Hello and happy new year! It is so good that I have a better laptop because my other one was causing so many problems that it really was making me feel frustrated, but stuck with it and my mum got me a new one and so thankful.
I no longer set resolutions but life changes, and so I managing my mind to make sure I feel calm and if there are challenges by not dwelling on them. I would over analyse everything and that something must have happened for a reason, and would drive myself mad.
It can be draining, like I was watching a live Instagram post, and typed a comment on the live but when I read it back, it didn’t say what I wanted and so I was like, “I hope he doesn’t think I was being rude”, so now I read back what I have written before posting. How many of you have done that? Or texting to the wrong person, or found your phone calling an emergency number?
I hope it isn’t just me?
So, I learn to reflect and learn from it.
It is changing your thought process, and realise that you are only human. So getting out of my head, journal which always helps me and think okay next time I will make sure I check my text and put my phone on lock so if is accidentally sit on it, its not calling anyone.
If you’d like to share your life changes for 2024 then please leave a comment below.
It was about death, and how Stacey, is fearful of it, and it really hit home how life can end at any time. You have to live whilst you are breathing and spend time enjoying yourself, and especially during these times and spending time with the people you love. Have a weekly coffee and chat with friends each week, and not go to a coffee shop, but at home, and just catching up, or go for a walk together, and just be present.
I once a week go out for a coffee to prepare notes for my other channel, My Way of living, and I enjoy it and spend time looking in Charity shops and walking through the local common or park. I have an injury at the moment which was really hurting me yesterday, and so couldn’t walk too far. I hope this heals, but I am not going to let it effect my mood or stop me from getting outdoors. I just need to walk slowly and not rush, and I don’t like walking fast, I like to spend time watching the ducks in the duck pond, nearby and last night watched a film, which i don’t always do. It was on BBC iPlayer called The Nativity, but made a change and just relax and wind down properly so I have a goods night sleep and feel that I have had a good day, no matter what challenges are that I have had to face that day.
Today I went to see my sons school Art Exhibition, and was so nice and different, and he was very pleased with himself, seeing what my son has done, and you have to take in these moments, and we have to make these events, and I was nervous, but glad we (my husband and I) went to see it. These days of my childs life are important to me and helps to keep me living and enjoying life.
I am extra tired today, and always feel overwhelmed this time of the year, making sure I bought gifts I need, I sent some Christmas cards. I always get these done so late, and wrapping gifts. Yet going to still make sure today is a good day.
There will be days where we struggle to get out of bed, and the business of the week can catch up on us, but I know if I have slept well, that I have had a good day, and opening more doors to my life and so make each day count now and not feeling any dread, that I used to feel each day.
I hope you all have a Happy Christmas, and I will be writing more blogs, but my son finishes for the Christmas holidays tomorrow, so may not get the chance to blog, but will continue into the new year.
It is coming to the end of 2023 and soon it will be 2024 and it is time to celebrate another year, whether it was good or bad, and there we can’t change whats gone but can start a fresh and let go of regrets and live for each day that you are alive.
I will be setting goals and thinking of the habits I want to continue with, and what I need to change to have more shape in my life and not be so far ahead but enjoy each day the best I can and not thinking all about the future but now. Today I went for a walk and was getting anxious about going and had was having second thoughts, but went and felt so good, and take in my surroundings and check out the shops and managed to buy more gifts and got one more to get, and then I am done, but forget that I need a few things still for my son to buy, but for others, are done for 2023.
I do like planning and making lists, but as I grow each day and making sure I am present with my son and other friends and family and let go of the passed, and the wins I have had. I would like to take this opportunity in saying thanks to those subscribng to my blogs on this site and others, and on my Youtube and Instagram and my other sociall media platforms.
I wrote a blog post a while back called Letting it go, Autumn Reset Day 11: Letting things go if there are things that serve no purpose in your life anymore, then let it go, to pass it to someone else, who may want it instead.
Your commitement to your life, is about you before helping someone else and thats not being selfish. I need to make sure I am fully rested to spend time with my son and meet his needs and making sure I wake up to see him off to school and when he comes back, and develop my own knowledge of life, to help support his.
I need to manage my personal hygiene, so my son knows how important it is, and help to stay healthy and helps with my confidence to help his, and that I wake up to start the day on a good knote, so my others around me can feel the same. This world is not for one person but for everyone on it, and that I look after stuff to look after my sons stuff. Helping one another through life challenges and that I get back on my feet to set an example for others to follow.
So, make a commitment to manage your life and that you learn to love yourself to love others.
I have created a new video for my Youtube channel My way of living, about Committing to using up what you already have: https://youtu.be/8fj0u2RHyGY
When you see that you no longer fearing life, and that you feel good each day and able to shake off the anxiousness, you have turned a corner and that your life is taking shape, perhaps with surprises but I feel that I am enjoying the days and feel positive no matter the challenges that come my way.
Getting out and exploring has helped and having time with my son and family, along with making the most of the weekends, rather than doing nothing, has helped me be more present that has helped me get some shape in my life.
Really dig deep into what you want out of life and who you want to spend it with. Have new experiences. I want to do some more courses via Adult Community colleges to help, aswell as doing some online, and really learn about the mind and body more, to help build awareness, when it comes to happiness and wellbeing, and how our minds operate.
Yes it helps us to think and feel, but look into why we feel up and down a lot. Perhaps you feel like you are like a Yoyo. It could be food, and that leads you to feel sluggish a lot and that you want to change but your urges get the better of you, and feeling that you will always be punishing yourself over your diet, and will never change. Yet we all know deep down that we can, its often fear that other foods don’t give you the same joy.
Take each step to improve at having a better diet and allow yourself chocolate but work for it. I will if I have done all I needed to do in the morning for example will then make a coffee, or a treat and not talking just food, but like you would when you child does something good. I stop with the guilt, and as long as I get some exercise will have a treat or two, along with saving myself for my dinner and having a mixture of meals.
I have realised that I enjoy buying food and love mouching around the big stores but also budget, and making different meals. I do like cooking whilst listening to music or an audio book and found my real joys and using it to be happy each day. I also like it when I don’t need to cook, and help with the washing up. like as I write this blog had a lovely roast dinner, made by my husband and today took Henry up London as it was his birthday on Saturday and doing different things and experiences can help.
So make each day count and when you are no longer feel stressed, feel good and that days aren’t hard, and you enjoy life more, means your life is taking shape.
So, three days left of my Autumn Reset, and I have happy with the progress I have made to get my next book completed, almost got the areas of my room done and tomorrow going to do my Sunday reset, to help me in these last days and I like what I have done so far, by sorting out my top shelf above my desk, sorted out my wardrobe and closet/cupboard I decluttered and just got my shoes to do.
I have filmed these areas and I hope they help you, and motivate you to have a reset, and if not Autumn then Winter and before Christmas, so you can celebrate without having so much to do, and have more time to celebrate.
Writing books can take a while, and make sure I some spend time with my son, so have to manage my time so I don’t stress, but take time away from the computer, to stop with burnout and moving from my desk helps the process and why I wanted to sort out room too, to have more time to write and not having so much stuff, but what I need and know I am gong to use.
This is my desk and I love how it looks, I do need to clean it which I am going to do tomorrow and still like to make changes to it, but I like that I don’t have too much on it and helps me write, having a nice clear space.
I was also trying to finish a course I enrolled in, and glad to be getting this done, as there are others I want to do, as there is still so much I want to learn and grow my writing and knowledge in helping people through my blogs, books and videos, along with face to face. As I want others lives to be happy and use the tools I have learned and learning so I can do that.
It still feels surreal that it is coming to the end of October and have to get my Christmas planned, along with birthdays, including my sons and so using my evenings like now at the weekend to catch up on tasks, being it has been half term, and spending time with family, and enjoying the week with my son and not sat in front of the computer all day long, and like going outdoors. This helps to clear my mind and boosts my energy.
I have realised I love food shopping and in big supermarkets, mainly Sainsbury’s, ASDA and M&S, because of what is on offer, and like planning my dinners, with some treats and when I need clothing essentials. This morning we took a trip to ASDA and bought some socks, and went to Sainsbury’s on Friday and bought cake mix as we made some cupcakes which I have filmed for my main Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@typicallondongal Along with items for dinner and I enjoy it.
So what have you discovered since you did a RESET? How has it made you feel if you have completed your tasks for it. You can leave a comment below.
I do have another video where I talk about how I manage my money and post every week, and hope they help you too, to manage your money: https://www.youtube.com/@mywayofliving1602
If you asked a group of people what to them what luxury is I bet you have a million to one different things and answers.
Winning the National lottery and becoming a millionaire. People flying business class and having dinner at the Ritz and being able to buy a Sports Car. Yet really it is anything you don’t often have and so because a luxury. Example having a piece of chocolate, as a kid it was having Snowball at Christmas and having a bike to cycle as a kid around my estate I used to live in Hammersmith.
We can all have luxuries what ever that is to you. It for me a personal thing and has meaning by it.
In 2012 I treated along with my ex-husband booked a first class trip to Orlando Florida and it was a brilliant experience and nice to be on the other side for once. Now I have had that experience I would pay that money again to do it. It was worth the expense and so my focus is to eventually take my son over there and he and hopefull with other kids I may have, there. Along with other places too.
Often we can fear luxury items in case it doesn’t work out or because they get addicted yet Luxury means Luxurious and so the fear is the power of what can happen when it is something that changes for every and having luxury everyday counts. Its what gives us energy to continue and rewarding yourself.
So treat yourself and never fear or feel guilty and often people see what a great luxury it is to receive flowers from someone for example and so follow you.
Hello and welcome! It is Monday late afternoon and I have Monday video for you to share, and this in video I talk about Events you can’t control and the things you can.
It is all about how you see things. When I have a traumatic event in my life that I couldn’t control I would automatically shut down to spend time coming to terms with and then give myself time to move on. For me it is gradual process, but what I have done that has always been the one thing that has helped me gain perspective, as that is the key, is to journal and then say, “Okay so where do i want to go now and how will I go about giving myself peace in addressing this event, so it doesn’t hurt me any more?”.
Life is about building and rebuilding as certain events we can’t control like COVID, comes into our life to turn it upside down, so it has meant that many having to work at home whilst the kids are shouting and screaming, being off school and then having to be the teacher aswell as the parent. Some people can easily adjust to this when others are left with thinking “Where do i start?”
For me it was “Okay, I will in this time spend that amount of time with Henry, so in the morning and then this amount of time to do work”. You find a way and for me it meant working and using the evenings, weekends when he would be looked after by someone else to have a break, and it is “Take one step at a time”.
Never rush in, but say “How can I deal with this and make it pain free?” So use some of the time to all of you in the family including your kids create a family meal. I do believe that Cookery should be bought back into schools, having your kids organize the grocery shopping for a change. If we aren’t have a load of picnic’s in the park, why not have one in the garden.
As I see it “You find a way of making it easy” and follow the day.
So, more blogs to come and have a good rest of the week.
many thanks for watching my videos and reading this blog,
Now I know we are in Lockdown still but we have to face the fact that it looks like it won’t be shifting anytime soon, but we can still create positivity and even create more knowing we haven’t got to rush anywhere.
Organize a space a day. So I am not an organization enthusiast at all, it always gets put at the back of the list but doesn’t mean I don’t try. I love pottering around and when I had my own place, I would see a place that needed sorting out and just did it. It doesn’t have to be something that takes all day. I am moving soon, it is definite in London, and so looking forward to it and yes be organizing the best I can, to make it homely and comfy, which for me is important and with my new man
Add a new positive habit. So each morning I will spend sometime journalling, go through my notepad to help keep tabs with what I have done each day and that needs to be done, and journal using my new Mrs Hinch Activity Book and now I choose a song to tweet and is music that has been part of my life. Plus I write in one of my planners things I wish to do each evening before I shut up shop for the day
Take up a new skill. I love doing short online courses and will be doing more and I have some Online courses in Customer Service and it is great to learn different things and it is so easy to do now we have the joy of the internet. Check out my Education Network: https://carrieseducationnetwork.thinkific.com/
Read a bit a day. If you are struggling to read a book then have time set each day to do some and what I do often is try to, depending on the length of a book, is to read a chapter a day. I love reading and it can take me a while at times, but is something I have loved as a kid and it just helps me switch off and do something for myself each day.
Read other motivation blog posts and article. As part of my job as a writer I do have to often do research and read other blogs and articles. Let me just add I do not copy but it is for inspiration and motivates me to keep creating original content of my own and be in touch with the blog writing world. Here is one blog I enjoy reading via a site called Bloglovin: https://theeverygirl.com/
Do from 5 to 10 minutes of exercise a day. I do like to exercise but since being run down I haven’t done any for a few weeks but when I do it does relax me in a funny kind of way and helps get up and get out of bed each day. See my site where I talk about keeping fit: https://sportsandfitnesscoaching.com
Eat one healthy meal a week if not everyday and plan a fun meal each day. I love theme meals some days and it just helps with being happy to cook and motivates me to buy certain foods, each week. Check out my blog site: https://carrieshomestyleandfashion.wordpress.com site where I do a weekly Shopping ideas and Meal ideas weekly post
Create an online course of your own. I love developing new Online courses as well as enrolling on them and it can be so easy now. There is Thinkific and Skillshare where you can set up courses with no costs involved
Life doesn’t have to be the same everyday and you still being in Lockdown can have fun and be with family.
Never be stuck in a rut but make changes that will help you through this Pandemic and remember with the wonders of the Internet and modern technology we can still socialise and have a Zoom meeting each week to interact with people we still have in our lives and remember Facetime too.
Many thanks for reading,
Carrie L.M X
