Life wouldn’t be life if we didn’t have a bad day and not saying that I want things to go wrong but like yesterday going up stairs my sons tipping point machine fell on the floor, so all the tokens from it fell all over the floor. Yet I didn’t dwell on it as with the help of my son we put he tipping point toy together and picked up the tokens then as planned I went to bed, and no one got hurt so didn’t give myself a hard time over it, like have done so in the passed.
It is so good to take time out from the outdoor world, but then change of scenery is also good so not being cooped up can help you feel good about each day and listen to your mind and body to enjoy the days whilst alive as life can go so quickly.
I like to do different things each day and have plenty to do.
There will always be unplanned events like if you have children, have picked up a bug, the trains being delayed and caught up in Traffic, making you late. This can cause stress, so to avoid this plan ahead and have a back up plan, something I learned from being a manager of a football team, because of the weather which we have no control over but can help us be prepared like having an umbrella and going through different routes to find which will be best, to avoid the bad weather.
If you haven’t slept well and everything is irritating you.
Plan a ritual like reading book, practice mindfulness and going for a walk always helps me and take a nap in the day if you can, or just plan for bedtime to have a good nights sleep and make sure your body is properly relaxed. As soon as I put my head on my pillow ideas of blogs and videos start and that happened last night so brain dumped and have something you can jot down to clear your thoughts and have a proper restful mind and not being on my laptop too late in the evening has made a difference too.
Do a evening checklist.
Before I got to bed I check the back door is locked and the front door, everything is turned off and switch my phone on silent and volume down so the only thing that will sound is my alarm.
I also do a check list when leaving the home. I make sure that nothing is on that shouldn’t be and check my emails daily in case my sons school have sent something to me, for my son and appointments, and that I empty my inboxes daily. Then check my phone as I get alerts on there too from my sons school and health check ups and I make sure I remember appointments made, as last week I nearly forgot about a school we (my mum and I) checking out as we got to start looking for a secondary school for my son and that I had a telephone appointment, so doing a daily check in the evenings helps to clear my mind, so my mind isn’t stirring and can properly switch off and helps reduce bad days and take more time for myself so I wake up refreshed and not more tired in the mornings, and tired enough in the evening to get a good sleep and reduce my anxiety and anxiousness that I can feel each day, when I do have a good nights sleep.
Things will go wrong in life and it is part of living. It’s all about how to handle it, should we dwell on it or take into our stride for it to go right and that is part of the living process.
So try not to beat yourself up when things don’t go to plan and if you need time to readjust then take that time.

Hello and welcome to another post. This week was a bit rushed as there were appointments were made ages ago and so was thinking I had a clear week had to reschedule and manage my content in the little gaps and doing two courses so had to change my plans but that’s life.
In this video I am sharing https://youtu.be/H4L8hdfj_mE getting to grips with life and getting my arse in gear as I guilty of putting things off so I schedule when I know I have a clear day to get it done. I am giving my kitchen in Epsom cupboard cleaned inside, and cleaning is not my favourite thing, so I need a clear day to know not to put it off and get it done.
I filmed a vlog that is coming on my vlog channel, Typical London Gal Carrie Holmes, of cleaning my packaging and cutlery draw. Jobs that I like to do, but want to take my time in doing and not rush. I am not a fan of rushing.
So I hope you enjoy this video and if you’d like to know when I post a blog or video subscribe to my educational Youtube channel and is completely free and this blog site.
You don’t have to follow others if you don’t want to, but find those who like to live the Simple Life and I am not talking about 80’s sitcom the Good Life, growing your own veg or herbs, which you can if you want, but where you know what you have to do each week and what suits your lifestyle.
Image of Rosbery Park in Epsom and where I like to walk through, as feel so good when I do.
I think we are in the “Now Culture” and yes sitting and waiting doesn’t always help but when you are exhausted each day, it is worth taking a back seat and let life take its course. I plan a lot, but sometimes it is good to just relax and do things not on the to do list. Example yesterday we watched a film, today instead of editing my book, spent time working on my blogs and catching up on Youtube and write my daily blog: https://mydailythougthsandfeelings.blogspot.com/2024/05/making-most-of-weekend.html
I use one note, my diary and google Calendar of what I want to get done each week. I use my Filofax to plan my writing and courses and go through my finances and go through my expenses and use an Excel Spreadsheet and go through important dates, such as appointments and birthdays.
When it comes to getting things done, I like to have music or something on at the background and to exercise I walk and use my exercise mat and dumbells. When it comes to cooking I like to have things in the cupboard and fridge because my husband didn’t want to use the freezer anymore, and also because like the week just gone my son and I was in Wimbledon, for half term (school holidays).
Having a simple picnic or a train ride and time to go where we want and not worry about time. I this week are going to make time to have a good clean and tidy in the kitchen again, as I did this the last week before half term, and doing more walking at home on the treadmill and outside. I like doing weights and using my exercise mat.
I like to cook and have things to hand that will keep me below budget but fulfilling and so like to have sauces to make our family favourite meals, like Meatballs and spaghetti, I am getting some left over bolognaise we had on Saturday so it doesn’t go to waste and tonight it is curry and my sons favourite meals is beans egg, and toast.
Simple meals, planning and organizing in simple ways and simple living is how I roll and will continue to do. Life doesn’t have to be hard and enjoyment is the key ingredient and feeling free from stress to make each day as good as the last one.

My life has changed a lot and it has taken a long time to find my place in life where I feel happy and content. It has been due to changes. I this morning as I write this blog got up at 5am to have extra hour to work on different projects, spend time playing with my son and following my dreams by making sure I stop feeling so anxious each day.
This is in the mornings, and it is taking a lot of testing to find my most energetic time. I no longer get tired in the afternoon and use this time to exercise unless I have gone for a walk outside, and start my day. This allows me to edit my book I am currently writing and continue doing a course I am doing, to help build my skills and knowledge.
Second tip:
Make it realistic and achievable.
Once you have found the time when you feel energy, then begin to go through your other habits.
I had been trying to get up earlier but kept failing, and the one morning it just happened after the little sleep that night, and felt wide awake, and got up at 4:30am, but found this tough to keep this going and wasn’t realistic for me so I get up now between 5 to 5:30am and suits me, and I make my first cup of tea of the day, to edit my book. There was a time I would go for a run, as it started to get lighter each morning, but not realistic for me now, and when I began last year to start going for a run again, I picked up an injury at the top of my leg, so I go for a early morning walks, once my son has gone to school. It is not realistic for me to go for a walk earlier now so do it is once my son is off to school.
Third tip:
Start in one place at a time
So what area in your life is important to you that you want to change? Take a picture and brainstorm ideas of how to sort this area out and how you can begin to take action. So I needed help in finding time to edit my book and so do it in the morning so then it is done and then work do some of my Life Coaching course I am doing, and block my time.
I use Google Calendar and it is good to get these areas worked on first, then it is getting dressed, breakfast and getting my son ready for school, so it is good to find a good routine and to stop repetitiveness. As humans we like variety and so do something different each day and so I will spend time between the gaps of my day, writing a blog and catch up on Youtube or TV.
Set some time to do whatever you choose
This is free choice time so I can do whatever I like and it really helps me to wind down and reset my mind and have breaks to get chores done and clear the washing up, put on some laundry on and clear clothes and sort out my sons clothing.
I will make sure I take time away from my laptop and it has made a difference and read a book, and just make sure I am properly relaxed to help me have a goodnights sleep and will do some reading, and currently reading: The Healing Power of Mindfulness and very interesting and like doing some mindfulness and taking in what is around me and a good way to relax the body and mind.

I am not a rich chick, not saying I don’t want to be, but happy now, but growing and growing so it develops even better and set goals and practice positive habits and creating a plan, to grow my life to the best that it can be.
Life can take a turn where it is full of bad luck, then good luck. How do you deal with bad luck? Allow it to come through and it will pass. Life is full of chapters, and my life has begun a new chapter. I am now working on radio for Epsom Hospital, today I met some of the other volunteers and was really great to meet them, and shared their stories of those who are also doing shows for the radio station.
There was a while where I took a different path and my life turned upset down. I have now gone through this and realised a lot about me, how strong I am and come resilient to bad luck and that parts of life need to end for a new Chapter to begin, and whenever I have had a bump in the road I have come through stronger than ever.
I’m eating a chocolate cookie, which I don’t eat often, but my eating habits have changed. I have been working on my walking and fitness, by walking once a week to my sons school when he does his afterschool club, trying different meals. We tried a Chicken White Wine Sauce from ASDA and was really nice and started to do cook again.
Life has different chapters through it and some people, like I do, find change hard. It can be tough but for new things to happen, we have to let go of things in your life, for you to continue. This doesn’t mean a break up but a change of plan, if something is not working anymore. It could be sleep, money, an injury so you have had to stop the exercise you were doing, or had a terrible illness and it is cleared.
It can be hard to accept that you’ve changed the path to your life, and had to take another route, but change can be good as it stops us from being bored and feeling unhappy about life, and stops it from coming to a standstill.
I moved to the South Coast of England for a while and felt so good to have done that, because working for a holiday camp was something I wanted to do since a kid too, along with working radio and never became a red coat but it still helped me to build a life of my own, which back at London, I felt my friends lives were growing and mine wasn’t. So going away for a while to complete another goal, it helped stop the feelings that my life was going nowhere.
So I hope this new chapter in my life continues to form and please subscribe if you’d like to be alerted when I put up another post.
