Hello! I hope you had a good two weeks. Here is a new Weekly Cheat Sheet and this week it is about Teach Yourself. I wrote a blog in Change Your Life in April 2025 and it is about being Selfish and is so important: Its Okay to Be Selfish
I am the happiest I have been doing things that make me feel good each day. I love reading and make sure each day I spend time reading. I like to do home workouts and having a coffee in the morning, not all the time now and popping out going for walks.
These are free to download and print. They are on many different topics. If you’d like to be notified when I post a printable or a post, please subscribe.
Just to let you know I will be doing my yearly my Life Coaching programme Summer Project 2025 and will begin in June 2025 to August 2025. There will be a free worksheet for it, blogs and Videos. The Videos will be on my Educational Youtube channel: Carrie Educational Youtube channel – YouTube
We can lose sense of ourselves when we have so much to do. This is why I have a routine in place to ensure I don’t get lost and next minute, nothing is done.
A picture of me editing my book whilst having my weekly coffee and is part of my weekly routine.
So here are tips on how to stay within your routine:
Do 1 minute tasks: This has helped me immensely and it can be putting the cups used in the morning into the sink for washing up and drying up, from breakfast whilst the kettle is boiling. You’d be amazed how this can help. I did a Cheat Sheet To help: one minute tasks
Brake it up: So I yesterday cleaned the fire place, I was stopping in yesterday and had a couple of minutes and cleaned it top to bottom. Today I will do the windowsills in the Living room and I put out the laundry this morning
Keep tabs on your dates and appointments: Keeping tabs on my sons school clubs and that he is kept informed of events, too. My son works via a routine and so will make sure that he has his breakfast first, gotten dressed, once he has finished his breakfast, do a bit of reading and has his shoes and socks between 8:15 to 8:30am, to ensure he is ready for the taxi that takes him to school. I make sure he has what he needs for the club and is ready in plenty of time as I fear lateness.
Chill out time: As much it is important to getting things done, due to deadlines, it important to add to your routine, relaxation. We aren’t here in this world to do it all. Monday I was burnt out. I couldn’t get onto my laptop, so I took a break and felt so much better for it.
Step back: Take time away from the everyday. I love flexibility and will change my mind on tasks and step back and ask myself “Do I want to do something else” and if I feel a yes then I do and it helps my work ethic and treating my daily tasks as chores.
Plan through out the day: I like to go through plans and spend time listening to a podcast and what helps me to build my content, I will rewrite what needs to be done to help store it in my head as well as writing on my mobile. I make sure all my tasks are done by 2pm, to ensure I have relaxation.
Fit in walking and indoor workouts: Many find the mornings a good time to do a workout or go for a run. I like to walk outside in the mornings, but on the treadmill in the afternoon. I will workout on the go. Example: when waiting for the kettle to boil or making dinner, do a leg workout. Check out this blog I wrote: https://neworganizedself.blogspot.com/2025/05/things-i-do-to-save-myself-time.html I will in bed do some stretching and walking to the shops, taking notice of what is around me and listening to nature around me.
Cooking and meals: We make sure we make time for breakfast. Henry sometimes likes a cooked one and I think is a bit off from having cereal but we make sure we always got food for breakfast. So my husband does his shop on Saturday and I will by food for meals in the week. I write a list for both of us and have always got food for dinners. We eat between 16:30 to 16:45
So this is how I take care of my routine and would like to know what you do. You can leave a comment below. If you like my blogs, then please click below and subscribe, as it helps it to grow and know what you like to read or learn about.
So it is end of April and means that my Change Your Life training has come to an end. Please check out my last video I did. The videos will be left up on Youtube and on this site and so if you hadn’t managed to do this training then you can do so I am all about flexibility.
So I hope you enjoyed it. I hope that you no longer feel you have no life and nothing to be credited for, but you do. WE ALL DO! Have self belief and take your time. Changes can take time but when you start to do changes each day you will see the results and so be lifted and have time for yourself. I want to help you In getting a job you love, or in a home you’ve been wanting to live in, take on a hobby or a trip to a city you’ve always wanted to go and visit and feel brighter in the mornings and look forward to each day.
I enjoy my life now. Know I am not on a huge income, I still have a bad days, but now I have more resilience and not allow things to get me down. I want to help you all to give yourself credit and celebrating you and your life.
So next will be my Summer Project 2025 and so lots more to come.
Hello and welcome! It is nearly the end of another Month. Please check out my Newsletter for April, sharing what I got up to during Easter and what is coming up in terms of my content. Monthly Newsletter
So in this Cheat Sheet are one minute tasks, as I always like to do these tasks daily and weekly and helps to break up these tasks, helps me to not feel bogged down and once done can breath instead of having a pile of coats everywhere, shoes putting dirt on your shoes, not getting dirt around the rest of the house, not being a eye sore and having more to do:
There was a time where I took things for granted and not opening my eyes to the world. The moments I spent with my grandparents, forgetting that one day they will be gone and like with my dad, not realising that one day I will have to go it alone without him. I am very aware now that, the small moments are precious and everyday should be lived. My life is not all put together, there is still so much out there for me to learn and not an expert of laying things to rest, and still have no sense of direction and still struggle with socialising, but I love the time I spend with my family, my son and he has really taught me a lot.
He lives in the moment and see that we are not meant to be good at everything, but why each day should teach you something. Example: Learning how from others, like my mum, my husband and from other parents. My husband today got my son to help cook and make his own breakfast. I felt a little begrudged., but that’s my own insecurity and I like cooking for my son, but if he asks to help then I need to not get nervous about it, and its my duty as a parent, as I see it, to teach him life skills, to have him learn to cook but I am no master chef so I have had to learn to cook too.
When I make a nice meal I do feel so proud, when I have not burnt the scrambled egg or invented a meal that’s gone well, feel like I could get a Michelin star for parent cooking and hope my son asks for beans on toast on some days.
I do dwell on the passed and I still remember as a kid where I got in trouble with touching someone in the flats I lived, car, when all the other kids were doing the same, but the girl who told her mum did it because she had decided not to like me. I still remember how I felt about that, but what can I do, I can’t go back but use it to learn and there will always be someone who doesn’t like you and will never see it from your opinion, as many, as learned, in customer service, have already decided what they want to hear and so when they don’t it is a travesty, to them. Your their enemy and everyone should bow at their feet and I am no, you have no morals and learned that there isn’t good in everyone and people who just want to hate on others.
I am not here to change the world and what is important to me and what direction do I want to go.
Life is full of surprises example I never thought I’d be doing this writing a blog and making videos. Dancing was my skill I naturally had and then playing football. I love coaching and teaching and was good at training others and so why I created this blog because I have find life a struggle but now I embrace it and it is taken a lot to get here, to feel this way.
I am learning that I am no rugby player, when I go to kick the ball and completely miss it and when my son wants me to do be on all fours to pretend to do a scrum, how the Astroturf hurts my knees. but its all about doing your best and my son gets annoyed with me if it takes me ten times to kick the ball that he can catch. Then he wants me to tackle him and go and get the ball. I do it because I love my son and it builds my steps and saves an argument. Yes I know I should lay down the law but makes it hard and then I am having tantrum.
When it comes to singing my son will tell me to shut up and wish I had a voice like Celine Dion and be able to bale out The Power Of Love and then visioning myself as a member of the Bangles or Cyndi Lauper. But I now work on radio and love it and getting compliments of the music I am playing, so I am never going to get a record deal so getting to play it, is just as good.
At the same time I enjoy it and that is the biggest lesson. If you don’t enjoy it, then stop feeling you have to continue. We aren’t here to enjoy everything. You’re still a human and will have dislikes and that is okay.
This blog is part of my Change Your Life training to enjoy life more and to love your life and yourself. I did my first video for it and so check this out. It is about Coming last: https://youtu.be/xOfn9eS8hxU
I have a new set up now and going to show in a vlog and it is to stop me from getting neck ache that I often get when working on my laptop. Sometimes you have to try a different system to find out what works for you. Finding out what is more productive to the way you work.
Picture taken out having a coffee editing my book I am editing with a coffee and great way to stay productive and not spending too much time in one place.
Changing the environment so you need use a different area of a room for better lighting and have a better system where you can work more effectively. Having a desk lamp if you share the room with your spouse, so he can still watch TV, whilst you are on the computer and not getting into each others way.
You may find working in the kitchen is better and you have all your to do’s on a notebook ready, written the night before, rather than on your computer. I like to write down my plans aswell as using online tools, it is good to have it as a back up and also I find it goes into my head better and make notes on my phone when I am, out and about so not having to carry a lot. Well still working on that. I like to spend time writing, planning and reading, in a coffee shop, just nice to be out but carry my current notebook, diary and book I am editing.
Playing music by making good playlist or a place you can throughout the day, to have some silence. Too much noise can really clog up my head so like to turn off the TV and not get disrupted. Have base where you can read for half hour or where you can do some exercise and workout in your garden whilst the kids are at school.
I see people going out for a walk around the park and taking their dogs for a walk and I like doing that aswell and walking though commons, such as Epsom Common or Wimbledon. I now do parkrun and it is really good fun but see many families not doing parkrun still having a morning stroll and it is so good. I enjoy walking and I post a lot of my walking on my Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/typicallondongal/
Have your kids do some reading and writing each morning once all the breakfast items have been put away, or have them read to each other, whilst you get ready for the day. When they return from school have a place or system of putting their bags in a place where they can unpack and pack for the next day. Order their school dinners every Monday rather than later in the week where you are likely to forget. This is from experience and reduce the amount you have to think about.
The one system I do is whilst making myself a coffee once my son has gone to school, is put away the breakfast items and that I am dressed before my son is in the morning and once my son has had breakfast is dressed for school. We have all his uniform set out and is ironed which my husband takes care of.
It is good to have a system when it comes to daily chores. This morning I cleared the Living room windowsill into my bedroom and have made changes to my room too to have more hanging space for my caps and bags.
It is really has made a difference to how I feel about my environment, to feel good about myself and my life. I am today sorting out my Pinterest and organising it a little better and can be added to your system by putting all your vision boards and plans on there and is a great resource for planning. Please check out this board of Planning ideas: https://uk.pinterest.com/thetypicalLondongal/planning-your-life/
We all need to recharge, go for a walk without your kids hanging onto your ankles.
We are all here to live a blissful life and life can become too much, so don’t feel bad if you need some time to yourself.
Forget the guilt and put a DO NOT DISTURB sign on the door whilst you write or chilling listening to a podcast and I like to often have time with the TV off and sit in silence as we all need to switch off. We are human and living beings, who need to step back, putting yourself first for once.
It okay to meet with friends rather than hoover the house and not chat on WhatsApp, but see them face to face.
I enjoy spending time with others but at the same time, I like my own company and going for a walk, grab a coffee and sit by the river or by a local pond and let my mind wonder and watching the world go by.
Learn a new skill. I have done courses at a community college and did a singing class, drama, but then got a job working at a holiday camp, so didn’t continue but was fun and done football coaching, courses on mental health and it is good to learn and grow your knowledge and you don’t have to tell the world, but be a personal project.
I like to take trips, with no real plan but just travelling on a bus or train listening to a audio book or music, looking in charity shop, not for entertainment but to see if I can find some items on my list of things I’d like to buy.
I like to eat out occasionally when my son is at school and my husband is at work.
So be selfish and make the time yours and yours only, then once you’ve had some time to be with yourself then meet with others again and schedule some more down time.
This is part of my training I am doing for April 2025 because following these practices and loving my own company aswell is socialising, has helped to have a better relationship with myself and my life.
Please check out these two blogs written before for training. See the links below:
As it is spring it can often mean we can get Hayfever which can lead to an infection. My son and myself suffer with Hayfever and my son has had it pretty bad and was breathing really heavily so had to seek medical help.
Just because it is Spring doesn’t mean your free from getting sick and so this new Cheat Sheet for the week, is Giving tips on what to do when your feeling under the weather.
Last Saturday completing 5KM doing Parkrun. I kept thinking about it but too the plunge and now really enjoy even though I get nervous every time.
This is part a series of blogs to Help you make changes to your life and will be for the Month of April on this website along with some videos on myEducational Youtube channel.
Here is the first blog.
Every Friday when I know I am going to be doing Parkrun on Saturday, I get the usual anxious feelings in my stomach. It is nerves and find it hard to think of anything else, until I have done it. It is breaking a barrier of what I know is challenging but know by doing the Parkrun I am going to feel on top of the world.
As a kid I remember watching Samantha Fox she was a page three girl, who poised topless on in the Sun Newspaper everyday. She had already been singing but got the page three girl job, only to cross the barrier once again and her debut single “Touch Me” was released in 1986 and was a success.
Kylie Minogue had sung as a kid but was firstly known for her acting and then became a pop sensation and both Samantha Fox and Kylie Minogue have had brilliant careers, in music. Gary Lineker who was a brilliant Striker for clubs and England, being part of the famous, 1990 World Cup squad, now is known from his presenting on Match Of the Day and now going to be leaving. Many may not remember his goals for Tottenham, playing for Barcelona and playing for England.
I went from hating P.E at school when we had to do running and took part in the Great North Run and made me change my mindset of seeing what I could accomplish if I crossed a barrier that I never entered my brain to do, a half marathon?
Have faith in yourself and yes your fear can contribute you in not crossing a barrier, because of what if this happened and that? You will never know unless you get up and give it a try. If you find it is not for you and noone got hurt then that is fine. You have to challenge yourself to see what you are capable of and think “What if it is a success?”. Give it a try.
I love Strictly Come Dancing. Watching Chris McCausland dance and he was amazing and Rose Ayling-Ellis. Not saying that because of their disability, but the fact that they didn’t restrict themselves and opened our eyes to “Its anybody’s competition” not matter of what, may be a barrier to some but them not and having self belief.
So break a barrier and see what you can do and accomplish. It’s never too late and will be writing a blog on this too.
Hello! It is the start of a new week and today I have been updating my google calendar and lists on Notion, getting tasks that are Overdue. This weeks Cheat Sheet is tips on Having a Fresh Start to having a Reset.
