Getting the most out of your days

Getting the most of your days as a city gal dealing with the daily rush

In this blog I am talking about Managing Anxieties during the summer. These are about what we should wear, not feeling confident in wearing a bikini, travelling, boundaries, Summer time habits and having the summer blues.

It has taken a long time to get into the mindset where I am happy with myself and not putting myself down and would like to wear a bikini again, but I am going to shop around to find one that is suitable for me, and that is it. It is what you feel comfortable with, and I feel there is a stigma about being comfortable. This is because I have spoken about it too and that is getting out of your comfort zone, which can help, but it is balance. What will make you give a sense of “Yes I can do that” and “Yes I am worth this life”.

It is what makes you buzz about yourself, and I love my sense of style, and that is the first time I have ever said that, but it is true. I do feel comfortable in my own skin. What has made me finally feel like that? Making changes, and I don’t give myself a hard time over the fact that I don’t wear make up everyday and it has made a difference to my skin. I do get days where I want to and I will, but not all of the time. I look myself in the mirror, which is getting out of my comfort zone, because I avoided mirrors at one point, but now I do and I ain’t that bad.

I will divide this blog otherwise it will be too long. Having summer anxieties can effect us from enjoying the summer and then feel disappointed once its gone and think “Well I will make changes next year” but what if the next year doesn’t come? It for me has been a waste, in doing this. I obsessed about not being suntanned and tried tanning lotion, but would make me look patchy and so would then give myself a hard time over that. I now like my skin, because it is mine and now I will again look after my skin on my body, buy showering, using a scrub, treating myself to some nice showering gels and creams, and just giving myself some self love.

I know this may make you cringe but it honestly has made a difference. What one thing will make a difference to you? What items in my life currently makes me feel good, and what doesn’t? If it doesn’t make you feel good, get rid for an item that does. I have nothing against those who use tanning lotions if they make you feel good, they just didn’t work for me and it can cause aging sitting out in the sun all of the time so I do in moderation.

“Summer Project 2022” Living Each day even with no sunshine

Living in England you never know when the sun will be out and often Weather Men and Women have got it wrong, but you can still live and often is an excuse to stay in and relax on the sofa watching the TV, but then you get bored.

This is me, so I don’t allow the weather to stop me from living, but have a plan B. Rather than going for a walk, do an indoor workout with friends or just wear rainy day clothes and still go but choose a different route if there are waterlogged places, but buy a pair of wellies or boots you don’t care about as much but wear for when it is raining and let your kids splash in the puddles it is good for their energy rather than restricting these activities.

I am a typical English gal in that I as soon as it is sunny and hot I will put on my shorts stored away, and always bring out jacket just in case. I would go running and with sleet rain I would still go for a run, I just make sure I have water proof items, like a jacket and in the winter layer but allow my body heat as I run to keep me warm.

I will do my writing indoors but be near a window so I can still look out and watch the world go by. It can be so relaxing watching the birds and wildlife whilst I work on my blogs and books.

I still will grab a coffee even though I am cutting down the amount I spend on takeaway coffee and use the items I have indoors, and it has made a difference, but often will have one towards reaching a goal or if I have had a good productive day. I will sit in a coffee shop with a notebook and not be on my laptop all the time, or catch up on emails on my phone.

When I am with my son I will make sure all my devices are away even staying in and will play card games, watch a bit of TV together and if it is possible take him to a place that has an indoor softplay area. We have seen some shows on our local Polka Theatre and take kids to the theatre. I loved doing this as a kid and would like to be more often being an adult.

Never restrict yourself and another way of Getting the most of your life.

Yes so I will be posting videos on my Main Youtube Channel and already put my first one up on my channel The Typical London Gal Carrie Holmes, talking about Getting the most of the days.

I have also created a Printable to go through what I will be talking about, and topics I will be covering. Like an outline of my Life Coaching project.

I am really excited about and even if it helps one person it still making a difference and this is what I want to accomplish.

I will talking a lot in the first part of this programme going over Productivity hence the first video linked above.

Reset Monday/Setting a new goal

Yes Monday has come around again, and this week am going to organize a storage box by my desk, to tidy it up, and put on some laundry and vacuum, and going to wash a towel and then going to start my day by going through what needs to be completed and then get items ticked off on my this weeks list and go through my other lists written. Yes I am a lady of lists, and I enjoy creating them, and make sure there are no loose ends to be tied up. I to have blogs finished, along with videos that need to be edited and uploaded and working on my books, too.

I did do part of it yesterday and cleared a bag of Poundland items which I showed in my 2nd Quarter Haul, and as I carry on this blog I have sorted out the storage bin near my desk and does look a lot better, but has made me realise I need to stop buying notebooks. Do you have too much of something? It can take over and so I need to rein myself in and take a look at what I have got.

My goal that I am going to set myself is to “Use what I have” and only buy what I need. I do like days where I don’t spend money. I find that it is a relief and so do need to get myself together, and NO MORE NOTEBOOKS, until I have finished using what I have got.

Lets hope I can stick this, and will report back.

Last day of “2022 Project” Life Coaching programme/Things I enjoy in my life.

Yes, yes and yes, tomorrow is the last day, and want to document it and to say thank you for reading my blogs and liking my content, I want it to reach out to you. I love being part of the blogging world and it has been one of the most amazing experiences I have ever discovered. This is not a goodbye, as next it will be my “Summer Project 2022”.

I never knew what Life Coaching was, and so when feeling low and felt my life wasn’t going anywhere I discovered Tony Robbins and has changed how I see my life. I am bopping at the moment listening to Jess Ware “Please” and it such a feel good song, and if you have had a bad day or a busy one, then put on some tunes and enjoy. I see music as poetry and connects me to the world and grown up using music as therapy and to mark different parts of my life.

Reading books is my next love and one that I would not do without, and love reading whilst travelling to wait for son to return from school and I do videos on my Youtube called All About books on my channel,

Typical London Gal, and review the books I have read and trying to read one a month and so important to help me write my own books. I do have quite a few, on amazon.com under my two names, Carrie Challoner and Carrie Holmes.

I then next thing is taking a shower each day and my first tea of the day and coffee. I don’t feel right when I don’t have these items, and would not change a thing. They help me function and so why change that? I know they say Caffeine is bad for you, but I feel it has benefits, I do drink decaf tea, but with coffee no. I love the kick it gives me so why change that? It is good to have things that you enjoy.

The next thing I enjoy is listening to podcasts and been listening to these on a daily basis. The ones I have been listening to, is Mel Robbins and Vern Cotton.

I do enjoy exercise to and do a short workout, just six exercises and then walking, and playing out in the garden with my son. I don’t do complicated or too extreme, but just enough to feel the results. Life Coaching/Monday Reset/Has this made a difference

Hello, so if you don’t know what I am talking about then please read my last weeks blog about it Monday rest/will I get it done . I wanted to see if this was a good habit to get into and plan doing this as a weekly habit. This was talked about a lot on Youtube and wasn’t sure if I could do it. So I decided I would try it out.

It helped set the day and a week on a high. So am going to do the same this Monday. I will be dusting my windowsill and fire place. Then I am going to vacuum and clear my rubbish. My laundry has all been done which never usually happened. I would put these jobs off.

It helped me to continue my monthly challenge for June, which was to sort one area of my life and both have helped me hand in hand, because it just helps with having the energy, and today as I write this blog Sunday Evening, I have done more today than I have done in a week.

This doesn’t mean I didn’t take a break. I did. I watched some of the Glastonbury Music Festival and feel ready to start a new week.

It is good to have structure and I live by having a routine. I need to set myself up and prep, with everything I do so I don’t lose momentum.

This is the key to getting more out of your day. I hate the word chore because it instantly puts me off. I like goal, because it is something I can build on. Something I can progress and sorting my life out is what keeps me afloat and awake.

Changing my habits from bad to good, is setting the tone of where I see myself. It gives me balance and is another key factor. If you have two bags of different weights this can be tricky to carry, but if they are at the same level then it is easier to carry.

So find balance in your life and build on your good habits and this will teach you, how to feel good and content, and feel that you’ve got more out of your days, rather than sitting int he same four walls all of the time.
