Mirror mirror on the wall who is the greatest of them all.

When we look in the mirror what do you see, what do we think of ourselves and what would we change.

I hear you answer everything, I hate myself, I hate my boobs, my hair, my body, it is ugly and not what I imagine myself looking.

I can relate to this so much as I would in the passed go through those thoughts and feelings when I looked at myself in the mirror. I did develop and eating disorder, and it did bring me down to the point I felt sometimes perhaps I am better of not being in this world at all.

However you can get over these feelings, like I have by learning and saying to yourself “No more I am not going to allow these feelings of hatred towards myself anymore”

I got to the point where I was sick of feeling low and disliking myself that I decided “Right I am going to do something about this” and I have. No one in this world is perfect but everyone has strengths and everyone has weaknesses and it is how you take on challenges in your life that can make a difference. It is OK not to know everything or have everything in life, as I like not knowing sometimes, it is the unknown that can excite us and make us surprised that once we entered the unknown we can find surprises and things we have always wanted. The not having everything you want can help make you stronger by aiming towards these things, but it will take commitment, but think about the goals you want in life and go for them.

When I got married for example I hadn’t really had many serious relationships, so even though we had been together for 4 years before we wedded I had no idea really of what I was getting myself into, and I bet my husband had know idea too. I remember him continuously saying before we got married “It won’t change anything really as we already spend a lot of time together anyway” I am not sure if he was meaning this or trying to tell himself, but no one knows what being married to someone is like until they actually get married. My husband even admits that even though you think marriage won’t change a relationship it does.

So when getting married it was entering the unknown but now I am on the other side, it has been a rollercoaster at times, but we are still together and that has lead to amazing surprises, that I have the gift of love, I enjoy giving love to someone I can have a laugh with and be friends with aswell as being married to the person I had chosen, and now we have the best gift of all, a child.

This has helped me with my confidence, along with writing and exercise. I remember doing that first run, I felt like my throat was going to fall out, and my legs were gone give way, it was extremely hard, but with time and commitment I now run as if I have run all my life.

So with building confidence comes commitment, learning, making those lifestyle changes that can lead you to the unknown but will surprise and help bring you better confidence.

You will be surprised at what you can achieve when you put your heart and mind into it.

So I will support you all the way and lets get cracking.

beginning a new life, building a life for yourself, carriesrealworld, Doing things differently, everyonecanbuildacastle.wordpress.com, Life changes, new chapters

As we begin to get older our thoughts and beliefs can change, it can be due to changes that had occurred along the way. For example when we are teenagers we become more aware of our surroundings and our thoughts and fears.

Being in a accident, or someone close to you died suddenly. That’s what happened to me when I was working at a holiday resort and one of our friends one morning hadn’t turned up for work, which was very unlike him, he was always there. We had gone for a drink with him the night before, and next morning he was dead. He died of adult cot death.

Image result for doing thing differently

It totally changed my outlook on life and made me see how quickly how life can be whisked away from you, and it made me make changes in my life, because I knew if I didn’t I would still be stuck in a rut, and I needed to get out of that.

It made me see that sometimes you can’t always choose the path you want to go, as Nigel our friend who sadly died, just one morning went to sleep and didn’t wake up.

Working for the holiday camp had changed my life too, it made me become more independent and I had to defend for myself, and it made me learn to stand on my own two feet. It could be tough and times, and when I first got there I wanted to come home, but once I found my feet I managed to start a new life for myself and I met my now husband.

It made me understand that change is often good and learning from my husband has made me see things differently too, like for example focusing on one thing at a time, instead of trying to do two things at once.

When unexpected events happen it can make you see how much time we take for granted, and it is important as I have learned as I have gotten older to accept the different things that happen in my life, and it just means you have to take a different path.

I know when there is a new chapter to begin a I can feel inside my body and mind. I start to feel like I am stuck in a rut again, and we all need change in our lives, that’s what makes our world go round. I believe now that if something is not working, time for change and a new chapter.

So seeing things differently is okay because life is about learning and understanding ourselves as well as others.

Achieving your goals, Be spontaneous, Believe in yourself, carriesrealworld, everydaylivingandlifestyle.wordpress.com, everyonecanbuildacastle.wordpress.com, Goal setting

For me goal setting is the key to success and I truly believe that, and I have proven to myself that I can achieve goals I set out for myself. For example I set myself a goal to write everyday and I have done that, and now it’s become a daily habit for me, weather it is writing a blog, a book or a journal.

Image result for quotes about goal setting

For me goal setting helps drive myself forward and helps keep the mind in a positive light as much as possible. Don’t get me wrong I still get down days, but I try to do something positive each day, check out this video I watched today about how to Crush Your Goals and be Successful, by Myka Stauffer.

Goal setting can be done through the year, not just in the new year and should be life changing goals. Check out my blog where I talk about life changes.

Goals that will  benefit you in the long run, that does mean getting yourself out of your comfort zone and being courageous and spontaneous.

Separate your goals, into personal, relationships, career, financial, social and spiritual.

I always wanted to do something I never thought I could do, to prove to myself what I am capable of and I feel I have done that, I wanted to be a football coach and I did it, I wanted to win the dancing cup for the highest marks and I got it, through hard work and it continues on, and setting goals helps keep my passions and myself alive.

So set those goals and feel proud of yourself for achieving those goals. Don’t feel disheartened if they don’t work out or you don’t get the results you were expecting, just keep driving forward and you will get to where you want to be in life and believe in everything you do is a success.

How do you find your passion?

Finding your passion can be tricky, especially if you are like me and interested in many different things, but once you have found it, it can be the best thing you have ever done.

I love writing to me it has become my passion, and it something I have always loved to do, but wasn’t sure how to share this with people. Then I discovered the world of blogging and it has become my passion to share the many things I am interested by creating blogs.

I have made mistakes and like most things in life I am still learning, but that is the joy of it. Like a Stand up comedian wants to know what jokes worked and what didn’t, I want to know what blogs grabbed an audience attention and what didn’t.

Image result for finding your passion

Being part of the blogging community has changed my life, it made me see that my words can be powerful to others and that makes me feel good to be able to reach out to others by the power of the internet.

Check out this video below which talks about how to find your passion.

Searching for your passion can take time, but be persistent.

You have to train yourself and develop good habits that you can be passionate about. See my blog I wrote about My Daily Habits, and you got to start doing rather than thinking.

Check out this video, by Marie Forleo.

So go and find your passion, create and action plan to help you get you there, and keep pursuing as your passion will come.

As I have grown through the years, now I am 40 years of age I have incorporated some daily habits that set me up through the days, weeks and months.

Image result for my daily habits

The first thing I always do is get out of bed and dressed, unless it is the weekend and I allow myself some time just in my PJ’s as I see the weekend as my personal time, where I can do what I want, with the exception I have to look after my son of course he is priority.

The second thing that I incorporate is Youtube, or listening to podcasts in the morning and through out my day, they really help get my motivational juices going and where I get my inspiration for my blogs and books from.

Thirdly going for a walk even if it is to my son’s school and back or through the local park, grab a coffee on the way and let my thoughts roll through my mind.

Fourth thing is making my bed, it really does help set up the day and makes sure once I am up, I am up out of bed for good, even though there are still days I may sneak back into bed occasionally, but I still get my work done.

Cleaning the house is important to me too, and having and sort through, potter around putting bits and pieces away, really helps with my days and clear the mind.

Brushing my teeth and exercising at home is also a daily occurrence that I like to add into my days and gets me on the move and stop procrastinating.

Plus planning, without planning I wouldn’t be able to function at all, and is what I do on a daily basis so I know, where I am heading and what needs to be done. Check out my Filofax and Planner page on carriesrealworld.com

So what your daily habits I would love to hear from you.

Taking a leap of faith

Being inspired by others, bungee jump from a helicopter, everyonecanbuildacastle.wordpress.com, Great North Run, Taking a leap of faith, Taking on challenges, Youtube

Being someone who loves watching Youtube. I watch it every morning, whilst my son has his breakfast and in between getting him ready for school, I was alerted a video by Will Smith. Yes, the Will Smith has a Youtube channel.

He decided to on a challenge and bungee jump from a helicopter into the Grand Canyon.

Don’t get me wrong this is something I would never do, but I can’t help but get inspired by people who would, or have done.

Check out the video below:

The biggest challenge I have ever taken on was taking part in the Great North Run, and I remember travelling up there getting quite emotional, thinking I wouldn’t make it back home, but I did.

After I took on the challenge of the Great North Run, the Adrenaline rush was intense and I felt I could take on the world.

Taking a leap of faith can help you get out of a rut, and make you see that you can take on anything, if you put your mind and heart to it.

So if there is something you have always wanted to do, then do it, as life is short and we all don’t know what is around the corner, and setting challenges can really help the mind and body.

If you have completed challenges like Will Smith than fantastic and well done, I think you are amazing, and inspiring.

What has been the biggest challenge in your life?

Is there something you have always wanted do and done it?

How did make you feel?

Find a good routine can help have a more structured life

everydaylivingandlifestyle.wordpress.com, everyonecanbuildacastle.wordpress.com, Organise your life, Plan your days, Routine, Structured day

I live by a routine as it helps structure my day, with Henry going to school I have managed to find a good routine, so I know that the first thing is breakfast, then getting my son dressed ready for school and then leave the house to walk to school.

It just sets up my day and helps generate good habits.

For example making my bed everyday can really help set up my day, having that cup of tea in the morning, listening to that favourite song or doing my daily errands, that morning workout.

Image result for routine

Once you find a good routine, you can still be flexible, and be prepared for any surprises.

I write down my plan for each day, week at a time, or sometimes daily, depending on what I need to do.

Writing down the routine can help make you stick to it, and make space for other jobs that need to get done that may crop up.

We even have a routine for the evening, doing homework, TV, dinner and then bed time.

So do you have a routine? How has a routine helped you in the day?

I would love to hear.

Many thanks for reading,

Carrie X
