Friendships, What is important to me.

blog post about friendships and how they can effect your health, developing friendships, finding good friends, unhappy friendships, wordpress posts about friendships

So, I did a blog about how Bestfriends can help your health, but what happens when a friend turns out to be an enemy and can damage our health physically and mentally.

I am a friend for life, and so for me the relationship of friendship is important to me and what I see in a friend is someone who loves your company like you to with them, and there was a time thought it is about having things in common, but now I realise as I have experience life being in my 40’s that it is not, but about being comfortable and being able to chat about everything and anything.

If they start to be snidey, two-faced and change their tone towards you then what do you feel you should do?

1# Has the trust gone and how are they with other people?

If they are beginning to invite you to places, greeting you differently then ask them about it. I read a book called Brave New Girl and she says that it is okay to confront. Why allow them to treat you unkindly and you have the right to stand up and be accounted for.

2# Never see is as it is you, because it isn’t it is them.

Friends can make you worry about certain things that you didn’t like before, such as your body image. I was told by a girl at school that i was boring about, because I was talking about my favourite TV show The Bill and that i would talk about my holiday to America.

It did hit a nerve, but it was about her and that she liked her own voice, but not others. Now I see that that was her opinion and started talking about The Bill and she moved on.

3# Having boundaries is not all about being argumentative but allow the other to speak. The one thing I hate and I have done it myself, interrupting,

My mum always tells me off about this and so I do catch myself. If I want a good friendship then I have to step up and let them talk. When I feel myself wanting to jump in, I will move my body back so I go from sitting forward to upright and with my look at them to listen.

Even if they say something you do not like, doesn’t mean you have to talk over them or them talking over you. I stopped watching Jeremy Kyle because of the shouting and now as much as the like the ladies, no longer watch Loose Women because of an episode, where they had a lady who was in #Big Brother the celebrity one and I felt so uncomfortable that I stopped watching it, because it seemed they wanted a bust up for entertainment value and why I no longer watch Big Brother and so have boundaries but let the person talk and if you helping a friendship because you actually care, but if they gonna jump in at everytime you talk then what’s point on having a conversation and friendship.

4# If it is a group of friends turning on you.

I like having a group of friends. It is good because it helps for me, with my endorphins, but when they purposely agree with each other purposely then it is time to ask why are they doing that? How would they feel if you did it to them? Friendship is a two way street and not an excuse to gang up on someone.

5# if you don’t wanna lose a friends you have known forever?

So how I have done it, is through Social media like Facebook and Instagram but by sending a letter or a card occasionally. This can feel to them a warm hug to say I know we are not really in each others lives, you still love them and you are there should they wish to return to see you physically again.

It is all about what you value in a person? One thing I like to see is that they will be honest. Friends do fall out, but doesn’t has to mean, you can’t be friends. It is good to see things differently and not all have the same out look on life. I like to be friends with many different people. It to me, when having friends I worked with at Butlins for example opened my eyes and that I can be myself and they can be themselves too.

2026, making changes, new year, weekly blog, weekly printable

HELLO! It is almost 2026 and so it is time to make those changes. For me I want more of what I had experienced this year (2025) and so don’t see it as starting a fresh. For me it means more growing as a person and focus on my son and on my own learning. I love to learn and listen to others that have had success as a author, right blogs and successful on Youtube and find out what works and what doesn’t.

My reading has grown so much and a habit I have stuck to. I enjoyed the walks I did, even when I was reluctant and trying out Park run and would like to try out more fitness clubs. I liked the trips we went on and met up with my eldest cousin. It was good to see family and wish it could be more often.

So this Cheat Sheet is about Getting for 2026.

These are free to download and print. I post them weekly and thank you for those who have liked them and will post more come the new year.

Hello! So come on, be honest. How stressed do you feel?

AT LEAST I GET A LIE IN ON CHRISTMAS DAY!

So not all bad. This Cheat sheet is giving tips on What to do to Delegate BEFORE Christmas Day so everyone involved is in fact involved. So here it is:

I have felt good this year. I am enjoying journaling whilst my son is having is lesson and it has been a great resource and I do it as my first thing in my journal and I would recommend using the Journal APP I have, not sure if it is available to all phones as it was an APP that was already on my phone. By making this change has helped me to plan content, write about my life, moving on and growing from the past. I dwell a lot on the past from things I did wrong but has helped have shape in my life and “Grow”. My word for 2026. This year 2025 was “Lifestyle” and I have changed my lifestyle.

Was a bit Skeptical about the Elf on the Shelf but my son loves it and I have stopped being a Humbug.

My reading has been an amazing and walked a lot and now as it is Winter I have taken a step back for the Winter and just slowing down, but still being somewhat productive without overwhelm.

Just making one change to your routine can make such a difference. Like having more reading time. I read every morning and evening and it has been one of the greatest habits that has really been a boost and set a challenge of reading 20 books. I am on 17 and have a book on Audible that I am listen to and so is 18 so will have two books left. I have done this on Good Reads. Check out my site: https://mybooksandstories.wordpress.com/

The other change is cleaning. I do it as I go and will make sure that before each meal that I have cleared away the items used. Cleaning does not give me joy but like the results do. Learning. I have done some really good courses and been using Youtube for free training to, to build my platforms and content.

Winter yes it can be a drag, because of the shorter days getting up in the dark and going to bed in the dark but I like it because of chilling and love putting a blanket over me and my son, check out this blog: https://thestylishmamma.blogspot.com/2025/12/love-comfort-blanket-at-age-of-47.html

It is good to see the stars and do like a clear sky, but at the same time it is time to slow down and watch some good TV, with a nice hot meal and it is the simple pleasures that makes it different for me now. I did get depressed as I reached adult age, in the winter, but now I embrace it, by not rushing and focus on little pleasures. https://mystylewayofliving.blogspot.com/2025/11/things-that-gives-me-pleasure.html

It is good time to declutter. I do a bit a day and once I start which is the key. Less thinking, more doing and going through my things and today I wrote a list of what I want done by the end of the year and love planning for the next year, around about this time of year and embrace the new year which back at one point would get emotional and felt I wasted a year and so I make the most of the days whilst I am alive and it just simple changes, can make such a difference.

It all counts.

So I hope you are finding these blogs helpful and comforting and that it does not have to be doom and gloom.

Do It Your Way In Managing Your Lifestyle

happy living, having a budget, lifestyke, managing your life, self care

What is a form of self care. I remember watching one of Mel Robbins Podcasts, which are very good, I do get a lot of inspiration, but there was one guest that talked about how having a bubble bath is not a form of selfcare. Well may be not?. I love the whole process of having a bath whilst listening to an audiobook. So why can’t it be seen as a way of giving myself, self care? It is what helps you when you have had a busy day and Oprah for example reads in the bath and so I feel that was, when listening to the podcast a bit of a misconception. Zoe Sugg for example loves to be in the bath scrolling on her phone, and I bet there are people saying, that that’s a bad thing. Why? If it is relaxing. Selfcare is not the same for everybody.

Budgeting is the same as dieting. I love to budget it helps me from buying another pair of boots and another collection of notebooks. It is not depriving me from anything. Not in my case anyway, but helps me make sure I put money into my son’s account, I pay my phone bill and if I need to buy an emergency item, having budget ensures me that I will have the money should that happen. Its covering anything that may breakdown, like my laptop, a household appliance we use like our Airfryer and so for me it does not feel like a diet.

Going to bed early and you will wake up early. Not for me. I have suffered with Insomnia since a child and would wake up between 3am and 4am and when I tried to go back to sleep I would feel more tired or have a nightmare. When I’ve gone to bed early, to see if helped, I just wake up at midnight and find I have over slept, so for me I now go to bed later. I read my book so as soon I feel the most tired, I drift off nicely and wake up at 5am. Going to bed later has helped me sleep all the way through the night and lowered my Insomnia. It all depends on each person and so if going to bed early helps you, fine, its not one way fits all, but what suits you and your lifestyle.

Eating three meals day. Now I am not saying this is wrong or right. For me I not always a lunch girl and love dinner but not able to do large amount of food, whether it is healthy or not. I find I get indigestion if I eat too much. I have listened to those experts on the TV and on Social media of you can eat large amount of food, as long as it is healthy and there are people who can eat larger amounts, of food and I am working on my food consumption by trying different foods, but eating when I know will fill me up and reduce waste.

I have the mentality to know when I am full. My son is starting to. My husband will skip a meal to have a big meal in the evening, if we have for example Fish n Chips. Chatting with my diabetic nurse she told me not to eat too much fruit, as it is still sugar and that you eat more vegetables and that has worked, but again I not able to eat to much even if it is vegetables. I do think home cooking is good and like cooking. So feel that people should do what works for their body and the recommended portion for their body type by getting help from a dietician, diabetic nurse or your GP.

Scheduling and Planning. I like to now use post it notes. Check out this blog on one of other blog sites: https://organize4thebetter.blogspot.com/2025/10/new-way-of-planning-and-staying-on.html I now have a pinboard that I claimed as my mum and step dad was getting rid of it and it really making a huge difference. I have used Google Calendar but just kept filling up my Inbox and so I now use Notion, Post its and my phone. It is what suits you best. Some like doing Block Scheduling. I tried this method but I found it to restricting. On my phone I use the Notes APP on my phone but it can use up storage. Again depends on your lifestyle.

It is good to listen to others about Selfcare, Finance, getting a good nights sleep, eating nice foods and scheduling and planning, but not to the word because it is what helps you, to manage your life, that fits around your lifestyle.
