Autumn Reset, be productive, financial habits, organisation, seasonal clean up

Welcome to day four and I filmed a video today clearing out one of my storage bins that sits on my bedside set of draws near to my bedside table, and so if you’d like to watch this, then click here https://youtu.be/ZBpYIFOUSZM

I will film another video tomorrow to clear out another storage bin which is placed under my desk at the moment and then I going to sort out my small wardrobe I have and see what can stay and what can go.

Managing life when there are many areas to clear up is the process of turning a corner. It felt good to sort out that bin today because it is another area I don’t have to stress about, and that is the main point. If it causing you stress get it sorted out as the stress is just going to build up even more.

Get inspired by others. That is what happened to me today when watching a Youtube video of someone giving tips of sorting out the stuff they have, called the Sunday Stylist and just now watched another video by Clutterbug, which has now made me want to sort out my wardrobe and clothes. I hope these blogs inspire you. It really is worth it.

IT IS GOOD TO SPREAD THE WORD!

I am going to put together, like I did for my Life coaching programmes, a printable together with tips and ideas in sorting out your life. I do also have EBooks on Amazon that may interest you under the names of Carrie Challoner, Carrie Lee Holmes as I wanted to be original but then have stuck with my maiden name, Carrie Holmes as it is easier to remember.

It means going through your finances too, and do take notes of what I have spent each day is making a difference, and checking my bank account each day and and now being able to save again and be more vigilant. It so easy to spend money now when you just have to tap your card on a little machine and so really making sure I spend wisely and still looking for inspiration on looking after my finances still. I currently use a notebook which I use daily to write tasks down and for a lot of things, so would like a better system still. If you know of ideas then let me know.

I even had a Filofax to help me look after my money but this didn’t work for me at all. I will keep researching and need to update my budget which is one thing I do through out the year. I budget on everything, like buying clothes, food and yearly celebrations, such as birthdays and dare I say it, Christmas.

So lets keep on and see what else I can sorted out. I think I am going to do another chapter of my book I am working on and then a bit more motivation to help me continue for tomorrow., to get to grips of the areas that need to be dealt with and can get finished items done too.

Please check out my previous Autumn Reset blogs: Autumn Reset Day 1: Sorting out my life and getting balance, Autumn Reset Day 2: Finishing Tasks, and Autumn Reset Day 3: Developing Positive Outcomes

Autumn Reset, clearing the things we no longer love, develop positive outcomes, developing a good plan, keeping what you love

I have done a intro video on my Youtube channel if you’d like to see it: https://youtu.be/5jzuxzSO96Q

What do you really want out of the reset?

Well I want to as in the previous two blogs, Autumn Reset Day 1: Sorting out my life and getting balance and Autumn Reset Day 2: Finishing Tasks I want to have less of what I no longer need to help bring more abundance. It is important to let go of items that no longer make me happy and have no purpose for now.

Working on finishing tasks, and add developing new habits. Example I want a better fitness routine which I have been struggling with but really want to do. So I now walk whenever I can, use the cross trainer that is in Epsom whilst waiting for my son to return to school.

This follows with STOP PUTTING THINGS OF AND JUST DO IT!

Use what I have and save more money and keep using what is working that will help with my personal development even more, like I loving my weekly blog schedule to help, like Tuesdays I have film a video, clear and area of my life, working on blogs and work on books and it just help with balancing tasks and getting them completed.

It may be that you feel you have a junk draw that needs to be sorted, and so set in your planner and begin with one item out of that draw a day. This not being silly it really can make a difference as it is a new step forward and have a better clearer draw and you know what you have in it that you still love and what you no longer love.

It could be you have paper everywhere. I have been there and could build a tree, as I love a notebook and if I could live with a thousand notebooks I would. Yet seeing it pile up is not great, so want to use the ones I already have before buying anymore.

I know once I have used the ones I have is going to fulfill me in that I can then be ready to purchase more but like one or two a year than that, and will feel free of my notebook fetish.

So lets make a difference to our lives as we are worth more that the items we keep and no longer make us happy. Life should be fulfilling and feel free from the everyday clutter that can make us to want to disappear and so only Day 3 and feel better already.

Autumn Reset, creating a new plan, finishing projects, getting stuff done, living a busy life

When you have so many tasks to complete you can feel bogged down and want to some way scrape them to one side and says continuously “I’ll do it tomorrow” and that tomorrow comes and you procrastinate and do what you can to put if off once again.

Photo by Andrea Piacquadio on Pexels.com

I like writing and on my 10th I think book and I love the writing process, but not the editing part, yet it needs to be done before it is completed and so I then want to write a blog, then put some laundry on and then watch another video and then film a video, and it just never going to be finished if I don’t get my arse in gear. Yet when I do get it done I do then feel better for it, and tell myself “See it’s not that bad after all”.

When it comes to planning I take small steps and have created a block schedule for my week and going to alter my google calendar as there are some things I want to change to fit what I like to do each day, like have a new fitness plan. I want to do more walking each day and do more early morning indoor workouts again, along with a new make up routine as I don’t want to wear it everyday, but because it helps boost my confidence going to put it on and do a quick routine for everyday.

I like leaving my skin to breath, so going to still have no make up, but make it a weekly thing especially for when filming for my youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCUDFIqjVKLy7NhtcR6Hy0Tg

I have a new online course that I want to get finished for my Educational network and alter my existing courses I have created. You can check these out here: https://carrieseducationnetwork.thinkific.com/

I have a few courses I have been doing and so adding time to do these in my week and due to do some other courses in Childcare, as I want to help support other parents and feel I need to work on my skills and knowledge. Now we are in new academic year feel that I am ready to tackle unfinished projects and that is all you need, making a fresh start can really be great for the mind and for the body.

So do you have some unfinished projects? now it is time to get them done and set a plan. Let’s help each other and please share if you’d like and wish you good luck.

autumn 2022, change of seasons, organsing our lives, resetting our lves, sorting out life

So to build your life you have to take a step back not too far, but so you can observe what is currently in your life and what needs to change. I need to change my schedule back from the Summer to the Winter. This means going over my calendar and what important dates are happening, and following the next academic year.

What is the one change you want to make right now? could be a piece of furniture that looks out of place, someone in your life is causing you pain, or your working life needs more balance? We can get so caught up and forget about what we truly want. So schedule times to have a sort out. This September I am going to go through my Youtube videos as I feel that I get behind, along with my finances, and have made a better block schedule to keep writing.

my-weekly-every-week-plannerDownload

This really has really helped balance the things I need to do and I am going to do some training recommended to me and it is good to spend time building my skills and knowledge. I will be working on a new Life Coaching course too, and there areas which I want to build on, because of the plans I have. I want to work with kids again and that works with the school run, as I do enjoy writing but would like to do more outdoor work too.

It is good to have different eggs in baskets and support my son and help develop other kids so they become more independent, and having a son that has ADHD and Autism, can be tricky so it good to do training as I am a parent and fill it is my job to build my knowledge as a parent, to support other parents.

I am currently getting a new book published, which will be my second fictional book and so it is good to reset to set my life so I can manage this area more too.

This isn’t plugging but showing that like many have different areas of my life that I can feel bogged down, and so to manage this I need a good functional schedule and take regular breaks in between and spend time with family. That is another area that we can forget because of the everyday living to spend some family time.

So, lets reorganize and get our life ready for the new season and tell me one area are you gong to sort out. I’d love your feedback.

I will be making videos of my Autumn Reset. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCUDFIqjVKLy7NhtcR6Hy0Tg

building your life, getting your life together, life coaching, reset your life, summer project 2022

I now use Sundays as a Reset and it really gives a kick start to the week ahead. I am not a massive fan of cleaning and so it does take a long to get myself to do it, but feel good once done and seen the results.

I use Sundays and Mondays to reset and that is clearing rubbish, go through lists not completed and just go through what I have done and what I do next.

It revaluates your life, as you can see what area of my life you need to work on, example for me I need to fit in time exercise more, and so I will go for a walk each day and once I get the message “Do a workout” that is exactly what I will do, and you can use exercise to reset your life.

Exercising has so many benefits. Example I find it gives me a good boost of energy and feel good about my body and how I feel about myself. I will make sure I give myself time to look after my skin and going through what I have that I still love and what I don’t.

I will vacuum my bedroom each week and do a bit of dusting, and just getting things in shape. I like space and allow myself time to gather my life and keep growing.

Spend time to journal and gather my thoughts and fears. Have time changing my bedding and just spend time working and building on different areas of my life.

It can be anything that is making you feel overwhelmed and you need more shape in your life.

So have time to reset your life and help you be in a positive mindset.

“Summer Project 2022” Being Super Lazy/habits leading to other habits

habits, having a chilled day, lazy days, life coachng, look after yourself

I can be one lazy bitch when I want to be, but now I have started to see that I can still have those days but schedule them in, and still continue with my good habits as I take a day off, and since becoming a mum that has altered a lot. I often have forgotten to have lazy days.. I no longer spend time travelling to watch a Rugby League team I used to follow and no longer go up into central London for a drink, but as I write this I still want to do this and be on my own, but making sure I stay safe if I do that. It will take a lot of courage but feel I need to do at some point to break the fear of it.

Photo by Los Muertos Crew on Pexels.com

I have found that I can still be lazy but dressed, like now I have changed into shorts after being out wearing leggins as I have to wear cycling shorts under my everyday shorts when walking and moving, to stop chaffing, but they are in the laundry basket so now I am at my desk and going spend the day working, chilled and fully relaxed in my shorts, and going to have a blissful day.

That for me is what is important. We all need those times to take it easy, and whilst shopping, buying food I had to catch myself from rushing, because today I didn’t need to, but rushing becomes a habit that can cause burnout so I rein myself in and take my time.

I remember when working in a call centre and there was a lady there called Mrs Rush Rush, because I would talk fast, walk fast and be on my toes running around so I could be back at my desk taking more calls, and complete my day. I felt worn out, like numb by the end of the day. I would have anger issues, because of taking unhappy calls and it would drain me. I felt like I couldn’t talk anymore and would go home to my husband in a mood.

Again this became a habit. Now I slow down. I don’t need to rush and have always been good at time keeping so needed not to rush. That is why I need lazy days, so I can unwind and forget the rush and just be in my element. My laptop, youtube, TV and a good book.

When I travel I often finding myself running for the bus, when I have left myself time to, if I miss it to get the next one. I don’t need to run but the city girl within me, being in London often will set in. Yet once on the bus I will be happy reading my book and chill before my son comes home from school.

With the summer holidays I have tried to chill too. My son is not a fast walker but he has bags loads of energy and often have to think on my feet, and that is not easy.

Just to say I do have a Life coaching course on my Educational Network, checkout this link here:

https://carrieseducationnetwork.thinkific.com/

So now I will make sure I take a lazy day and catch up on a good TV series, watch a series of videos and I love watching documentaries and sport, so I make time to do that, and yes having a better life, is to spend time with yourself and the things and people you love, without the rush and losing ourselves in everyday busyness.

building a better life, building you life, challenges, creating challenges that make you feel alive, wellness

I have really enjoyed the Monthly Challenges I have been doing and for August I am posting everyday on my Instagram, for 30 days, and so check it out: https://www.instagram.com/typicallondongal/

Photo by Anna Shvets on Pexels.com

The purpose of it is to connect to others and having fun, and catching up on and see how I can improve my content and make it enjoyable to encourage others to set up challenges as they alter your thoughts and to see what I am capable of. It gets into habits that helps me feel like I am not sinking behind my blogs, and books etc but build my knowledge. Last month July was to do a bit of training on day, not me give training and me doing the training, because there are always areas of improvement. I want to learn new skills and build my knowledge for my wellbeing. I love to learn.

They help to get stuff done and want to start doing my Seasonal clean ups where by I would sort my stuff out every Autumn, Winer and Spring, and the one thing on the agenda is to organize my clothes, and seeing what I have worn and not, and what I have used and never going to be used. It is good to clear the head by having a clear up with physical items and feel that it making space for me and I like shape in my life.

These challenges have helped with shaping my life. It has made me make sure I make my bed in the morning, and I have a reset each week and just get my life together.

Set challenges in the summer if you don’t want to do it every month or do a reset each week. It is what works for you and helps with being overwhelmed and not want to do anything.

With the school holidays it has been tricky, so doing tasks that doesn’t take up too much of my time but I am still getting stuff done and I love sharing on Instagram and would like to do more and do videos on there too.

I have been filming Day in a life videos, at the moment I am putting my videos of the Platinum Jubilee, so check out my channel via the this link if you’d like to watch them: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCUDFIqjVKLy7NhtcR6Hy0Tg

I was also challenging myself to read a book a month and so far achieved, but not July because of the school holidays but I will catch up, and then I want to plan for Autumn and Winter months of 2022. I will keep you posted.

Summer Project 2022: Doing what we should rather than what we want

everyone can build a castle, life coaching, Personal Development, running errands, self help

Do you feel sometimes that life is full of errands, like doing laundry, cleaning, checking my finances, packing for the school holidays and on emails, that you avoid these tasks?

Photo by Meruyert Gonullu on Pexels.com

Yes my hands are up, and I think its because we build too much of hard expectation of ourselves and it usually because we are pleasing others in doing so. I mean we pay our debts because we began not to care anymore about where it is going, and have a load of books still to be returned to the library, but know we are pissing off the bank we are debt with, and return our books to stop the library being annoyed with us and avoid visiting, and not because we actually want to be these things off.

Of course these things need to be done, because of our own insanity and we don’t want these things hanging around our heads, growing and know we want them to be gone. You feel begrudging about the bills you have to pay. So what is the answer?

Well do we want to be debt for the rest of our lives and still have those library books? Of course not and so set a date and each day go through what will help face them to get them done. Create a plan and a goal.

I have used a bit of paper on my wall and set myself a target of paying off my credit card and plan my finances of what needs to come out and what I want to come out. I also go through where I can save money, by going to parks which are free to use, not always having a coffee out and if it a store I use of the time do they have points cards that would lower the amount you pay, like Boots for example I love their points system and use the points I build up on items from their stores.

I enjoy setting myself goals and I do it bit by bit, rather than all in one go.

Invest in what you want and not what you don’t. Go through the things in your life that makes you avoid errands and can you delegate? I am no good at making beds, but I do it because it does help set up my day, but if someone offers, of course I am not going to say no. and the same with having a reset each week. I find that I avoid them because I make them bigger than what they are, rather than seeing that it is not a hard task. Example: Worried about getting up to London and not being up there on time.

So I packed my bag the night before, saw a cash machine on route yesterday as took my son to Wimbledon park, and withdrew some cash and checked the trains the night before and then in the morning, set an alarm and just prepared myself.

Separate errands into sections, and think about how you will feel once the task is done and what it will lead to. I know when I complete tasks I feel a buzzed and that the preparation is the the key.

So don’t avoid get them done, do them but then reward yourself, very important and then go onto the things you want to do and do one together. Example when I have written a blog, I reward myself with watching a video, which is what I want to do, because I love writing blogs, but often will be my own worst critic and editing it can be a process, but I feel really good afterwards and so will then watch a bit of TV, what I want to do. If someone could in help me with editing I would be truly thankful.

It’s all about balance and not getting left behind, as this can be a factor, the time you have.

So break things down, prep and break each task down so its not such a burden to get the errands we plan done and make it enjoyable, example when I write I may listen to a podcast or music, with a cup of tea or coffee, have the window open and wear a favourites T-Shirt, anything that helps boost your enthusiasm to get errands completed so you and focus on the want items.

It is all about living life and making the most of it, why we have it.

“The Summer Project” Hard to take a night off

life coaching, looking after ourselves, Personal Development, taking a break, writing

So I went to bed feeling tired, well I wouldn’t go to bed wide awake, but as soon as my head hit the pillow my mind became active and so got up. I began to watch a documentary as I love to do at the weekend and if you wanted to know what, it is an Celine Dion Documentary when she goes back to perform in Las Vegas after she not long gave birth to twins.

Photo by ANTONI SHKRABA on Pexels.com

I then get the urge to write this blog, and realised in the online world that it is hard to take a night off.

Being a writer it is often all I want to do and this after writing my previous blog “The Summer Project 2022” When you just don’t feel like it and suddenly feel the urge to write once again and so I have to get up and do it. I knew if I didn’t I’d be laying bed thinking about it and so admitted defeat, and now as I write this blog now, it is Sunday and 6am in the morning.

I had a relaxing day yesterday thought. I got to have a lie in thanks to my Step dad and watched some TV with my son, and then my mum took him out on his scooter and then when he left to be with his dad, wrote my other blog, filmed a video and then whilst doing a bit of Admin listened to some good music, my love at the moment is Jessie Ware.

Being the UK summer holidays it can be tiring and so not sure how much I will do during this period so when I get a window where I can write I will take the opportunity.

It is good to have a break, I have had burn out too many times and so I take it easy but never forget my passion and when I get the urge I will take it and reminds me why I love writing so much. I love connecting with people through it. I love being part of the online world and so I have to keep it going.

Thank you for your likes and connecting with me through my blogs and following me, it means a lot and more blogs to come. I have been creating videos too on my Youtube channel and so check them out: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCUDFIqjVKLy7NhtcR6Hy0Tg

Many thanks for reading,
