changing your habits, living the best life, planning your life, sorting out your life

It is important to develop Habits that change the way you feel about life, example I will do bit of computer work in the morning then drink my tea in bed and enjoy the morning getting ready for the day and having a good nights sleep.

Photo by Ketut Subiyanto on Pexels.com

Sleep can dictate how we feel each day and its important that you can switch off and turn your devices off and allow yourself to read a book, watch a bit of TV and properly wind down. I don’t have a TV in my room so will watch something on my laptop but again limit it.

Then it is waking up and getting ready.

What steps could you take in the morning that you could change to make it better?

Just think about it. Now I am not saying I am perfect but now I make sure I give myself enough time so I can blend into the morning and take steps so my days are set out, and that I spend time getting my self and my son ready for the day, sorting myself out and go through what I need to get done.

How could you plan better?

I have begun using google calendar again and Notion to have help because I can update them wherever I am using the APPs. One Note is good and free but can get full and so using Notion which if you use the Personal format it is completely free.

I like to break my day up by taking a break from laptop during the day and has really made a huge difference as I was struggling to write and taking time away is important to rest the mind and why I like to break it up by doing my laundry, a bit of cleaning and watch TV or Youtube.

Planning my days has helped make sure I stay up to date with my sons schooling, any appointments I have and exercise. I love building up my steps by walking everyday, including using a treadmill and I do workouts with dumbells, and just having habits that has a good effect on my body, my mind and most important my health.

Just set it out and once you look at your routine and how you plan and why you can’t complete anything and miss appointments. It could be ADHD as adults can have it and that you are giving yourself too much to do each day and not breaking it down.

Are you having trouble trying to stick with good habits

Like I said I have and so if something not wrong that I need to find another way that makes me stick with it until I have found that works for me. I do like to bet up early because I always done so and so immune to it, but it not a necessary, Steven Bartlett doesn’t and doesn’t book any appointments before 11:30am so you may find that you are an night out, which I thought I was but no, but it what works for you that makes your life feel easier rather than a fight.

Change one habit at a time and some will come naturally like I like to be ready each day but 7:30am when my son goes to school or kids holiday club, this includes breakfast and taking my medication and set a time to get ready by.

At the weekends I like to stay in my night gear a little longer and watch a bit of morning TV because I have stopped watching a lot of TV as this can effect your mind and body and I get bored quickly so I will make sure that I am done all that I needed to do in the day by 2:30pm and then go if it is sunny sit in the sunshine.

So change habits not just for short term but that gives you a better wellbeing and feel happy about your life and where it is heading.

getting ready for 2024, looking ahead, planning your life, setting goals for the new year, tips on setting goals

I started to plan my goals for 2024 this week, and getting ready to kick start the new year, and see what I can accomplish. I have already set my financial goals, and now starting my Personal/Home goals, and then set work goals and then play.

Photo by Markus Winkler on Pexels.com

However set your goals that suit you, as everyone has different things going on in their lives so it isn’t one size fits all. I find some goals over lap, with other goals like Financial goals, example, Pay off debt could be in Financial and Personal/Home goals, along with fitness goals.

So, first of all I like to reflect on the previous year, before getting myself ready for the new year and putting a printable together to help you, and then start planning for the new year.

I use a notepad and OneNote, and set yearly goals and Quarterly goals, and separate them, and also do a vision board on Pinterest, and want to do one using Canva. I have already started on Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.co.uk/thetypicalLondongal/vision-board-2024/

I like to set goals for my son and things I’d like for him to do, like for example he has a bike for Christmas and want to take him to a cycle park, and get confident in riding his bike, and he wants to use a Tennis court to play tennis, and so, this I would like to put into home. Then there Play where I want to take him to different places on the train, and he actually wants to be a train. Yes we have had many discussions, about this and not sure, it is being heard as my son is very determined, and not getting that he does have wheels or several doors, but I am sure that he will grow out of thinking that he and ride on the train tracks, and can work on the trains.

Then there is work. So it could be, getting a pay rise and work more hours, or less, and have a side hustle, and want to build your career and profession. If you like me, write blogs and books, then it could be write a new book, or complete a book, or do some writing everyday and create it, into a book and get it published. I love creating stories and have many books that I have started, but not continued, and once one ideas comes into my head, so does another, and then it could, doing Voluntary work, or changing careers. It is all about how it makes you feel. If it excites you, then do it, and yes, you can get self doubt, but if it gives you a buzz, I say go for it.

If you’d like to check out my current books, then go to amazon, and look under my names, Carrie Challoner and Carrie Holmes.

So, lets enjoy the rest of 2023, and be ready for 2024.

Many thanks for reading,

Life Coaching Programme “Summer Project 2023” Planning your life: Being Spontaneous

creating new experiences, having fun, life coaching, planning last minute, planning your life

I know this is counterproductive when I am a planner, I like to plan each day, but sometimes a good plan is when a plan was done last minute with no agenda., I decided to book to go to the Zoo in Battersea park yesterday, and was a good day. My son is very moany at the moment and so he was saying he didn’t want to go to the Zoo, because he wanted to see the London Eye again.

Yet once we were in the Zoo he was happy, and wanted to keep seeing the animals and is a lovely place to visit, and tomorrow we are going to North Greenwich, again, like we did on Monday, and got the UberBoat, and was so enjoyable.

I like when I am out to explore and travel into London even more, and one of the best nights out have often been ones when we have gone out and then wanted to stay out, and had a rememberable time. I remember my friend had drinks in the week for her birthday and we were having such a good time that we went onto a club. I did do the wrong thing, and missed work the next day, but was such a good evening, that neither one of my friends and I wanted to evening to end.

When I would go and watch a rugby league team, which would be mainly at the weekends, we would spend the rest of the evening to go up London and stay out. Yes this cost money, but was money well spent, and felt like I properly let my hair down and I have so many fun memories. Of course my life has changed, I am a mum now, but I do still like to be spontaneous sometimes and have fun, rather than doing the same thing all the time, and are some of the best times. Life is about enjoyment and spending time with those you love, who see life the same way you do, and like to make last minute plans and getting the most out of life.

I couldn’t do this all the time, because I live on a tight budget like many, and the whole the point is to do something different that you unable to do all of the time.

So, plan yes but if your life is getting boring then it is the same thing everyday, then it means you need to do new experiences and make last minute plans, like visiting a friend you have not seen for a long time or going to a place you have never been before, or for a long time, it can make you feel better about life and not see the same place all of the time.

So I did a couple of blogs on Trauma, Life Coaching Programme “Summer Project 2023″Is it good to cry/Dealing with Trauma: Taking one day at a time, Life Coaching programme “Summer Project 2023” Is it good to cry/How to heal after trauma: Tips and Getting Support I want to help in whatever aspect I can because life can hit are hard and I never going to cover up the cracks that have happened in my life, and want to be 100% real.

Photo by Mikael Blomkvist on Pexels.com

My mental state was bad and it has taken me a lot to get my life back on track, but planning is always the one thing that gets me through it. I like planning my days and focusing on having a good day, whatever has tried not knock me off the path I have been going through, to be fully recovered. I did a video talking about a couple of days ago, when I went to pick up my prescription and bought a cold coffee, only to drop it as I was running for the bus back, check out my video here: https://youtu.be/L_bU-FKqtOQ and so not everything goes to plan, but I still got my prescription and I still made it back indoors to record the video above, talking about Using what you’ve got .

When unplanned events happen, it can take a while to get over and I believe in, allowing yourself to grieve and take time in coming to terms that sometimes you have to start again, to continue to grow as a human being, and that is exactly what I have had to do.

I started to get back on my feet by spending time away from my friends and family, and was helped with getting my life together, by having an income again and being reunited with, family and my son, and able to see him off to school and back. Getting in contact with friends via social media, and now looking to be connected to others again, as I do miss going out with friends and family again.

Never plan too big at first, and focus on one or two things, at a time. I began to Understand the condition I had and learned about the triggers, should I feel like I am having relapse, and learning about different mental health conditions. I did this by doing some free courses, and they have helped me, with these blogs, because I love to learn and educate myself. It is a great way to rebuild your life. I did some painting which I haven’t done in years and started walking again. Walking small distances, and exploring new places, getting back into writing books, and exercise is good for recovery as it does give you, good energy and it helps me to listen to my body that can help with my mind, by retuning positive feelings.

Healing relationships by forgiving and forgetting, and addressing the causes. Make a plan to see your friends again and spend time with family, and have them help you in recovery, You don’t have to go through recovery on your own.

Having a good sort out on things that you want to let go off and make plan to do this. Again get help. My mum helped me when I came out of hospital, and recently done a declutter, and doing this regularly can help the feelings of being overcrowded with stuff.

I am in a good place now and feel like my life is taking shape. There are still so much I wish to do, but taking it one step at a time.

Remember I do have books available on happiness and wellnesses, along with fictional books. You can find these on amazon, under the names, Carrie Challoner, Carrie Lee Holmes and Carrie Holmes.

Life Coaching Programme “Summer Project 2023” Build your dreams: What do you want out of this year?

build your dreams, building our happiness, happiness and wellness, love life, planning your life

So we are now heading towards the end of May and so far I have seen progress in things in my life, like I have built up my Youtube channels, I have more follows and likes for my blog posts and that means the world to me. I feel things are taking shape in terms of managing my finances, staying on track with exercise and keeping track of my son school events and helping him with his learning, as I was finding it hard to stay on track in these areas, this is helping me to see what other areas of my life I want to sort out and accomplish this year. I want to get my next book finished so I can get my Christmas book started, along with other tasks.

Photo by Rakicevic Nenad on Pexels.com

I want to continue this life coaching programme and really hope you enjoy this year’s posts and videos I have put up on my main channel: https://www.youtube.com/@typicallondongal I have a weekend in a life to edit and put up and at the moment filming a week in a life.

I wanted to go out and meet with friends again, and so going to see some friends I made when I worked at Butlins, which is a holiday camp, again was brilliant and planning to do this again. Last weekend we went to a festival which I love. It was called Pub in the Park and many people with families went and want to do more just like that, and really looking forward to the Summer, and this week it is half term and got some birthdays next week, and life for me is about having as much time with my son Henry as possible and having different experiences, taking my time and getting out, enjoying what is around me and making time for myself.

Then there are courses I want to finish and want to get back in creating my own again.

So what are your plans? What do you want out of this year?

Take some time to decide if you haven’t already and don’t worry how big it is and when you want to do it, how long will it realistically take.

I wanted to do another charity walk and run, but I keep getting a pain in one of my legs, and so decided that I will continue to do walking along with running, to take part in these events again next year, but just want to build the strength in my legs again to do so.

Perhaps you are worried about going it alone and that you’d like to have someone else on board and they to want the same in their lives like you. Why not do it together as some people feel better in a group. It was good to do walks with others raising money together for charity. The ambition I had in doing the Great North Run was because I went out with friends and got talking to their friends, and said we’d do it together, but then they backed out, so went it alone but in doing that half a marathon saw many doing it as a group.

What do you envision? And who do you want to be in your life? What relationships do you want to be better and where do you see your life? What do you want to feel? Who is there?

I want to see different places this summer in the UK as Henry loves trains so would like to take him on trips, but of course if there may be industrial action on the trains means using other ways to travel, but still going to see if this is possible, and doing more work either in Childcare or Healthcare.

What do you not want to do this year? What areas do you want to change and make it better? What would you like to spend more time doing? It could be learning a new skill, well there are Adult Community colleges, and I did a few in writing, dancing and cake making as I wanted to make my son his first birthday cake, and dancing.

There are many online courses you can do. I am doing a life coaching course, enrolled in doing a psychology course and will help me towards learning about Child Psychology and want to do another writing course to help me and why not if you have always wanted to, write a book. Check out Youtube as there is a lot of training on doing this on there, along with many different things. I did a video on my other Youtube channel about how Youtube has saved me money: https://youtu.be/tBR1rN3Ti_8 there is a lot of training you can do for free.

If you want to have more holidays, but you have a tight budget. There are hostels you can stay in and I found booking the hotel and flights separately can save you a lot. I booked a brilliant hotel when I last went to Florida via Booklings.com and then booked flights and you don’t always have to pay for the hotel when you book, using Bookings.com.

Yes I had to save, but it is possible and check last minute deals. So your dreams can happen by asking and planning what you want out of this year.

Remember you can keep informed of my blogs on this site if you follow me and please like, as this helps me to know what to write about Let me know by writing in the comments below of what you want out of 2023.

Lets work together to build our dreams and enjoy life.

Life Coaching/Monday Reset/Has this made a difference

beginning of the week, monday reset, planning your life, Positive Habits, weekly planning

Hello, so if you don’t know what I am talking about then please read my last weeks blog about it Monday rest/will I get it done . I wanted to see if this was a good habit to get into and plan doing this as a weekly habit. This was talked about a lot on Youtube and wasn’t sure if I could do it. So I decided I would try it out.

Photo by PNW Production on Pexels.com

It helped set the day and a week on a high. So am going to do the same this Monday. I will be dusting my windowsill and fire place. Then I am going to vacuum and clear my rubbish. My laundry has all been done which never usually happened. I would put these jobs off.

It helped me to continue my monthly challenge for June, which was to sort one area of my life and both have helped me hand in hand, because it just helps with having the energy, and today as I write this blog Sunday Evening, I have done more today than I have done in a week.

This doesn’t mean I didn’t take a break. I did. I watched some of the Glastonbury Music Festival and feel ready to start a new week.

It is good to have structure and I live by having a routine. I need to set myself up and prep, with everything I do so I don’t lose momentum.

This is the key to getting more out of your day. I hate the word chore because it instantly puts me off. I like goal, because it is something I can build on. Something I can progress and sorting my life out is what keeps me afloat and awake.

Changing my habits from bad to good, is setting the tone of where I see myself. It gives me balance and is another key factor. If you have two bags of different weights this can be tricky to carry, but if they are at the same level then it is easier to carry.

So find balance in your life and build on your good habits and this will teach you, how to feel good and content, and feel that you’ve got more out of your days, rather than sitting int he same four walls all of the time.

I do write books that are about having a better wellbeing and how to get things done, on amazon, under the names Carrie Challoner and Carrie Holmes.

Many thanks for reading,

Carrie X
