Can you have peace when you are trying to get to your kids to school or catching the train to go to work and have to come home and do some housework? It can be a juggling act and so when on the train just spend time looking out of the window and visioning your day and at lunchtime catch up on listening to a playlist or audiobook on your phone away from colleagues who may want chat about work, but is the last thing you want to do.
When I am working on building content I will have the TV off so I can be fully focused and walking noticing what is around me and allow my feet to walk and really helps to clear my mind and refocus.
Listen to your body and mind and what it needs. Yesterday I was not good, I had an allergic reaction to something and hadn’t slept, so took some medicine and didn’t film a vlog (vlog Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@typicallondongal) took a break from my laptop and just did nothing and I feel so good for that and today Saturday 28th September, I feel myself getting back to feeling normal, and it so happened to be my birthday.
Sometimes you just need to rest and your body will tell you. If your sick it means you have to slow down as your health is priority. Noone wants to be sick, everyone wants that boost of energy and positivity, so if your body is aching, your nose is running, like me had a rash and didn’t sleep well feeling “This is too much” pull yourself back and rest.
Everybody wants peace and quiet at times and this is why the reset is good, because if one of your areas you want to work on it is too have more peace and quiet, then make that happen. Schedule it in and let your family know and put a “Do not disturb” on the door and have a afternoon nap, do a bit of reading, journaling, meditation or watch a TV series, without your children interrupting, let them know its parents rest time. You can involve your family to all have a bit of peace and quiet, by doing a puzzle, watch a film or a reading hour for example and wind down properly each day.
I am a lot better today as I slept and glad for that time and reminded myself to “Switch Off ” and “Concentrate on my health” and thankful that I did that and so if your feeling rough, as also I am on my period, sorry if TMI, but can affect me too, in terms of sleep and energy, so listen to what your body tells you and look after yourself.
I hope these blogs help you and lets all work together to grow in learning about your body and mind so you become healthier and calmer.
So I have a cut of point of how long I will be working on content, checking emails, writing and filming, so I can focus on doing dinner, getting ready for bed and allow my body and mind to wind down, to relax and I stop working on my laptop around 2pm and do bits from 5pm to around 6pm and is working for me. So set yourself a time to stop being on your devices and have a bath or I will read.
In the mornings I am currently working on my next book of a series I am creating, then I will have breakfast with a few cups of teas, get dressed and ready for the day. Today I walked on the treadmill, helped my son get ready for school and I did some leg exercises and weights and helps me to wake up and then I stop on my laptop before 7am and then back to it when I my son leaves for school, up to the times I have written above and so I used it to sort out my room as it needs decluttering.
I find if I am on my laptop late at night I struggle to get to sleep because my mind is still active and by setting a time now to stop has helped me sleep well and spend time watching TV with my son and have him to some reading and some days I will pop out to be out in the fresh air. It does me wonders for my productivity and having a time to be with yourself and your mind, helps me to be present and love walking where there is a lot of nature or plenty of things going on and being a different environment.
Being in the same walls can make me so claustrophobic and so just being out doors, hearing the birds, saying good morning to people, doing some writing in a coffee shop once a week and tomorrow I am off up to London, helps re-energize and not be stuck in one place all of the time.
So make it a ritual of settling down with a book, with a cup of tea or coffee and allow your body relax and many meditate, but for me it is reading or watching a bit of TV at the end day and then set time to go to bed once I am fully tired, by setting a time to stop looking at my phone, switching it on silent and not on my laptop has made a huge difference for my wellbeing and health.
Hello and Welcome! It is time for a new Cheat Sheet, which I post weekly, on a Monday to start the week and this weeks is ideas of what to do on rainy days as this morning it wasn’t that nice here in Epsom, UK Surrey.
Today I went to Morden Hall in Morden in London and it has a lovely shop and a lovely cafe. So to work on getting things done is to find out what is your favourite time of day where you have the most energy? For me it is the morning and where is your favourite place to go to help get things done.
This morning in Morden Hall Cafe. Working on my book and video scripts and ideas.
I spent time in the Morden Hall Cafe writing notes for my books and working on my other channels and video ideas and watching a bit of Youtube. I love working in coffee shops and cafes. There were other people doing the same and just so good to be in a place that energizers you and tomorrow I am off to see a School, as part of this reset is to find a secondary school for my son, for next year.
I checked out my closet in Epsom that needs to be sorted out and have a idea of empty another storage cube bin and my corner unit and this is going to happen on Thursday and today finished another question of my counselling course that I want to complete by the end of this years Autumn Reset.
Some maybe a night owl and like to work later in the evening, which I was doing for a while, but I like the mornings, so do a reset and on a day and time that suits you and works around your daily schedule to get tasks completed by the end of October 2024.
It so good to find a time you know you won’t feel the massive slump and not be bothered but that you are excited to do the tasks that will help you get the outcome you want. Like working on my bedroom in Epsom will give me more space to hang my clothes and not have everything all over the place and it does no good being the way it is, so doing it when I know I will gladly get it done. This is how you commit and move on to the next projects and areas of your life you want to focus on. changing your home be the what you have dreamed of and same with finishing a book or a course.
So lets continue and my first week went as good as it could as I had a my a sick child, who is now better and got what I could, get done, but not putting too much pressure on myself.
If you like to share your first week of this years reset then please lets encourage one another. You can use the comment section below, and please subscribe then you’ll never miss a blog.
I am someone who likes to plan, but have to rein myself in, to remind myself to focus on each day and what I can do today. My son been ill has reminded me to do that.
So focus on one thing you can do today that will help you tomorrow, like having time to make a nice cooked breakfast to begin your day, before doing your reset tasks.
Today my focus was to take care of my son, by making sure he has his antibiotics, he was going to go back to School tomorrow, but due to the antibiotics he has been taking, has an upset tummy and so will start to sort out the guest room and the shed I want to clean up, as it has been refurbished with a new roof and doors, is once my son returns to school which I hope is next week, to be cleaned up, so I can take my craft products, out of the guest room, to be moved into the shed.
When my son has been at home this week I have worked on my book and this morning I was awake early and got up to work on it with other tasks and been struggling to get up early the last few days and once my son is okay can do more and so if you want to join me in this yearly reset programme and you don’t miss a post please subscribe.
So I will see what tomorrow brings and if I can continue to work on the different areas of my life, to organize and work towards their completion, then I will and see how my son is, so he is well again and then I can do more to complete the projects I want to get done, for this years Autumn reset.
Please share your first week if you have joined me and lets cheer each other along as we add our wellbeing and for me it is all about, having the life I dream of, which is to teach and help others as much as I can, by developing my projects to make sure they are helpful and that you love being part of my community I am building to help others live their dreams.
Live you life and believe that what you dream of is possible.
So it is week 1 and I have laid out what areas I want to work on for this years Autumn Reset, using my printable (please check out my blog: autumn 2024 and it is free to download).
To get started I wrote down What I want to focus on?
In asking this and looking at my list I can workout, what is truly is important to me and what will once the most important tasks are completed, like booking my son to see the dentist, will then give me room to work on the next items that I would like to complete, example: I want to work on my next book, of my book series I am putting together, and complete the first draft.
This week has been challenging because my son has been off school due to a Chest Infection and so been working on my book, and today contacted the dentist and just focusing a few areas at a time, can really help to work on the next part on the print out, breaking it down.
So the first thing I need to do about the Dentist is to contact them to arrange an appointment, then go to the appointment. I split my tasks up that I want to complete. I split the up in Home, Work and Play. So booking the dentist is under home, working on my book, goes under work and not really got anything under play but this could be fitness, meeting with friends once a week, trying out different restaurants in London for example, and gives you the outcome you want.
It is all about what will give you joy and building the life you want, being the person you want to become.
So lets work together and please share what areas/tasks you want to complete for the Autumn Reset. You can leave a comment below.
Yes it is now Autumn and that means school is back on. Does that feel you with dread?
This would be me, but now, now I am more present in mind, have had the best summer I have had so far in my life and had some really good days out, had time for myself too and really been a lot of fun.
If there was one thing you would like to do in the summer, then jot it down, and save it.
This is a picture of my son stroking a cat we often see in Southpark Gardens in Wimbledon and perfect good to play in all year round.
Altering habits has helped, like not stopping in as I was having two days indoors, but I actually found that this left me feeling restless and feel better, when I have been out. i was anxious about taking Henry Swimming, because it was a different gym, but was really good fun and having time to watch a series on the TV and taking breaks from my laptop and not being near my phone all of the time, helped.
It is the end of my Summer Project 2024 programme and on the 10th of September is when my Autumn Reset will begin, getting parts of my life sorted out and projects finished, like my book that I am having proof read is done, a first draft of another book done and I have been doing a Counselling course and will be completing and sorting out my room in Epsom, and when the shed is finished in the garden will give it a good clean and give it a bit of make over and use it for my crafting as I want to get back into scrapbooking again and other crafting products I want to do.
I really hope you all had good summer and you enjoyed the holidays and we may still have good weather as sometimes summer can last a lot longer, we hope, as I have loved being in shorts and not having to wear so much to keep warm.

So I have had a really good summer, by doing some wonderful things and I think it is having more positivity, and one of my dreams from when I left school back in 1996, was working on a radio by working for a hospital radio and it has happened and I love it.
I am doing courses that I have wanted to do and feel that my life is taking shape and to continue to follow my dreams, and yes there have been bumps on the road, but that is part of how we can have a different outlook on life, by pushing forward and not allowing those bumps, stop me, from having a good day now and have been less stressed over it.
There was a time I just didn’t want to be alive and felt my life was boring and I had become a different version of myself, someone who didn’t want to get out of bed and go out. I was sleeping through most of the day and needed help.
I got the help, from spending time in hospital and it helped me get back on my feet and back to feeling good about my life and now I have cleared my debt, gone for long walks again and exercising, taking my son swimming, finding my son a good school that met his needs better and having fun with my son, and with family and writing books. I have one that is being proof read and working on a series called Mum&Me, and working on book 2 and got other books I am writing and reading a lot.
So you can change your life into a more positive one, no matter what hurdles you face?
Absolutely and being in my 40’s my love of life has grown and have so many things I am loving, like seeing my son ride his bike, going to pubs and having some food, enjoying what I have in my life and not focussing on what I don’t have and that life is about, how you make it and what it means to you.

If we didn’t have a Queen, we would have never had a King and now we have a King, he now will be head of the monarch and it has been a massive adjustment and I bet that he feels that too. It is not the title but the thing they do that has a massive impact and the Queen did that.
She had problems of her own, but she always showed up. You have Nelson Mandela who was imprisoned and became a figure head and helped stop black people being used as slaves and being mistreated and became a leader of his country and did so much to improve lives.
When I talk about Nelson Mandela, I think about Bob Geldof who used his talent of music to make a difference to those in Africa that were starving and created Band Aid, with it still to this day the song “Do they know it’s Christmas time” is still being played at Christmas and there have been different versions since then, but as far as I am concerned you can’t beat the original song. It sends a real message that we, including myself have taken special days and events for granted and there are many people who don’t because we still have people trying to have a normal life but because of money they aren’t able to.
Then there are children and Michael Jackson for example who were iconic because of his status in the music industry, that his music made a difference and with many being written by himself and still being played, long passed his life and his family lives. He was star from a child and he didn’t know anything else. Then there were the Spice Girls who became iconic, because they achieved success that beat male bands out of the air and still today they make an impact. Victoria Beckham, is now a fashion designer and Emma Bunton has been working on radio and helped the girl bands and that it okay to be a woman in music, and did get in touch with young girls and I remember when they became iconic, because I was living in a housing estate at the time a couple of girls upstairs were singing and copying the dance that they did to “Wannabe” and still today their music lives on.
I think it is because it takes people out of their lives for four to five minutes and helps them get through their lives. Music to me has had a massive impact and it takes me back to certain times and addresses how I am feeling. Sports like football helps you switch off from your life and that is how Paul Gascoigne became a famous because him crying made everyone else feel it, when we lost against West Germany in 1990. We saw them as human beings, which we can often forget and got in touch with people’s hearts. It boosted the football in England as we were so close in getting to the final and then the Premiership came to light and this changed the view on football and the leagues had all been shuffled and been changed.
Those who make such a impact has made us all wish to do the same and inspired us to be somebody by making a difference.
My grandparents and parents have been a massive impact on my life as it made me stand on my own two feet and that I do have a good effect support around me and grateful, rather than thinking of what I didn’t have, and embrace life now thinking of those who have helped me grow and will continue to do so.
