas and went business class, and it was nice to live that lifestyle and now I want to create more dream holidays and memories.

Rising to the top comes with many paths and roads you follow and hurdles for example, after doing the Royal Parks run I couldn’t walk properly as I had Runners Knee and it hurt, but then I continued to do more running and walking.

Yet I completed the half marathon and once I did these events would reflect and made me see you don’t need to be a millionaire to succeed in life, but what you put into it that matters.

So never feel you can’t rise to the top in whatever your passion is because trust me you can.

I am writing and doing these Life Coaching Projects, because I want to help others build success and achieve more in their lives too, and have a better summer and a better year. I want to see people thrive and having the things you have dreams of to come true to you aswell.

Getting the most out of your days

Getting the most of your days as a city gal dealing with the daily rush

In this blog I am talking about Managing Anxieties during the summer. These are about what we should wear, not feeling confident in wearing a bikini, travelling, boundaries, Summer time habits and having the summer blues.

It has taken a long time to get into the mindset where I am happy with myself and not putting myself down and would like to wear a bikini again, but I am going to shop around to find one that is suitable for me, and that is it. It is what you feel comfortable with, and I feel there is a stigma about being comfortable. This is because I have spoken about it too and that is getting out of your comfort zone, which can help, but it is balance. What will make you give a sense of “Yes I can do that” and “Yes I am worth this life”.

It is what makes you buzz about yourself, and I love my sense of style, and that is the first time I have ever said that, but it is true. I do feel comfortable in my own skin. What has made me finally feel like that? Making changes, and I don’t give myself a hard time over the fact that I don’t wear make up everyday and it has made a difference to my skin. I do get days where I want to and I will, but not all of the time. I look myself in the mirror, which is getting out of my comfort zone, because I avoided mirrors at one point, but now I do and I ain’t that bad.

I will divide this blog otherwise it will be too long. Having summer anxieties can effect us from enjoying the summer and then feel disappointed once its gone and think “Well I will make changes next year” but what if the next year doesn’t come? It for me has been a waste, in doing this. I obsessed about not being suntanned and tried tanning lotion, but would make me look patchy and so would then give myself a hard time over that. I now like my skin, because it is mine and now I will again look after my skin on my body, buy showering, using a scrub, treating myself to some nice showering gels and creams, and just giving myself some self love.

I know this may make you cringe but it honestly has made a difference. What one thing will make a difference to you? What items in my life currently makes me feel good, and what doesn’t? If it doesn’t make you feel good, get rid for an item that does. I have nothing against those who use tanning lotions if they make you feel good, they just didn’t work for me and it can cause aging sitting out in the sun all of the time so I do in moderation.

“Summer Project 2022” Living Each day even with no sunshine

Living in England you never know when the sun will be out and often Weather Men and Women have got it wrong, but you can still live and often is an excuse to stay in and relax on the sofa watching the TV, but then you get bored.

This is me, so I don’t allow the weather to stop me from living, but have a plan B. Rather than going for a walk, do an indoor workout with friends or just wear rainy day clothes and still go but choose a different route if there are waterlogged places, but buy a pair of wellies or boots you don’t care about as much but wear for when it is raining and let your kids splash in the puddles it is good for their energy rather than restricting these activities.

I am a typical English gal in that I as soon as it is sunny and hot I will put on my shorts stored away, and always bring out jacket just in case. I would go running and with sleet rain I would still go for a run, I just make sure I have water proof items, like a jacket and in the winter layer but allow my body heat as I run to keep me warm.

I will do my writing indoors but be near a window so I can still look out and watch the world go by. It can be so relaxing watching the birds and wildlife whilst I work on my blogs and books.

I still will grab a coffee even though I am cutting down the amount I spend on takeaway coffee and use the items I have indoors, and it has made a difference, but often will have one towards reaching a goal or if I have had a good productive day. I will sit in a coffee shop with a notebook and not be on my laptop all the time, or catch up on emails on my phone.

When I am with my son I will make sure all my devices are away even staying in and will play card games, watch a bit of TV together and if it is possible take him to a place that has an indoor softplay area. We have seen some shows on our local Polka Theatre and take kids to the theatre. I loved doing this as a kid and would like to be more often being an adult.

Never restrict yourself and another way of Getting the most of your life.

Yes, yes and yes, tomorrow is the last day, and want to document it and to say thank you for reading my blogs and liking my content, I want it to reach out to you. I love being part of the blogging world and it has been one of the most amazing experiences I have ever discovered. This is not a goodbye, as next it will be my “Summer Project 2022”.

I never knew what Life Coaching was, and so when feeling low and felt my life wasn’t going anywhere I discovered Tony Robbins and has changed how I see my life. I am bopping at the moment listening to Jess Ware “Please” and it such a feel good song, and if you have had a bad day or a busy one, then put on some tunes and enjoy. I see music as poetry and connects me to the world and grown up using music as therapy and to mark different parts of my life.

Reading books is my next love and one that I would not do without, and love reading whilst travelling to wait for son to return from school and I do videos on my Youtube called All About books on my channel,

Typical London Gal, and review the books I have read and trying to read one a month and so important to help me write my own books. I do have quite a few, on amazon.com under my two names, Carrie Challoner and Carrie Holmes.

I then next thing is taking a shower each day and my first tea of the day and coffee. I don’t feel right when I don’t have these items, and would not change a thing. They help me function and so why change that? I know they say Caffeine is bad for you, but I feel it has benefits, I do drink decaf tea, but with coffee no. I love the kick it gives me so why change that? It is good to have things that you enjoy.

The next thing I enjoy is listening to podcasts and been listening to these on a daily basis. The ones I have been listening to, is Mel Robbins and Vern Cotton.

I do enjoy exercise to and do a short workout, just six exercises and then walking, and playing out in the garden with my son. I don’t do complicated or too extreme, but just enough to feel the results. Hello, so if you don’t know what I am talking about then please read my last weeks blog about it Monday rest/will I get it done . I wanted to see if this was a good habit to get into and plan doing this as a weekly habit. This was talked about a lot on Youtube and wasn’t sure if I could do it. So I decided I would try it out.

It helped set the day and a week on a high. So am going to do the same this Monday. I will be dusting my windowsill and fire place. Then I am going to vacuum and clear my rubbish. My laundry has all been done which never usually happened. I would put these jobs off.

It helped me to continue my monthly challenge for June, which was to sort one area of my life and both have helped me hand in hand, because it just helps with having the energy, and today as I write this blog Sunday Evening, I have done more today than I have done in a week.

This doesn’t mean I didn’t take a break. I did. I watched some of the Glastonbury Music Festival and feel ready to start a new week.

It is good to have structure and I live by having a routine. I need to set myself up and prep, with everything I do so I don’t lose momentum.

This is the key to getting more out of your day. I hate the word chore because it instantly puts me off. I like goal, because it is something I can build on. Something I can progress and sorting my life out is what keeps me afloat and awake.

Changing my habits from bad to good, is setting the tone of where I see myself. It gives me balance and is another key factor. If you have two bags of different weights this can be tricky to carry, but if they are at the same level then it is easier to carry.

So find balance in your life and build on your good habits and this will teach you, how to feel good and content, and feel that you’ve got more out of your days, rather than sitting int he same four walls all of the time.

It Sunday evening and I am in my bedroom and aswell as listening to a chat of Fearn Cotton and Sara Fox, and I have been challenging myself this month to sort out one area a day in my life, including my blogs and social media sites, and tomorrow I want to do each Monday a Reset, and do my laundry, Vacuum and change my bedding and have a really good morning reset to begin the week.

Yet as soon as I think of it the energy in doing these tasks, puts me off. I know I will be like, “I’ll do it once I have had my first cup of tea”, “Oh let me just watch this Youtube video and I’ll get it done”, are you the same? Comment below.

I also need to call the doctors because I have a swollen eye due to Hayfever, and has been really sore, and only just remembered that, as I write this blog post. I know I can do a reset, but especially in the morning I am going to have to really push myself to get out of the bed to do anything. Yet last week before I had my first cuppa and breakfast did a sort out of my clothes. Seeing the result made it worth it. I know I am going to be nervous about calling the doctors, because it is so hard to get an appointment and means putting other stuff off, and I don’t like bothering my doctor. Its the mindset of “It’s only a swollen eye I am sure it will go”, but who knows.

I am guilty of putting things off, example I bought Henry, my son a new pair of shorts from Sainsbury’s but they are too small and so have to take them back, but I haven’t. However I have decided to keep them and donate them, and will get my son another pair. I have learned that if I don’t take them back they will still be good for someone else to wear and done my bit for charity. So I don’t feel that bad about them not being returned.

“You’ll find ways to get it done and still see results”

I am a one bit at a time person and hate rushing. I have to stop myself from jumping in with both feet, because I get overwhelmed. It means slowing down, but a moderate pace.

Do you do reset each week or perhaps everyday? Where to you begin?

For me it has to be in eye view, and of course I am not going to vacuum as soon as I wake up, which is usually around about 5am, as I know it wouldn’t be appreciated. So it will have to be a sociable hour around 8am, or is that too early? Anyway I will get up and start once I know I am not going to disturb anyone else and get it done.
