I have felt good this year. I am enjoying journaling whilst my son is having is lesson and it has been a great resource and I do it as my first thing in my journal and I would recommend using the Journal APP I have, not sure if it is available to all phones as it was an APP that was already on my phone. By making this change has helped me to plan content, write about my life, moving on and growing from the past. I dwell a lot on the past from things I did wrong but has helped have shape in my life and “Grow”. My word for 2026. This year 2025 was “Lifestyle” and I have changed my lifestyle.

Was a bit Skeptical about the Elf on the Shelf but my son loves it and I have stopped being a Humbug.

My reading has been an amazing and walked a lot and now as it is Winter I have taken a step back for the Winter and just slowing down, but still being somewhat productive without overwhelm.

Just making one change to your routine can make such a difference. Like having more reading time. I read every morning and evening and it has been one of the greatest habits that has really been a boost and set a challenge of reading 20 books. I am on 17 and have a book on Audible that I am listen to and so is 18 so will have two books left. I have done this on Good Reads. Check out my site: https://mybooksandstories.wordpress.com/

The other change is cleaning. I do it as I go and will make sure that before each meal that I have cleared away the items used. Cleaning does not give me joy but like the results do. Learning. I have done some really good courses and been using Youtube for free training to, to build my platforms and content.

Winter yes it can be a drag, because of the shorter days getting up in the dark and going to bed in the dark but I like it because of chilling and love putting a blanket over me and my son, check out this blog: https://thestylishmamma.blogspot.com/2025/12/love-comfort-blanket-at-age-of-47.html

It is good to see the stars and do like a clear sky, but at the same time it is time to slow down and watch some good TV, with a nice hot meal and it is the simple pleasures that makes it different for me now. I did get depressed as I reached adult age, in the winter, but now I embrace it, by not rushing and focus on little pleasures. https://mystylewayofliving.blogspot.com/2025/11/things-that-gives-me-pleasure.html

It is good time to declutter. I do a bit a day and once I start which is the key. Less thinking, more doing and going through my things and today I wrote a list of what I want done by the end of the year and love planning for the next year, around about this time of year and embrace the new year which back at one point would get emotional and felt I wasted a year and so I make the most of the days whilst I am alive and it just simple changes, can make such a difference.

It all counts.

So I hope you are finding these blogs helpful and comforting and that it does not have to be doom and gloom.

Many thanks for reading,

Carrie X

enjoying life, experiences, having fun in the winter, making life changes, Things you can do all year round

At the weekend. (I have filmed a Vlog. It will be up on my Vlog Youtube Channel). It won’t be available this Wednesday but next Wednesday: https://www.youtube.com/@typicallondongal

My son at Sixes Club London Bridge. A birthday gift and a place I’d recommend.

It was such good fun. We went to a place called Sixes in London Bridge. It is a Club with Virtue Cricket. They have a bar with screens to watch sports. The food looked good, and the drinks were really nice.

I was worried in case it wasn’t the right place, we struggled to find it at first but it is right by London Bridge Train Station and played cricket. In the end we all thoroughly enjoyed it and just because it gets dark early in the winter, doesn’t mean you can’t have fun.

It was perfect for all seasons. We are planning to go before Christmas too and have something to eat there and if your kids likes sport, I would recommend to check it out. I booked it for my sons birthday and was recommended by one of my husband’s work colleagues.

We went out for breakfast and had picky bits for dinner. Something we do at any time and then chilled for the rest of evening. It is good to get out still. It is good to, in the winter to have family time, going for a festive coffee somewhere. Then returning home and chill in front of the TV and Watch a good wintery film. My favourite since a kid was, Christmas Carole by Charles Dickens and my son it is Polar Express or The Grinch. On my own it is You Got Mail and Christmas specials like, Call the Midwife.

We had on the Sunday toad in the hole and my husband cooks on Sundays as usually Henry as normally my son has rugby club in the morning and I go to work, as I work for local hospital and do a radio show for the local hospital: https://www.epsomhospitalradio.org.uk/on-air/listen-live but to celebrate my sons birthday we are had a family weekend, so he didn’t go rugby and I didn’t do my radio show. It is good to do less in the Winter and still have a great time, at home and out.

This is where in my printable for this years Winter Wellness comes into play Winter Wellness Programme 2025 and write down your old traditions and things you want to change to feel good in the Winter instead of causing stress and anxiety but can relax, slow down and do something fun that you all like.

Hello and Welcome to my New Seasonal Programme, My Winter Wellness that I do each Winter to not allow the dark days or the weather to effect my mood and enjoy all the season’s and focus on what gives me joy this time of year.

I just wrote a post on my blog Style Way of Living, about my Home Comforts and I love getting Cozy in the Winter and take a step back from the Everyday Errands and I am loving my time with my son in the Evenings especially in the Winter and watching a Christmas movie. I like to drink Earl Grey tea and a festive drink.

Check out this blog here: https://mystylewayofliving.blogspot.com/2025/11/my-home-comforts.html

I have done a printable and it is about getting the most out of your Winter and that you don’t have to get the latest trends and having a ton of decor and gifts to enjoy your Winter. I like to invest in a good set of jumpers and do a declutter, Christmas Food, but not too much as it is what helps you to enjoy Winter without spending money and spending time with family.

I have a section in this printable about New Traditions and Personal Dilemmas, that has affected my feelings to enjoy the winter season.

So in this Printable I want you to go through as I post to help you enjoy Winter rather than dreading it:

My Winter Wellness printableDownload

This is free printable to download and print and keep.

I have set up a Pinterest board:

I will be sharing blogs from my other blogsite, aswell as this one and so if you want to feel better about Winter then join me and lets help each other enjoy this time of year.

Do It Your Way In Managing Your Lifestyle

happy living, having a budget, lifestyke, managing your life, self care

What is a form of self care. I remember watching one of Mel Robbins Podcasts, which are very good, I do get a lot of inspiration, but there was one guest that talked about how having a bubble bath is not a form of selfcare. Well may be not?. I love the whole process of having a bath whilst listening to an audiobook. So why can’t it be seen as a way of giving myself, self care? It is what helps you when you have had a busy day and Oprah for example reads in the bath and so I feel that was, when listening to the podcast a bit of a misconception. Zoe Sugg for example loves to be in the bath scrolling on her phone, and I bet there are people saying, that that’s a bad thing. Why? If it is relaxing. Selfcare is not the same for everybody.

Budgeting is the same as dieting. I love to budget it helps me from buying another pair of boots and another collection of notebooks. It is not depriving me from anything. Not in my case anyway, but helps me make sure I put money into my son’s account, I pay my phone bill and if I need to buy an emergency item, having budget ensures me that I will have the money should that happen. Its covering anything that may breakdown, like my laptop, a household appliance we use like our Airfryer and so for me it does not feel like a diet.

Going to bed early and you will wake up early. Not for me. I have suffered with Insomnia since a child and would wake up between 3am and 4am and when I tried to go back to sleep I would feel more tired or have a nightmare. When I’ve gone to bed early, to see if helped, I just wake up at midnight and find I have over slept, so for me I now go to bed later. I read my book so as soon I feel the most tired, I drift off nicely and wake up at 5am. Going to bed later has helped me sleep all the way through the night and lowered my Insomnia. It all depends on each person and so if going to bed early helps you, fine, its not one way fits all, but what suits you and your lifestyle.

Eating three meals day. Now I am not saying this is wrong or right. For me I not always a lunch girl and love dinner but not able to do large amount of food, whether it is healthy or not. I find I get indigestion if I eat too much. I have listened to those experts on the TV and on Social media of you can eat large amount of food, as long as it is healthy and there are people who can eat larger amounts, of food and I am working on my food consumption by trying different foods, but eating when I know will fill me up and reduce waste.

I have the mentality to know when I am full. My son is starting to. My husband will skip a meal to have a big meal in the evening, if we have for example Fish n Chips. Chatting with my diabetic nurse she told me not to eat too much fruit, as it is still sugar and that you eat more vegetables and that has worked, but again I not able to eat to much even if it is vegetables. I do think home cooking is good and like cooking. So feel that people should do what works for their body and the recommended portion for their body type by getting help from a dietician, diabetic nurse or your GP.

Scheduling and Planning. I like to now use post it notes. Check out this blog on one of other blog sites: https://organize4thebetter.blogspot.com/2025/10/new-way-of-planning-and-staying-on.html I now have a pinboard that I claimed as my mum and step dad was getting rid of it and it really making a huge difference. I have used Google Calendar but just kept filling up my Inbox and so I now use Notion, Post its and my phone. It is what suits you best. Some like doing Block Scheduling. I tried this method but I found it to restricting. On my phone I use the Notes APP on my phone but it can use up storage. Again depends on your lifestyle.

It is good to listen to others about Selfcare, Finance, getting a good nights sleep, eating nice foods and scheduling and planning, but not to the word because it is what helps you, to manage your life, that fits around your lifestyle.

Autumn Reset: ReShape Your Life

Autumn Reset, completing projects, reshape your life, restarting, Yearly Reset

Doing a Autumn Reset, helps to Reshape everything. If you have tasks that are unfinished and tasks that you’ve not had a chance to do, because of the school holidays then now is the right time and focus on few things and what is the most important to you right now.

If you are having a make over in your home then why not invite friends or family over to help. As a kid whenever we decorated, our home, one of my cousins would help.

Once you go through the items that you want to complete but, like if you decide that the colour paint you wanted has changed, then change it and get a paint chart. One of mine is filming for my other channels. So going to arrange filming in another room.

Perhaps do some filming outside the home and want to improve them.

If there are items that you not able to change or work on, then fine you can go back to it at another time.

I go through what I can do rather than what I can’t do and go through what is the first steps can I take to change the areas of my life that isn’t working and often you may find that you have to start over again.

If it is relationship and your not seeing enough of each other, set a day aside one a month or once a week to go out. A change of environment can do wonders. My husband and I would book a day before Christmas and go to the Southbank, as they often have stalls, then visit Borough Market and have some Winter Cider or Mulled Wine.

Or you want to see a member of your family more often. Find their contact details and make the effort to call them and send a text to ask if they can chat and it is simple tasks that can really help get your juices flowing, to do such tasks, as we can get so stuck with life that we forget the things that can really help you get back on track if you feel your not socialising enough.

I tried many ways to do regularly exercise after I had my son. I started to get up early whilst my husband and son was a sleep and work out. Now I workout in the afternoons and often my son will join me, this is a great time to set some Autumn Goals to help with doing an Autumn Reset. I found that it is the right time and do about 5 to 10 minutes. Not everyday, but twice a week or so.

Once you set it out you find it is easy to Reshape and the one thing I find useful is doing a Mind map. I do this often and it really helps make sure I am on the right path, to finally get projects finished.

Have a schedule, be flexible if other things crop up and why not do a family reset if you want to use the Autumn Reset to spend more time with your kids. So get back into having a weekly family meal and now the schools are opened it means homework, so create if you join me in doing an Autumn reset, do a homework plan so that it is done on time and not rushed and have a family meeting to go through planning with your kids, of getting homework completed.

There are no rules to it and you can start at the beginning of Autumn or during. Ir is up to you and if it helps you, keep a diary or a journal to reflect on how it is going and if you finding something difficult and adjust as you do This year’s Autumn Reset.

I glad for your feedback and if you have tips on doing a Autumn Reset then please share. You can write in the comment section below. You can subscribe if you want to be notified when I post on this site and will never miss one.

If you missed my first post then click here: Autumn Reset

I also have a book out. It is called Mum&Me on Amazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0BGSS7H9K
