I have not always been happy with life. I would put myself down and it became a habit.

This was along with being bad with money. As a kid I was very good with saving and then I started earning and working in Camden I would splurge and would be reckless. I ended up in debt by spending money that wasn’t mine and what I didn’t have, avoiding my bank account and now thankfully being 46 saving again and be cautious.

Living badly can have long lasting effects and falling further down a hole and not sure what to do. I would be so self critical. it got on my nerves and wanted to feel good. I felt I was fat, got easily upset and alone. I never felt part of anything as a child and really wanted to fit in but it seemed impossible.

I never made my bed, I was untidy and was addicted to crisps. When I first lived away from home, I would wait until I had no clothes left to wash my clothes, never ate breakfast and just wasn’t respecting myself and my life.

It is hard to be happy all the time but I know how to manage my feelings and emotions now and I got help. I was in a mental health hospital and this helped me get back on my feet. I make sure I sleep well, I have things to look forward to and becoming a mum I didn’t want my son to be affected by my thoughts and feelings and he has his moments of not dong the right thing, but to me that is part of the process of being a child. I want my son to know what is right and what is wrong. Also express himself. I will say now if I am unhappy but not getting angry, but by chatting rather than it be an heated argument.

I will be honest if I don’t know something and feel comfortable in doing so. I will ask myself questions to challenge the critical mind such as “No” when I get anxious about going out and What My focus is. This has really helped. It has slowed me down. I remember a colleague called me “Mrs. Rush Rush” because I would speed around the call floor and a colleague when working at a holiday camp asked me, why I was always rushing and it was a habit. I think part of it was living in the city and following others.

So I take my time now and give myself plenty of time to get ready for the day, have a cup of tea and read. I will make my bed now and make sure my son and I have breakfast and plan ahead.

I look after my body. My nutrition needs a bit of work but doing this a bit at a time, by eating different things, like I will have a yogurt, cereal or toast and not deprive myself, but insuring I do eat some fruit and vegetables and that I take care of my skin and journaling a lot, addressing issues and challenges but keeping a good open mind, allowing myself to think things through and having days away from my laptop and cleaning, tidying. I love taking my son out and playing sports and just living a good happier life. I set myself goals, I do workout and active. I walk a lot and do weights and other exercises and just listen to my mind and body.

Habits are not just a one time thing but something that grows into being good and get rid as you grow, the bad.

I hope you enjoy my blogs and what habits have you changed? Please leave a comment below.

Inner critic, life coaching post, summer project 2025, The word no, weekly blog

If you are not wanting to meet with friends, then ask yourself, “Why?” and talk to that critic that’s in your mind. It will always be there. because its part of your brain protecting you but we have to push it away and meet with friends and if it doesn’t go well then noone can keep you there and it is your choice.

Will you feel left out?

Like you are missing out?

I would often feel like that a lot and I realise it was because I wouldn’t go with them and it was a personal attack, when seeing pictures on Facebook. Now I have realised, is that, no they’ve not sending me a message to say I was uninvited and often too caught up in seeing other people myself and when I did got out I would want to stay out all evening.

When I hear the word “NO” I feel like I am in a car stepping on the breaks all of sudden.

My mind is resisting right now. I want to clean the Freezer but its given me a dread feeling. What if I can’t get it clean? Should I film in a vlog? My mind is overactive and the doubt just seeps in and before I know it, that job does not get done as I weighing up the dos and don’ts.

I have my finances to go through. I feel my mind resistance in doing so and it drives me up the wall. So I am going to go through my finances, no matter what my mind is saying, but listen to my gut and know that once it is done this weekly task then that’s it updated, until next week.

It is up to me and what I want to get out of this day. I enjoyed yesterday writing whilst having the tennis on and watching a bit of Youtube. So lets see what I do next and yes if my mind says NO, then I listen to be my gut and ignore the self doubt and weighing up the Consequences.

It’s about get up and go.

It has been a life of regret, struggles and low self belief. I had no respect for myself and would avoid looking in the mirror. Check out this video about Changing your Image:

life Coaching Video for my Summer Project programme about Changing Your image

I go through the issues I had and doing things to get over those feelings and feel good about myself.

It has taken many years, learning and understanding to accept myself and proud of the person I have become but do need to recover certain relationships as often it is the inside the person that matters and not calling someone a name and hitting out to the people that I love and who love me back and recovering from a Mental Health diagnosis, psychosis and having terrible anxiety.

I kept feeling the worst and forgiving myself, check out this blog and feeling good about myself: https://buildingselfconfidencetud.blogspot.com/2025/06/be-your-own-bestfriend.html

Things that were happening to me growing into a woman I found tough, being an early developer and felt out of control as my body changed and so my insecurities grew.

Life has a way of hitting you in the face and making you feel lost. I lost myself for a while, battling with my Mental Health, but from the knocks that life makes, where you fall of the rails to make you stronger and feel I do have courage and resilience to not to allow my inner critic get me down and spending time with the right people who do really do love me, has made me see that I Iook fine and the right shape for my height and body.

I blamed others for the way I felt and I had to take responsibility that noone is to blame I just needed to get a hold of myself and stop worrying what I don’t have but what I do have.

It has been a rollercoaster but I now know how to stop it and make an effort to help me to feel good about myself. I hated my teeth, my boobs and my stomach.

So I please enjoy the video and please subscribe if you’d like to be notified of when I post on this site and my educational Youtube Channel.

Being happy, developing positive habits, down days, everyone can build a castle, improving your life

Did you ever do the puzzle where you had to connect the dots that would form a picture? Well you can do that with life.

I have filmed my first video for this years Life Coaching Programme and so please check it out: https://youtu.be/bcHG7Dx_3ck?si=W4nzQka-oHxQ_yLr That is about Habits and with changing your habits it can help to join things together. Once that starts you will see changes in your life. In the printable I created check this blog which had the link to my printable I have created for this programme The Beginning of My Summer Project 2025 I am a Radio DJ/Presenter and connected another dot to having the life I want.

In my free printable I do each week, my cheat sheet I talk creating a Map Do Ten Things it helps me with writing my books. So the first ones I did were parenting books and wrote and published my first novel, A Lonely Walk to Happiness and now creating a series, and drawing out a map of ok so first book this year is to republish book 1 of the series, then continue to work on another book which is a stand alone and then work book 2 of my series.

Create a chart to see your progress or journal.

With WordPress it shows you how engaged your readers are and how much traffic you are getting.

With that it helps to see what blogs they are particularly interested in and why I continued with this programme because of the positive response to them.

So spend time mapping out what you want to work on and with that set goals, develop new positive habits. Example: I know when I brush my teeth how better I feel and there was a time I would miss days but lead me to not feeling good and having bad dreams about it. I like to be active and do a bit of walking each day, even if it is for 10 minutes and this leads me having better energy to write which I enjoy and clears the brain and when I don’t feel clogged up, feel good.

Concentrate on one area at a time, brainstorming is affective too and researching. I read books on writing, watch youtube videos of other self published authors and watching other peoples routine. Add Mind mapping to your routine as I do this a lot as I see my blogs grow and the writing of my books.

I hope you find these blogs helpful and if you want to be notified when I post then please subscribe and my Educational Youtube channel and then you will not miss a blog or a video.

Please check out my Pinterest where I post too: https://uk.pinterest.com/thetypicalLondongal/summer-project-2025/

This has helped me to feel better about my life and developing better habits to live a more happier life.

You can do ten things or set a timer to do things in ten minutes. On the treadmill I will do a ten minute walk some days and weeks or walk outside, I use this also for my son who is reluctant at times in getting dressed for school or brush his teeth and it seems to work.

Here is this weeks Cheat Sheet for ideas of ten things you can do:

These are free to download and print. I post every Monday except on bank holidays.

Blog 1: The Summer Project 2025. What Do You Want to Focus on?

Focus, life coaching programme, Planning, priorities, yearly summer project

Welcome Welcome! This is my first blog of my Life Coaching Programme, Summer Project 2025 and will be filming videos and blogs, so lets get started.

So what do you want to focus on?

If I go through my mind and feel there are so many things I want to work on, but not knowing where to start, I will ask about what I want to focus on.

I want to focus on this Life Coaching programme, building my content on Youtube, my blogs and editing the first book of a series I want to create and sorting out my sons bedroom and mine. Also sorting out my sons placement for when he is in year 7, to go onto Secondary school.

Focus on each day:

So today it is my husband’ birthday, packing to go back to Epsom as I live in Wimbledon with my mum and step dad and my husband and son in Epsom, writing this first blog post of my life coaching course and watch a bit of Youtube and have a nice dinner.

In the work book/free printable The Beginning of My Summer Project 2025 Write done what you want to focus on and what is your top priority.

I will, when I plan my week put the most important item to remember or to do, as the heading of each day on my Notion Calendar. So tomorrow, remembering to send an email in regards to a Secondary School place. On Tuesday it is Go For a Walk outside as I am training to do Race for life and doing some writing in a coffee shop, Wednesday edit a vlog, Thursday my son has Afterschool club again and Friday Edit another vlog.

I limit what I plan for each day, because some tasks take longer than others. Example planning my radio show, editing a blog, vlog and on my books.

Eliminate and go through what can wait:

When it comes to focus I go through tasks that can wait and this helps me to not be overwhelmed.

As I go through my lists I will rewrite what I want to focus on, if anything more important has cropped up and change my schedule. It is all about lowering the amount but not getting distracted by all that you need to do, really focusing on what will give you the greatest pleasure in ticking it off, meeting your needs.

Please do comment on what your focus is and do the worksheet as I post and film and if you want to share what you focus is then do so. You can leave a comment below.

This is a programme I created two years ago and enjoy doing. If you want to notified when I post and keep up to date with these programmes then please subscribe.
