I know a lot of coaches and health experts say to get out of your comfort zone, and that is me included and have changed that mindset. I have begun to realise that this can often lead to stress and anxiety, and so from my own self I like to take it step by step, rather than jumping in with both feet and hating every minute of it.

There are many things I have wanted to do something that I never thought I could do and that is speak publicly to people and from watching others film their life, to help others I have three Youtube channels and now working on radio.

At school I was mocked when we had to play game, where we had to, for one minute talk about an object or subject and I was stuttering and wanted the earth to swallow me up and it made me for a while fearful of talking in front of the class and yet, as a young child performed in shows when I did tap and ballet had no fear and loved it.

When you grow from being a child into an adult your awareness increases of ourselves and begin to have feelings we have never had before and I was super shy at one point. I attended a drama school and was fearful, and I just froze and just sat there and didn’t know what to do and the teacher watching,f was really looking at me as if I poohed in the class and just wanted to run and not come back.

Yet I loved dancing and when I got to be in a school play again loved it and performed in assembly’s but when it came to speaking out I was a nervous wreck.

Doing Drama helped me and how I gained my confidence to talk in front of people and planning on what I was going to say and I was shy going to my first session of ballroom dancing and soon overcome my shyness and found the skill I was good at and it bought me out of shell and glad I took the chance and it was through a friend, and going with a friend can make it less daunting if you want to do something that you have always wanted to do, and can make it fun and take the fear away.

So never allow your fear to avoid chances because it can have a real positive effect to lead to other chances.

Are you so busy you don’t know what the day is? I thought with my son being off school last Tuesday that is was a Sunday and forgot that it was Tuesday and today he is off and inspired me to write this post because I often will be so lost in getting my son ready for school, making sure he has all he needs for the day, to plan the meals and food to be used for the week and spending time writing and editing books I am writing, blogs and Filming vlogs and doing my courses I have enrolled in and get so sucked up by business and not having time to just sit and not be on my laptop and looking at my phone.

Photo by cottonbro studio on Pexels.com

Pre-plan: We have so many ways to book a day off one with no phone, no laptop or looking at social media and not rushing to get out of bed, and let your family know that this is your day off and take yourself out on a date.

Get the kids do it: I do enjoy doing my sons dinner, but also like to have time off so depending on the age, and can use the oven, microwave and hob, then get them to make a meal or their own meal. This is not being mean, I just feel they need to be responsible and a essential skill is to know how to cook a meal. It is giving them more freedom.

Have a routine: So not being contradicting, but mean decide on what to drink, wear, listen to and watch and put up a do not disturb notice and make the time to have good old fashion “Me time”. This could be reading a book, going for a walk and tell family that you will be putting phone on silent and watch a TV Series. The programme I last watched was Outlaws on BBC iPlayer and was very funny and so looking for a new series to watch. I love a documentary and watched Lilly Allen Rags to Riches on Youtube and one thing I am dying to make when I have a day off, is homemade Nacho’s with the works. Guacamole, sour cream, salsa and a few chillies. So going to see if I can do this.

Meal for one. Do a meal for one and the Nacho’s could be it, but you can also buy yourself a steak dinner with a bottle of wine, as long as you drink safely and go to the cinema, or choose a movie at home and remember Ice Cream and popcorn if not doing Nachos.

Picnic season: This I love doing in the summer in the park with a coffee and going to use this time to write, or read a magazine.

A time to cleanse: I love my skincare regime and not just my face but other parts of my body and having a bath and hair wash. I like to use my Sundays to wash my hair whilst my son is still a sleep or watching his tablet, watching something with a cup of tea.

So look after yourselves and just enjoy the free time and just taking a break just for yourself can really help the mind and the body.

It is so hard not to be self critical, about your life and put ourselves down, but doing the laundry and clearing it each week is a win, getting kids to school okay is a win and working out on the treadmill is a win. It is anything where you feel you have achieved what you have set out to achieve and brings out the endorphins within your mind and body. It gives you confidence and makes you feel good about you as a person and recognise the things we do for others and for yourself, that has made a difference and recognise your own value.

Photo by Anna Shvets on Pexels.com

Celebrating who you are by making yourself makes you feel that you can live each day at your own means whilst respecting others. Value yourself and recognise when you have had a good successful day because you got the TV fixed, you saved money on groceries and was done because your kids are your life and what a person you are by looking after others, and got yourself out of debt, something that has been a burden but has been worth it because of how it makes you feel.

Each day I acknowledge myself by recognising the highlights in my life and focus more of the now.

For a long time lived in a dream world, because felt that there was no purpose in my life, my friends were busy with their jobs and growing their life and felt left behind.

Now though I give myself credit and celebrating my wins each day has helped with that.

Every time I pay off my credit card is a win and getting bits I need for the week is a win, it is making me see that I am growing into the person I wish to be. I no longer want to rely on others and take responsibility of my feelings, so I can be there for my son, spend time with family and build my knowledge to make a difference to the people around me through my content. If you want to make changes in your life then start from going through what is getting at you, and needs sorting out. This time four years ago I lost sense of myself and things were happening according to my mind, to realise that actually it is okay and I was in debt, staying in bed all the time and felt very alone and that my life was just too hard to face.

Now it is June 2024 I feel so much better taking on new opportunities as I am now working Voluntary for Epsom Hospital Radio, which I wanted to do when I left school, but had no idea of how to go about it, I published another book I Mum&Me and editing another to publish and got back into my fitness, building steps and doing weight training and focusing on my son as there was a time where I hardly saw him at all and have a stronger bond than ever before and I love him more each, playing sports with him when he is not moaning, and got my life back and is growing more and more each day.

There are still so much I want to do and as humans we are growing everyday, and ask yourself, what do you value in life? I had to change to get to the next stage in my life and not holding back from opportunities and building back my confidence within myself and belief, and planning what else I want in my life and taking action.

I’ve being watching a lot of Amy Winehouse, who build her own successful writing music and singing and raw songs as she wrote about what was happening in her life, but sadly she left the world when she was at the height of her career and it feels me with such sadness that she was not in a good place, yet had major success.

So it is not about having it all but finding what makes you happy in the world we live in and not allow life get to us and to make your stronger, and live your life to the best of your ability.

Hello and welcome to another post. This week was a bit rushed as there were appointments were made ages ago and so was thinking I had a clear week had to reschedule and manage my content in the little gaps and doing two courses so had to change my plans but that’s life.

In this video I am sharing https://youtu.be/H4L8hdfj_mE getting to grips with life and getting my arse in gear as I guilty of putting things off so I schedule when I know I have a clear day to get it done. I am giving my kitchen in Epsom cupboard cleaned inside, and cleaning is not my favourite thing, so I need a clear day to know not to put it off and get it done.

I filmed a vlog that is coming on my vlog channel, Typical London Gal Carrie Holmes, of cleaning my packaging and cutlery draw. Jobs that I like to do, but want to take my time in doing and not rush. I am not a fan of rushing.

So I hope you enjoy this video and if you’d like to know when I post a blog or video subscribe to my educational Youtube channel and is completely free and this blog site.
